Russia ambassador Warns U.S. Senators Are Pushing the World towards Nuclear War

U.S. senators Lindsey Graham and Richard Blumenthal have introduced a resolution in the Senate that allows to consider "Moscow's use of nuclear weapons" in Ukraine as an attack on NATO.

The resolution notes that this would lead to "the dispersal of radiation into NATO territory with significant harm to human life" and should lead to "an immediate response, including implementation of Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty."

The senators believe such an initiative should send a signal to Russia that the use of nuclear weapons will escalate the conflict.

Russia Ambassador to the U.S. Anatoly Antonov criticized U.S. authorities, saying that the author of the resolution "seeks to draw the U.S. even deeper into the conflict in Ukraine.

"We have not violated a single international obligation. We have done exactly what the Americans have been doing for decades, placing nuclear bombs on the territories of their European allies," Antonov said.
