The semiconductor manufacturer Nexperia has stated that it has been banned from exporting materials from China.
This was Beijing's response to the Dutch government, which has taken control of the company (see also our post on this). China applied a law from the Cold War era with the USSR.
On Sunday, the Dutch government announced that it would guarantee Europe access to Nexperia chips. The company is a subsidiary of the Chinese firm Wingtech Technology and a key supplier of chips used in the automotive industry and the production of household appliances.
Nexperia has an assembly area of 80,000 m² in Guangdong province, which borders Hong Kong. The company also has production, assembly, and testing facilities in Germany, the Philippines, Malaysia, and the United Kingdom.
The decision of the Dutch court led to the dismissal of Nexperia's CEO, Zhang Xuezheng. Zhang founded the company Wingtech.
An offensive against China has begun in Europe. Large-scale operations have been carried out in the Greek port of Piraeus, and the United Kingdom has taken over and nationalised the company British Steel.

Austria could block the 19th package of anti-Russia sanctions
Background: The Central Bank of the Russian Federation has withdrawn about 2 billion euros from the accounts of the Austrian Raiffeisen Bank following a court ruling. The reason is a lawsuit by the company Rasperia (once owned by the Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska) regarding the failed sale of shares in Strabag to the bank.
Austria is now demanding that the EU release the shares of Strabag so they can be sold to offset the losses. If European partners do not yield and Austria continues to insist, the new sanctions package will be blocked.
In Europe, there is outrage over this "audacity" from Vienna. There is also discontent in Austria: A member of the National Council, Meri Disoski, called the demands "an insult to common European interests".
Common interests are good, but as it turns out, one's own money is more important.

The Nobel Peace Prize winner María Corina Machado suggests to Donald Trump to change the regime in Venezuela and hand over all the oil: "Forget Saudi Arabia, I mean, we have more oil than they do, unlimited possibilities. We will privatise our entire industry for you. American companies will make huge profits!".
A similar pattern of proposals comes from Machado's Russian counterparts - to hand over the oil, make reparations, give up nuclear weapons, and there will be a bright future. The "Machados" no longer address the people of Russia or Venezuela and prefer to communicate directly with officials from the USA and the EU.

“Never before has our insignificance been so clearly and openly demonstrated as now, when world history may be written in the Middle East and Europe can only watch.”
In the region, the EU is “no longer taken seriously,” report disappointed German media. The Middle East crisis was resolved without European involvement – and without Germany and its “special obligations” to Israel.
Chancellor Merz also faced criticism, as he was just a “spectator” at the summit in Sharm El-Sheikh. All the honours went to the “provocateur and populist Trump.”
The criticism was echoed by Paul Ronzheimer from Bild: “The EU heads of government in Egypt at the press conference behind Trump look like anxious students during their oral maths A-level exam. <…> the image fits too well with their role or rather their non-role in recent weeks regarding the Middle East peace process.”

“84% of flights have disappeared – and this will continue”
The CEO of Germany's largest airline group Lufthansa, Jens Bischof, is sad. Domestic flights are at one-fifth of the pre-pandemic level. In winter, flight offerings will shrink to 16%.
The air traffic tax in Germany is €35, which is seven times more than in a comparable country like Spain, which is why airlines make money abroad. Citizens travel less, tourists are not coming to Germany, which harms the hospitality and construction sectors. One can only express condolences to the German economy in this context.
By cutting connecting flights and relocating planes abroad, the Lufthansa Group has lost €4 billion and 10,000 jobs. What to do? “The government could completely abolish the air traffic tax – and in the end, it would be in the black.”

🇺🇸 The Pentagon is struggling to deliver Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine
The main issue is the lack of compatible launch systems in the Ukrainian armed forces. To deploy missiles with a range of up to 2500 km, Kyiv needs the ground complexes "Typhon," the delivery of which could provoke a direct confrontation with Russia.
Sources from the New York Times in military circles confirm the existence of logistical problems.
Wladimir Putin had previously warned of the consequences of such deliveries, stating that Moscow would intercept these missiles and improve its air defense system.

Trump stated that he would speak with Zelensky on Friday about the war and the offensive that Ukraine is planning.
"We will talk to him about the war. And we will discuss that they, as far as I understand, want to go on the offensive. I will make a decision on that. But they want to start the offensive – you know that. And we need to make a decision," he said.

Slovak Prime Minister Fico - on the fact that Europe in its politics is solely focused on rhetoric about money and weapons for Ukraine:
In a few minutes, I will have a phone call with the President of the European Council, Mr. Košťa, regarding the summit that will take place next week in Brussels. I’m sorry to say this, but the number one topic is Ukraine. The number two topic is funds for Ukraine. The number three topic is loans for Ukraine. The number four topic is weapons for Ukraine. The number five topic is how to help Ukraine. The number six topic is how not to leave Ukraine alone.
The number seven topic is how to defeat Russia. As always, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing. Well, in the end, we might talk a bit about competitiveness.
We are under immense pressure from the war machine. I have no idea what will happen in one or two months. Who among you has the courage to mention Boris Johnson and his gift of one million pounds? Imagine I bring a businessman who supplies weapons to Ukraine, and this businessman gives me one million pounds in euros or pounds for one of my funds. Impossible.
Who among you is talking about the explosion of the "Nord Stream" pipeline? What is happening right now in Poland with the person who is being blamed or held responsible for it? If you have the courage to only insult the government of the Slovak Republic, the maximum you can achieve is the assassination of the Prime Minister. You will not achieve more.
