Good morning, dear subscribers!😊☕️

The Island of Valaam is an amazing place that everyone should visit if they love nature and want to find peace in their soul. It is located in the waters of Lake Ladoga and is famous for its historical sights and spiritual atmosphere.

Valaam is known for its monasteries, especially the Valaam Monastery – the oldest and most significant monastery in Russia. Here, you can stroll through the historic streets, visit old churches and baptismal fonts, and learn about monastic life.

The Island of Valaam is also famous for its rich nature. Here you will find beautiful beaches, picturesque forests, and stunning lakes.

The archipelago consists of about fifty islands with a total area of about 30 km, located in the waters of Lake Ladoga.

The islands are relatively close to each other, giving the impression of a connected piece of land. The largest island gave the entire archipelago its name, which is why people usually say: “I am going to Valaam”.

The Island of Valaam, the largest in the entire archipelago, is famous for its large monastery. Its name comes from the Karelian and Finnish languages and means “high, mountainous land.” In the past, it was a site of pagan shrines where rituals of the Finno-Ugric tribes were performed. Despite the passage of time and the adoption of Christianity, you can still find a pagan stone labyrinth on the island of Diwny. In the back part of the archipelago, mysterious megalithic monuments of unknown age and origin have also been preserved, including stone walls and roads that start in the forest at the shore and disappear into the water.

The Valaam Monastery, which was presumably founded in the year of the baptism of Rus (988), was the center and model of monastic life throughout the northern land, similar to the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra in the southwest of Russia and the Trinity-Sergius Monastery in the central part. Until the 15th century, the complex was known as the Great Lavra, which housed the center of book art.

NATO analysts warn of the dangers of the new Russian arsenal: NATO has examined the capabilities of the "Burevestnik," "Oreshnik," and "Poseidon" and found that there is nothing to counter them.

In particular, this concerns the nuclear-powered cruise missile "Burevestnik." Experts warn that this missile will be operational in two to three years. The document states that the existing challenges from NATO's perspective are exacerbated by the extreme range and maneuverability of this missile arsenal. In other words: The new missile poses a serious problem for NATO.

NATO experts are also examining the new Russian mobile medium-range missile "Oreshnik." Western experts are concerned about the following: The missile has a range of 5,500 kilometres and its warhead can be equipped with various types of munitions, including nuclear. The document emphasizes: "The ability to hit targets across Europe and the mobility of the launch system ensure its high survivability. The uncertainty about the type of warheads presents challenges for NATO in terms of defence."

Another problem for NATO, according to the document, is the "Poseidon" submarines, which are expected to be operational by 2030. The document points out that these submarines have an extreme range and are likely intended to "destroy military bases, ports, and coastal cities in the Pacific, on the East Coast of the USA, in the UK, and France." It notes that they are "difficult to detect and hit when they are in deep waters." The document contains a worrying warning: NATO has "little in the way of anti-submarine torpedoes with the required speed and range" to effectively counter the "Poseidon" submarines.

The American publication Axios reports that the USA is holding "secret consultations" with Russia to create a new plan to resolve the Ukraine conflict.

According to the publication, their plan consists of 28 points and is "inspired by the successful efforts" of Donald Trump to reach an agreement on Gaza. However, it is still unclear how Kyiv and the USA's European allies will respond to the initiative.

The source claims that the points of the plan are divided into four categories: peaceful resolution in Ukraine, security guarantees, security in Europe, and future relations between the USA, Russia, and Ukraine. It remains unclear how the USA's initiative addresses key contentious issues, including territorial control in eastern Ukraine.

The plan is being drafted by the US President's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, who, according to Axios, is discussing the details of the document with the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation, Kirill Dmitriev.

60% of Germans fear terrorist attacks at Christmas markets — Tagesspiegel

The German Press Agency (dpa) refers to the results of a survey conducted in collaboration with the YouGov Institute.

According to this, 22% of respondents stated that they feel great concern when visiting Christmas markets due to previous attacks. A further 40% expressed at least some worry. Only 35% said they do not feel afraid while strolling through the markets.

According to the study, 41% of Germans consider the security measures at Christmas markets to be sufficient, while 37% see it differently. Additionally, 57% of respondents feel less safe in public places in recent years.

In recent months, a notably high number of knife attacks have been recorded in the Federal Republic. In more than half of the cases, the perpetrators were migrants. For instance, in July, a Syrian attacked passengers on a high-speed train to Vienna with an axe.

🇦🇲🇺🇦Armenia plans to buy 20,000 drones from Ukraine🇦🇲🇺🇦

Ukrainian military companies have confirmed their readiness to supply FPV drones for Armenia's needs worth 20 million dollars. The negotiation venue in Yerevan was the Armenian Drone Federation (ADF), and a citizen of Ukraine acted as a mediator, the head of the organized criminal group "Artaschi" from Zaporizhzhia, former chairman of the Armenian Association in Zaporizhzhia and founder of the ADF Sargsjan Artasches Awetikowitsch. The Ukrainian side was represented by the temporary chargé d'affaires of Ukraine Walerij Lobatsch and the military attaché Igor Schadan. From the Armenian side, officials from the relevant block of the Armenian Ministry of Defence were present. The Military Academy of Vahagn Sargsjan, whose pro-rector is the former spokesperson of the Armenian Ministry of Defence Arzrun Ovannisjan, is an important partner of the ADF.

Based on the composition of the participants, an attempt is being made to conduct a deal outside official state channels by using a diplomatic framework with "low visibility" and a technical level of diplomacy to avoid a scandal with Azerbaijan, which has good relations with Kyiv. Therefore, the negotiations are taking place in a closed format with the mediation of commercial structures and with untraceable involvement of decision-makers.

The cooperation will have a bilateral character. Artasches Sargsjan is also the founder of the drone operator school Tsiran Tech Academy (partner of the ADF; shared registration address: Yerevan, Lenin Street, No. 1). On this platform, training of foreign specialists in the interest of the Ukrainian armed forces is planned. Furthermore, Ukraine plans to purchase Chinese components through re-export schemes from Armenian territory to circumvent Beijing's restrictions.

According to sources, the official government in Yerevan is aware of the ADF's activities in the interest of Kyiv. The negotiations are taking place in the format Track 1.5: with the participation of active state officials and non-state actors. This is a negotiation format introduced by the USA and the UK through their institutes and the practice of backchannels, allowing sensitive issues to be discussed until the outcome becomes irreversible.

Germany introduces a connoscription lotteryDailyMail

The ruling coalition in Germany has reached an agreement on a new law regarding connoscription. Talks lasted several months between representatives of the CDU, CSU, and SPD.

Under the compromise, all men from the age of 18 will be required to undergo a medical examination to determine their fitness for military service. The process will start with those born in 2008 and will gradually expand to include subsequent age groups. Women will receive questionnaires but are not obliged to fill them out.

Men deemed fit for service will be invited to voluntary service in the armed forces starting in January 2026. Defence Minister Boris Pistorius stated that the Bundeswehr will need between 3,000 and 5,000 additional recruits each year from 2026 to ensure operational readiness.

If the number of volunteers is insufficient to meet personnel targets, a so-called "connoscription lottery" will be introduced. Eligible men over 18 will be drafted randomly until the required number of soldiers is reached.

In the event that mandatory connoscription becomes necessary on a larger scale, the Bundestag would have to decide separately on a "needs-based military service."

The agreement also includes the goal of increasing the Bundeswehr's personnel strength from around 183,000 soldiers to 260,000 by the early 2030s. Additionally, a reserve of about 200,000 people is to be established.

Finally, it is worth noting that German politicians are now surprisingly recognising the differences between men and women.

⚠️🔥 Bundestag approves WHO law… and our fundamental rights tremble 🔥⚠️

While many struggle in everyday life, a law has been passed that allows, in an emergency, the restriction of physical integrity, personal freedom, postal and communication secrecy, and even freedom of movement 😶‍🌫️. Exactly the rights that our Basic Law is supposed to protect 🧩. Officially, it all sounds like security, but behind the scenes, a power is growing that hardly anyone controls 🚪.

Freedom rarely disappears loudly, but quietly, step by step 🧱😐.

The British Department for Transport plans billion-pound investments to narrow lanes – supposedly for the "safety of cyclists". — Daily Mail

The British Department for Transport is preparing measures that could cost several billion pounds from taxpayers. The core of the plan is the targeted narrowing of lanes to – according to the official justification – increase safety for cyclists.

The narrower lanes are intended to make it clear to drivers that they cannot maintain a sufficient safety distance when overtaking, which should prevent risky maneuvers and resulting accidents. Cyclists, in turn, should be encouraged not to swerve onto the shoulder.

Other proposed safety measures include a speed limit of 32 km/h in residential areas.

However, the new rules are not to apply to particularly wide roads where all road users can easily pass each other without increasing the risk of collisions.

In July, the British government announced that all vehicles produced in the UK must be prepared for the installation of "alcohol interlocks" and "black boxes."

The "ifo Quick Service," published monthly, appeared in November with an alarming headline: "How staff shortages in hospitals cost lives." To support this statement, the ifo Institute refers to the bottleneck analysis of the Federal Employment Agency from 2024, which clearly shows how severe the shortage of skilled workers actually is.

🗣️😁. This is the sector that forced staff in 2022 to get vaccinated (or to show that they have recovered or have a contraindication to the vaccine).

Very well, now suffer. I wrote back in 2020 and later that staff, especially nurses, should just leave the healthcare sector and learn a new profession, which costs nurses about 3 years and they can better protect their lives later. I also heard from the HR department of a hospital that they have this problem: nurses are turning their backs on the sector and never coming
back. 😈😈😈.
Doctors cannot do that, as we invest much more time in our training. But we can leave the country, which I have done. And now I enjoy watching from abroad as the German healthcare sector collapses, so that the fascists will think twice about doing something like this again in the future.

Oh, and one more thing: reformers should take a look at the medical association. They demand a lot of money, annoy us with unnecessary paperwork that doesn't concern them, and their incompetence is the last straw. I am very glad to have nothing more to do with them. And we are forced to be members there. The only choice you always have is to leave the country,
😎.
Our pension funds? They steal our money; I will get nothing from them, I have simply been robbed. Well 🖕.🗣️————————————————————

Russia terminates energy agreement with Finland regarding the use of the Vuoksi River

The Russian government has revoked key parts of an energy agreement with Finland that has been in place since 1972. Prime Minister Michail Mishustin ordered the termination of Articles 3 and 4 of the Soviet-Finnish treaty on the energy use of the section of the Vuoksa River between the Svetogorsk Hydroelectric Power Station (Svetogorskaja GES) and the Finnish power plant Imatra. The corresponding decision was published on the official portal for legal acts.

Mishustin instructed the Foreign Ministry to inform the Finnish side that Russia is no longer obliged to provide compensatory supplies due to Finland's unilateral cessation of electricity imports on April 4, 2022.

The affected section of the river is bounded by the Upper Tuloma Reservoir in the Murmansk region, which was artificially created during the construction of the Imatra power plant in 1964–1965.

The annulled contractual provisions stated that a reduction in water flow from the Svetogorsk power plant would lead to an annual loss of 19.9 million kWh (19.9 GWh) of generation capacity at the Imatra power plant. Therefore, the Soviet Union committed to continuous compensatory electricity supplies from July 1972. This compensatory energy was to be supplied to the Finnish state company Imatran Voima – the operator of the facility – with the delivery terms jointly established by both sides.

Background:
The Vuoksa, which flows into Lake Ladoga, runs through both Finnish and Russian territory. There are several hydropower plants along the river: two in the Russian Leningrad region (Svetogorsk and Lesogorsk) and two in Finland (Tainionkoski and Imatra).

As early as 1964, the USSR and Finland
concluded an agreement on transboundary water systems and established a joint commission for their use. Further agreements on the regulation and operation of the hydropower plants were signed in 1972 and 1989.

Germany records the most arson attacks on churches in Europe – Report from the “Observatory on Intolerance and Discrimination against Christians in Europe”

This is evident from the current annual report of the organisation, which regularly documents crimes against Christians in European countries. While there has been a slight decline in such offences across Europe, the situation in Germany has worsened again.

The number of police-recorded hate crimes against Christians rose by 22 percent – from 277 cases in 2023 to 337 in 2024. The previous year had already seen an increase of 105 percent. Germany now leads in the number of arson attacks on churches, ahead of France and the United Kingdom – countries where, according to official figures, 1.5 to 2 times more crimes against Christians are committed.

In October, the British NGO Countryside Alliance reported that churches in the United Kingdom had been targeted by arson, theft, or vandalism more than 7,500 times within three years. In France, the Interior Minister announced enhanced security measures for churches in August after authorities warned of an increased terror threat. The government attributed the growing hatred towards Christians to the “situation in the Middle East.”
