The Austrian government now apparently wants to use the disaster in Graz as a pretext to link access to social media and possibly even the internet in general to age verification. And what could be better suited for this than ID Austria?
After the government statement on Monday, further details were revealed by State Secretary Alexander Pröll from the ÖVP. A national solution is to require tech media to comply with their age restrictions, Pröll said in the Ö1 "Mittagsjournal." However, it was again not explained how exactly these age controls are supposed to prevent such acts.
