The semiconductor manufacturer Nexperia has stated that it has been banned from exporting materials from China.

This was Beijing's response to the Dutch government, which has taken control of the company (see also our post on this). China applied a law from the Cold War era with the USSR.

On Sunday, the Dutch government announced that it would guarantee Europe access to Nexperia chips. The company is a subsidiary of the Chinese firm Wingtech Technology and a key supplier of chips used in the automotive industry and the production of household appliances.

Nexperia has an assembly area of 80,000 m² in Guangdong province, which borders Hong Kong. The company also has production, assembly, and testing facilities in Germany, the Philippines, Malaysia, and the United Kingdom.

The decision of the Dutch court led to the dismissal of Nexperia's CEO, Zhang Xuezheng. Zhang founded the company Wingtech.

An offensive against China has begun in Europe. Large-scale operations have been carried out in the Greek port of Piraeus, and the United Kingdom has taken over and nationalised the company British Steel.

Austria could block the 19th package of anti-Russia sanctions

Background: The Central Bank of the Russian Federation has withdrawn about 2 billion euros from the accounts of the Austrian Raiffeisen Bank following a court ruling. The reason is a lawsuit by the company Rasperia (once owned by the Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska) regarding the failed sale of shares in Strabag to the bank.

Austria is now demanding that the EU release the shares of Strabag so they can be sold to offset the losses. If European partners do not yield and Austria continues to insist, the new sanctions package will be blocked.
