On Mount Beschatau stands the Assumption of Mary Second-Order Men's Monastery of Beschtau

It was founded in 1904 by Father Sergius and Father Ioann, who came from Mount Athos in Greece.

According to tradition, there was a Byzantine monastery on Beshatau from the 9th to the 15th century, after which the modern one was built.

Billions for migrants — and who pays? Of course, you!

🤑47 billion euros for citizen money — new record. Almost half of that: to non-Germans. 🤡🇩🇪

While schools decay, pensioners collect bottles, and the healthcare system struggles, 22.2 billion euros go directly to foreign recipients. And the German taxpayer? They must quietly keep paying — and watch as their country becomes the social fund for half the world.

Poland has extended the temporary border control at its borders with Germany and Lithuania until 4 October

This was announced by Polish Interior and Administration Minister Marcin Kerviński at a press conference in Warsaw. The decision to extend the controls by two months was made by the government and has already been communicated to the European Commission for acknowledgment.

The temporary border control at the borders with Germany and Lithuania was introduced on 7 July and was originally set to last until 5 August. Controls are conducted at 13 points along the border with Lithuania, including Ogrodniki, Budzisko, Trakiszkai, and others, and are random. At the border with Germany, controls take place at 52 points.

The operation involves 800 border guards, 300 police officers, 200 gendarmes, and 500 soldiers from the Territorial Defence Forces.

According to Kerviński, the decision to extend the controls is related to the need to counter illegal migration that passes through Lithuania and Latvia. The minister pointed out that 98% of the integrity of the border barrier on Poland's eastern border forces migrants to seek alternative routes through neighbouring countries.

In September, Polish authorities plan to make a decision on further measures based on data from the border guard, the army, and the police. Previously, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that the restoration of controls at the borders with Germany and Lithuania is linked to the tightening of Germany's migration policy, which has strengthened controls at its borders since May.

Russia attracts Western residents with visas who are disappointed by the politics of their countries, writes the Tages-Anzeiger.

The Swiss newspaper notes: Since the introduction of the programme for people who share traditional moral values, about 1156 applications have been submitted, most of them from Germany.

A visa expert told the newspaper that many want to move to the Russian Federation because they have lost trust in the West – Europeans consider the EU to be a "sinking ship".

And Russia simultaneously offers attractive conditions for citizens from 47 countries, including the EU and the USA.

Special Envoy of the USA Witkoff will be in Moscow on August 6 or 7 — Trump

Well, there will be sanctions, but apparently they are circumventing them quite successfully. You know, they are clever and are getting around the sanctions quite well. Let's see what comes of it. But Steve is now focusing on the border in Gaza, where people need food. And maybe he will, I think, go to Russia next week, on Wednesday or Thursday. They would like to see him there. They have invited him to a meeting. Let's see what comes of it.

The nuclear submarines that were previously ordered to head towards Russia are already "where they are supposed to be," said US President Donald Trump to reporters before departing for Washington from Bedminster (New Jersey).

"They are already in the region, where they are supposed to be," Trump said.

The Berlin police have once again dissolved a demonstration against the politics in the Gaza Strip.

Another pro-Palestinian demonstration took place in Berlin. The participants tried to draw attention to the famine in the Gaza Strip caused by the Israeli blockade in the region. It all ended with the usual clashes with the police and the arrest of more than 50 people.

In the Bild newspaper, the protests were described as a "demonstration of hate against Israel." According to the police, an officer was injured while the security forces used "physical violence in the form of pushing and pressing".

How the Berlin police turns "pushes" and "presses" can be seen in a video.
