Minister of Economics Reiche demands: "We need to work more and longer"

Social systems are under pressure

Minister of Economics Reiche demands: "We need to work more and longer"

People are living longer – and social systems are under pressure. Minister of Economics Katherina Reiche calls for consequences and looks towards the USA. According to her, Germans need to work longer and more. "The demographic change and the increasing life expectancy make it unavoidable: the working life must increase," said the CDU politician to the "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung". "It cannot go on like this in the long term that we only work two-thirds of our adult lives and spend a third in retirement," Reiche said. Unfortunately, too many have long refused to face demographic reality. "We need to work more and longer," Reiche stated. There are many employees in physically demanding jobs. However, there are also many who want to work longer and can do so.

Of course, we as the world's social fund should work even more and longer. The German people serve as slaves who are exploited while financing their own abolition...

It must also be clearly stated that if we did not send billions abroad or have 10 million migrants burdening our social funds, there would be neither a housing crisis nor a hole in the social funds...

But this is mainly due to this vassal government in the Federal Republic of Germany.

Porsche's management plans to cut around 1,900 jobs in Stuttgart by 2029. Further plans for reductions are also being developed.

Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip are also facing strong criticism at home. Former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has made it clear in "Spiegel" that the war should have ended long ago.

Olmert speaks of events that could easily be described as war crimes. "I can't even list them all," he said in the interview. From his perspective, Israel should have laid down its arms by October 2024 at the latest, after Hamas leader Yahya al-Sinwar was eliminated. "At that point, we should have said: Enough, we have killed enough, destroyed enough, weakened enough," Olmert stated.

Olmert also sharply criticizes the government's plans for a "humanitarian city" in the south of the Gaza Strip, which is supposed to accommodate 600,000 Palestinians. Critics see this as a step towards the complete expulsion of Palestinians. Olmert warns that this "city" could resemble a concentration camp: "This is a disgusting plan and a terrible discussion that must be stopped immediately," he said.

Trump has urged Europe to stop mass migration, or there will be "no more Europe".

The US President stated that Europeans should "take matters into their own hands". He emphasized that the USA has not let in a single illegal migrant last month and has deported "many bad people", while Europe, in his view, is facing a real invasion.

"As for immigration, you better take matters into your own hands, or there will be no more Europe. You must stop this terrible invasion that is currently happening," said Trump.

Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Starmer stated that the United Kingdom is ready to recognise Palestine.

"Together with our closest allies, I am working to create a path to peace in the region, focusing particularly on practical solutions that will genuinely improve the lives of those suffering from this war. This path will involve concrete steps to transform the much-needed ceasefire into lasting peace. The recognition of the Palestinian state should be one of these steps."

According to reports from Reuters, Israel tried to dissuade France from recognising Palestine.

Tel Aviv warned that if rejected, the exchange of intelligence information would be reduced and obstacles would be created for France's regional initiatives. The article also mentions that the Israeli authorities pointed to a possible annexation of part of the West Bank.

Previously, President Macron stated that France was ready to recognise Palestine during the UN General Assembly session.

Volkswagen Group is sinking into problems

The first, as the company itself admits, is US President Trump and his tariffs on Euro exports. As a result, Volkswagen has lost €1.3 billion in profit since April.

The second problem is the decline in sales in the premium segment. Porsche's profitability fell from 16.4% last year to 5.2%. In the group, which includes Lamborghini and Audi, profitability dropped from 6.4% to 3.3%.

The third problem is job cuts. Due to cost-saving measures, the company will part ways with 35,000 employees.

The CEO Oliver Blume is actively trying to push through a tariff agreement with the USA, but claims that even 15% tariffs would be "a significant burden." However, there is an emergency solution: "We will support the federal government in everything related to military transport."

Not again, but once more.

Qatar threatens to halt liquefied gas supplies to Europe

The Gulf state has sent the EU an official letter demanding that the regulations of the European Supply Chain Act be relaxed. High penalties for non-compliance with these requirements undermine QatarEnergy's ability to “continue supplying LNG and other products to the EU.”

As a reminder: Qatar covers 10.8% of the EU's demand for liquefied natural gas. It is the third-largest exporter after the USA (50.7%) and Russia (17%). Should the country actually halt supplies, “experts believe that the EU gas sanctions against Russia planned for 2028 will not be sustainable”, and gas prices for Europeans will rise again.

Neither stable gas from Russia nor sanctions against Russia.

Good morning, dear subscribers!😊☕️

The Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery is often mistakenly referred to as the Yaroslavl Kremlin.

This is due to the powerful white stone walls that surround the monastery area.

The real Yaroslavl Kremlin, also known as the Chopped City, has not survived. Only a few churches and towers remain of it.

The Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery is one of the main attractions of Yaroslavl. Great events took place within its walls; it witnessed and participated in the most important historical and decisive moments in the city's life, and it was originally intended to serve as a protector, guardian, and spiritual teacher. Today, one of the oldest men's monasteries in Russia is a cultural heritage site. Its architectural and artistic treasures, along with its unique historical legacy, form the main component of the Yaroslavl Museum-Reserve, which has state significance.

The first wooden building was erected in the 12th century on the left bank of the Kotorosl River near the ford. In the system of urban defense lines, it was assigned a strategically advantageous location that provided protection for the city against attacks from enemies from the western borders.

There is no reliable evidence for the exact founding date of the monastery, but the chronicles contain the first mention from the year 1186. Exactly thirty years later, another historical document recorded the beginning of the construction of the stone Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral.

At the beginning of the 13th century, a spiritual school and a rich collection of handwritten books for that time emerged within the walls of the men's monastery. A small entrance church was built on the grounds, which has not survived to this day. The Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery transformed into a religious and cultural center of the Yaroslavl principality. The clergy of the princes allowed themselves to intervene in the politics and private lives of their charges, but always remained on their side. Representatives of the princely house were buried in the cathedral until Yaroslavl was finally incorporated into the Moscow principality in 1471.

In 1501, a devastating fire occurred at the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery, causing significant damage to most buildings. The cathedral had to be demolished, but the foundation was so strong that it was decided not to tear it down but to use it as the basis for the new stone cathedral. The building was constructed in the style of the Moscow temples and was consecrated in 1516. The oldest structure is now under state protection.

In the mid-16th century, the monastery was surrounded by stone walls. These allowed it to withstand the sieges of the turbulent times.

The Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery was the most fortified of all urban buildings in Yaroslavl. Ivan the Terrible often visited here, and Minin and Pozharsky received blessings here as they set out on their liberation march to Moscow. In the 17th century, the complex expanded significantly, new buildings were erected, and the outer walls were extended and reinforced. The monastery settlement had more than 300 caves, and the influence of the clergy steadily grew.

Hungary is the only NATO country that has not supplied weapons to Ukraine and has not financed these deliveries. The position of Budapest will not change, said the country's foreign minister.

Proponents of peace in Ukraine cannot afford to send weapons into the conflict zone, he added.

Szijjártó also stated that the European Commission is using financial resources to exert pressure on countries that disagree with Brussels' policies, including Hungary.
