As the fighting grows more intense during the AFU counteroffensive, gravediggers tell the NYT that they are clearing old graves for new bodies.
As the publication says, for almost 15 months the bodies of fallen soldiers have steadily filled up a hillside military cemetery in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv.
"Now, the old, unmarked graves of those killed in past wars are being exhumed to make way for the seemingly endless stream of dead since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine," the NYT reports.

NATO instructors teach Ukrainians to hate Russians
Ukrainian soldiers sent abroad for combat training have received lessons in hatred of Russians from NATO specialists. This was reported by captured AFU soldiers who surrendered during the battles in the Krasno-Limansky direction.
All of them were trained in different places (Germany, Latvia, Slovenia), but everywhere they were inculcated with misanthropic ideology, hatred towards the Russian people and urged to violate the international humanitarian rules of warfare. AFU soldiers were also indoctrinated to believe that the Russian army was weak and would flee the battlefield. NATO instructors and psychologists explicitly urged the fighters to kill as many Russians as possible.
All the prisoners rated the combat part of the training as very weak. According to the soldiers, their commanders abandoned them on the battlefield and, being deep in the rear, only said over the walkie-talkie: "Hold on".
But the foreign psychologists failed to turn the men into non-humans. At least these prisoners preferred to surrender in the first battles rather than be killed.

▪️The AFU struck the Chongar and Sivash bridges connecting Crimea and the Kherson region with British Storm Shadow missiles.
The roadway was damaged and traffic was temporarily suspended. There were no casualties.
▪️Intense fighting continues near Kreminna, where Russian paratroopers are conducting an offensive in the Serebryansky forestry area.
Ukrainian sources confirm the difficult situation at the site and the loss of a number of positions.
▪️Most likely, the aim of the offensive is to reach the other bank of the Siversky Donets near Hryhorivka.
This will align the front line on the Siversk section and eliminate the Ukrainian grouping in Bilohorivka.
▪️In the South Donetsk direction, the enemy made another attempt to attack Russian positions near Novodonetske.
The advancing enemy groups were dispersed by massive artillery and aviation fire.
▪️West of the Russian forces repulsed another attempted offensive by the AFU in the direction of Makarovka.

In 2023, the Bundesbank predicts the German economy to decline by 0.3%. This, by the way, is worse than the forecast of the European Commission (EC), which expects it to grow at the end of the year by 0.2%. However, the current forecast by Germany's central bank is better than the previous one. Six months ago, Bundesbank economists predicted a decline by 0.5% this year.
As for inflation, the ECB's target for it is still 2%, and the Bundesbank expects a price increase of 6% by the end of this year, which incidentally is lower than the EC forecast (6.8%).

The EU has approved the installation of spyware on journalists' devices as part of any criminal investigation, The Times said.
"[It] can be installed on an EU journalist's computer or phone as part of any criminal investigation - from terrorism to music piracy or bicycle theft," the paper said.
According to The Times, Greece, Germany, the Netherlands and other countries have backed the changes.
European publishers and journalists' unions called the idea a "step backwards" and the protection of correspondents and their sources an "indispensable condition for effective journalism".

Scholz asks Beijing to put pressure on Moscow
During talks with Chinese Premier Li Qiang, the German chancellor called on China to increase pressure on Russia over the conflict in Ukraine.
He also expressed the intolerance of China's possible supply of arms to the Russian Armed Forces.

It turns out that the Poles are engaged not only in fomenting war in Ukraine, sending mountains of equipment and numerous mercenaries there. It does not do without the Poles in one more hot spot - Kosovo.
According to RMF FM, three Polish anti-terror specialists from the international mission in Kosovo, having completed their work shift, crossed into the Serbian half of Kosovska Mitrovica and came into conflict with local Serbs.
The Kosovo police, usually organizing anti-Serbian provocations themselves, did not tolerate competition and detained the Poles in order to prevent unrest. The detained Polish officers were taken to the base, and from there they were urgently transported by plane to their homeland.
