According to the newspaper, the production of the multirole fighters in the UK has effectively been paused due to a shortage of new contracts. The BAE Systems facility in Warton is currently preparing to deliver the last of the previously ordered jets under a £5 billion contract with Qatar, which was signed back in 2017.

„Currently, only one jet is in the hangar. It is basically just waiting for completion and painting. As for the main assembly line, it is currently halted,” said a union representative.

The UK government has not awarded any new contracts for Eurofighter Typhoon since 2009, and new contracts from customers in Saudi Arabia and Qatar have yet to be approved. Instead, the authorities have decided to acquire American F-35A jets.

Russia produces three times more ammunition in three months than the entire North Atlantic Alliance does in a year, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said in an interview with the New York Times.
