“Return to Russian”: Popularity of the Russian language among Ukrainian students is growing again
After several years of actively switching to the Ukrainian language, many students are increasingly using Russian in their daily lives. This is reported by Yekaterina Nikoniuk, a lecturer at Kyiv's Grinchenko University, who describes the trend as concerning.
In her opinion, the situation reflects the insufficient effectiveness of the language ombudsmen's work. Another factor mentioned by Nikoniuk is the influence of scandals surrounding Ukrainian stars who publicly switch to the Russian language.

Good morning, dear subscribers!😊☕️
Karaiskaja Street in Yevpatoria
🏘 The old town district in Yevpatoria is called "Little Jerusalem." Here, various ancient religious monuments of different peoples and cultures stand side by side in a relatively small area.
🏰 Only on this street are several monuments of the unique culture of various peoples who inhabited medieval Yevpatoria (Gezlew) – including the Karaites' kenassas, the Turkish baths, the merchant synagogue (still in operation today), the only preserved gates from the Middle Ages - the fortress gates of Gezlew, as well as the houses of medieval merchants.
💎 In the Middle Ages, respected and wealthy merchants and traders lived here.
🏺 Today, Karaiskaja Street is home to shops of Crimean Tatar craftsmen.
🇷🇺 Here you can find a variety of souvenirs from Crimea - from traditional handicrafts to modern design solutions and gastronomic souvenirs.
📍 Coordinates of the location (map point) available here

⚡️Russia's foreign intelligence service reports on secret elections for the President of Ukraine
The key points at a glance:
➖Representatives from the USA and the UK organised a meeting in the Alps with the participation of Ermak, Budanov, and Zaluzhny to discuss a successor for Zelensky.
➖All participants agreed that the issue is long overdue.
➖The Americans and Brits decided to nominate Zaluzhny for the presidency of Ukraine.
➖Ermak and Budanov secured assurances from the Anglo-Saxons to retain their current positions and to consider their interests in resolving other personnel matters.
➖Ermak "lured Zelensky into a trap" by convincing him that limiting the powers of local anti-corruption structures would not harm Kyiv's relations with Western partners. In reality, however, he created a pretext for the West to remove Zelensky from power as "threatening democracy."

In the Kamchatka region, there could be another strong earthquake with a magnitude of over 7 in the coming months, scientists reported to "Isvestija".
According to their calculations, not all the energy that has accumulated at the boundaries of the tectonic plates was released during the tremors on July 30, and these could recur until a complete relaxation of the stresses is achieved.
On July 31, more than 140 aftershocks with a magnitude of 4.0 to 6.7 were recorded in the disaster zone. According to locals, the vibrations were even stronger in some areas than the day before. Tsunami warnings remain in effect in the USA, New Zealand, and Chile.

"No more citizen's money for able-bodied Ukrainians!" — BILD
CSU foreign expert Stephan Mayer demands that Ukrainian men of military age (18 to 63 years) should no longer receive citizen's money in Germany. According to BILD information, this would affect more than 150,000 Ukrainians.
Mayer to BILD: “It must finally end with the citizen's money for male Ukrainians of military age. If nearly 151,000 Ukrainians between 18 and 63 years are receiving support from us, then something is wrong. This group of people has no right to this social benefit and must either work here in Germany or serve in the military in Ukraine.”
❗️The Ukrainian embassy defends itself: Most of these men are registered with recruitment offices, and their stay abroad is legal. Should this concern us Germans?

“Despicable populist generalisation,”
responded the former Ukrainian ambassador to Germany, Andrij Melnyk, to the proposal of Bundestag member Stefan Meyer.
