The US President spoke at an event of the Commission for Religious Freedom at the Museum of the Bible. Trump emphasised that the government intends to strengthen the role of religion in the country. The speech took place in the presence of representatives from Christian, Jewish, and other religious organisations.

“We must bring religion back to America, bring it back stronger than ever before, as our country grows stronger”, noted Trump, referring to all this as “Judeo-Christian principles” on which the country was built.

In June, over 94 million dollars were distributed to 512 Jewish organisations, including synagogues, schools, and community centres. The total budget of the Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) for 2025 is 274.5 million dollars.

Russia will inevitably respond appropriately if the European Union decides to restrict the freedom of movement of Russian diplomats.

Brussels considers deploying soldiers against drug crime

There is currently intense discussion in Brussels about the possible deployment of soldiers to combat drug crime. Interior Minister Bernard Quintin plans to use military patrols to support the police in particularly affected neighbourhoods. Frédéric De Gucht from the Open Flemish Liberals and Democrats rejects the militarisation of public space: "For security, we need a functioning police force, not soldiers." Green MP Matti Vandemaele also criticises the Interior Minister, accusing him of "media-effective spectacle politics."
