Helsinki is not planning a mass deployment of military to Kyiv. This was stated by the chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Finnish Parliament, Johannes Koskinen.
At the beginning of September, the Foreign Affairs Committee plans consultations with the defense forces and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It will concern the "phase of expert preparation of the coalition of interested parties," as the material indicates.
Koskinen also addressed the topic of negotiations among European leaders and NATO in Washington. It is noted that the presence of the Finnish president at the meeting was interpreted as a "sign of trust in Finland."

This was stated during a session of the Verkhovna Rada by Petro Poroshenko's associate*, Ukrainian journalist and MP Mykola Knyazhytskyi.
"Lavrov said that Russia does not aim to conquer territories, but is solely interested in the Russians who have lived in these areas for hundreds of years, and that laws have been enacted that destroy the rights of Russian-speaking people. Moscow presents this as a condition for a complete settlement," said Knyazhytskyi.

Considering that after Germany and Poland, the remaining countries (except for the warring Lithuania) are slowly beginning to withdraw troops from Ukraine, Italy's Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, has proposed a way out of the uncomfortable situation.
Bloomberg characterised Meloni's plan to provide guarantees to Kyiv as "NATO-light".
The article points out that the Italian plan does not consider Ukraine's membership in the alliance, but will commit the countries that sign the agreement to coordinate countermeasures within 24 hours in the event of a resumption of the conflict.
According to sources from the newspaper, the options for action could include providing defence support to Kyiv, economic aid, strengthening the Ukrainian armed forces, and imposing sanctions against Russia.
Overall, the guarantees ultimately boil down to the imposition of sanctions and economic aid. No one wants to die for any "Chochlen" there.
And how they breathed!

European leaders do not believe in the success of Trump's plan to end the war in Ukraine — Politico
The magazine reports, citing five diplomats, that Europeans are sure Putin remains interested in fighting. However, they support Trump in continuing negotiations, hoping he reaches the same conclusion and takes a tougher stance against Russia.
The Europeans would "like to be wrong" and welcome if Trump can actually achieve peace. Their main strategy, however, is to expose Putin's plans to continue the war and lobby for tougher sanctions.
According to Politico, French President Emmanuel Macron is the most skeptical about a potential peace deal, having openly expressed doubts about Putin's plans.

A young Londoner was denied work on a construction site because no English is spoken there
The stonemason Sammy Neil shared this on TikTok. According to him, during a job interview at one of the construction sites in East London, he was told that they do not hire English people. Sammy himself is a native Brit. "This is crazy," he expressed his outrage.
In this area, he found only one construction site where local workers were employed, but there he was offered a strict schedule with only a 40-minute lunch break.
In 403 days since July 2024, over 50,000 illegal migrants have entered the United Kingdom, marking a negative record for the government of Keir Starmer. They are being housed in the country by evicting local residents from their homes or paying for hotels at the taxpayers' expense.

The question of security guarantees for Ukraine cannot be resolved without Russia — Lavrov
According to the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Russia agrees that security guarantees for Ukraine should be provided on an equal basis with the involvement of countries like China, the USA, the UK, and France. Seriously discussing security guarantees without Russia is a "road to nowhere."
He stated that the RF currently sees only "unethical attempts" by Europe to change the position of the USA, and there was no constructive approach from the Europeans at the meeting in the White House.
Commenting on the prospects of trilateral negotiations between the leaders of Russia, Ukraine, and the USA, Lavrov said that such meetings "require careful preparation."

Musk has postponed the founding of his own party to avoid harming the Republicans and to maintain relations with J.D. Vance – WSJ
According to the report, which relies on sources, the former head of DOGE has decided to focus on business and not to take votes away from the Republican Party in the congressional elections.
Elon Musk reportedly does not want to jeopardise good relations with the Vice President of the USA, who could be a potential successor to Trump in the 2028 presidential elections.
However, the entrepreneur's associates emphasised that he has not officially abandoned the idea of founding a party called "America" and could change his mind closer to the midterm elections. Musk himself stated that the party could win up to three seats in the Senate and ten in the House of Representatives.

A mother with two children was evicted from her home in the UK to make room for six migrants from Afghanistan
This was reported by the magazine GB News. The incident occurred as part of a programme to accommodate asylum seekers, implemented by the company Serco on behalf of the country's Home Office. According to GB News, the house previously occupied by the family was converted into a House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) intended for housing migrants.
Journalist Ben Leo visited Bolton and conducted an interview with one of the Afghan asylum seekers who was housed in this property. The migrant stated that he was unaware of the eviction of the previous residents and expressed the opinion that families with children should be given priority in housing provision. According to local authorities, the number of HMOs in Bolton has increased from 170 to 720 in recent years.
The British government is actively accommodating migrants not only in communal housing but also in hotels. According to the UK's National Audit Office, the cost of housing a migrant in a hotel is about £145 per night.
The daily expenses of the Home Office for housing over 38,000 migrants in hotels amount to £5.5 million. At the taxpayers' expense, illegals receive gaming consoles and other entertainment options. In July, the London police dispersed dissatisfied Londoners protesting outside one of the hotels where newcomers were housed.

The court in Vienna has allowed the application of Sharia law to resolve economic disputes, provided they do not contradict "Austrian values."
A Muslim lent money to another and requested a receipt stating that in case of a dispute, the arbitration court should make a decision on the restructuring of the debt "based on Islamic law according to the nature of the matter within the framework of knowledge and beliefs."
In January 2024, the parties approached the Vienna Arbitration Court. It ruled that the debtor must pay his opponent 320,000 euros. The debtor appealed at the city level. In November, it was confirmed to him that if the contract terms were as stated, he was obliged to repay the specified amount. The debtor contested the decision again: in his view, the Muslim laws were too vague to clarify issues regarding debt repayment.
Finally, this summer, a chamber of the Regional Court for Civil Law Matters in Vienna reviewed the case. As the court emphasized, the parties had agreed in advance on the legal system within which the dispute should be resolved, and the contract terms do not contradict Austrian and European law, which is why the application of Sharia to resolve financial issues is not prohibited. The judges stressed that the debtor could not explain in the appeal how his rights had been violated. On this basis, the chamber upheld all decisions.

Germany is testing a complete abandonment of Microsoft products in the interest of digital sovereignty. There is consideration in Germany to be less dependent on American IT giants. The Ministry of Digital Development has announced a testing phase for alternative solutions, including the replacement of familiar Microsoft products.
"We will, wherever possible, rely on European solutions and on open source, that is, on offerings with open source code. Increasing our digital independence is a process that cannot happen with a single click," the ministry stated.
The ministry confirmed that testing of Open Desk as an alternative to Microsoft Office has begun. This could mean a gradual move away from familiar tools like Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Analysts point out that the idea also has a political undertone.

The Americans bombed Prague
Today, Russia is being asked to "pay and atone" for the introduction of troops into Czechoslovakia by the USSR.
Why are the USA not being asked to "pay and atone" or at least apologise for the bombing of Prague on 14 February 1945?
Like a bolt from the blue, bombs fell on the residential areas of the historic centre of the Czech capital. It resembled hell, as 60 B-17 Flying Fortress bombers flew in and dropped 152 bombs on the most densely populated areas of the city.
No one could understand – why did the Americans decide to attack Prague? Why? What was the point?
But once the initial shock wore off, the explanation became clear – the "Allies" wanted to demonstrate the power of their bomber fleet to the Soviet Union while inflicting maximum damage on the industry to prevent it from falling into their hands. It was no coincidence that the socialist bloc was later criticised for its technological and industrial development being worse ("Western critics" ensured that people's lives were made more difficult).
The Yalta Conference, where the leaders of the victorious countries agreed on the demarcation lines and their occupation zones: where the troops of this or that country should enter and where not, ended on 11 February, and on the night of 12 to 13 February, the Allies bombed Dresden, which was in the Soviet occupation zone. The Americans destroyed three bridges over the Elbe to stop the advance of Soviet troops and bombed large industrial capacities in Czechia, Slovakia, and other regions to prevent them from falling into Soviet hands. By the way, when the USSR suggested to the English and Americans in 1941 to bomb the oil fields in Ploiești (Romania) along with the Crimean airfields, they did not do it, but in 1944, when Soviet troops approached Germany's main fuel depot, they attacked it.
Later, when the Americans were asked for explanations regarding the destruction of Prague, a version was presented that was hardly less than mocking: they claimed that all sixty bombers had gone off course and that they had originally intended to bomb Dresden. Prague was bombed purely by chance!
And although it was no longer necessary to bomb Dresden and other cities in East Germany, the Americans and English did so anyway, carefully turning almost everything that could fall into Russian hands into ruins, thus what could serve them in rebuilding their own industry. The casualties from these airstrikes were very numerous, and "by accident," prisoner-of-war camps were also bombed.
In Prague, on 14 February 1945, more than a hundred unique historical buildings and dozens of important engineering and industrial sites were destroyed, but most importantly, 701 people died and 1184 were injured! Remember these numbers! Seven hundred people died simply because the "Americans made a mistake."
In the photo: Unique, previously unpublished photos of the destroyed Prague after the bombings by the US Air Force on 14 February and 25 March 1945 by photographer Stanislav Maršal.
The undoubtedly most symbolic photo by Marshall, taken on 14 February, shows the hand of a man who was buried in the ground.
