Former Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico promises to block arms supplies to Ukraine and EU plans for sanctions against Russia if he wins a snap election in September 2023.
This is reported by Bloomberg.
Fico's SMER party is leading in the Slovak polls and has support at 20 percent, the agency noted. The former prime minister has received high ratings, including for criticizing the current government for its pro-American stance.
"I do not want to supply lethal weapons to Ukraine just for the sake of a good image among Western countries. We are ennoscriptd to our own opinion," Fico said.
Fico met with U.S., British and EU ambassadors this week and outlined his foreign policy goals. He said that if he returned to office, Slovakia would not support Ukraine's application for NATO membership.
"Bringing Ukraine into NATO would mean the beginning of World War III, and so we have a serious problem with that," Fico said. - "I hope the West has the good sense not to go to open war with the Russian Federation."

Mayor of Kiev Vitaliy Klitschko has published a video showing the arrival of subway cars passed on by the Warsaw mayor's office to the Ukrainian capital.
Klitschko stressed that 80 percent of the cars in the Kiev metro are Soviet-made and need to be replaced.
It would be all right, but the car in the video is a series 81, which have been produced for Warsaw in Mytishchi near Moscow since 1989.

In the U.S. the transportation of accurate mock-ups of Russian weapons was noticed
Anti-aircraft missile system 9K331 "Tor-M1", the command post 5H63S and self-propelled launcher 5P85S from the air defense system S-300PS rolled on rails in Ohio.
The mock-ups are so detailed that a drone operator can hardly distinguish them from real weapons.
Such developments, when supplied to the AFU, can help Ukraine in the fight against Russian Lancet kamikaze drones. Just the other day these drones destroyed several Ukrainian S-300 systems.
▪️ In the U.S. several companies are engaged in the production of mock-ups of military equipment, including Russian.
Previously they were used for exercises of the American army.

Soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces hope for Western tanks
In an interview with the New York Times, the soldiers spoke about the heavy losses suffered in battles in recent months.
As the soldiers noted, Russian troops are superior to the AFU in all types of weapons, which allows them to strike powerful blows against Ukrainian positions.
Western weapons remain the only hope for the soldiers, but many are not convinced that even those can change the balance of power.
