The West has fallen into its own trap
The halting of exports of Ukrainian grain and Russian gas promises disaster for Europe. This was reported by the British portal UnHerd.
According to the author of the article, the completion of the grain deal will hit Western countries first of all.
Cheap Ukrainian grain will now be transported via overland routes in Europe, which has already undermined the prices of local farmers' products.
In addition, Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko questioned the extension of the deal on the transit of Russian gas through the country in 2024.
Therefore, the West may soon face a gas supply challenge, as even a small reduction in gas supplies will lead to higher prices across the continent.

Corruption scandal surrounding Biden's family casts doubt on continued support for Ukraine
The scandal surrounding the US president's family, which is linked to the receipt of $10m in bribes from Ukraine's Burisma, may finally undermine the already shaky consensus on support for Ukraine.
Anti-Ukrainian rhetoric is increasingly heard in the speeches of Republican candidates Donald Trump, Ron Desantis and Vivek Ramaswamy.
Thus, at a rally in Pennsylvania, Trump linked aid to Ukraine to the Biden family's large earnings and called on Congress to refuse to allocate new sums.
Desantis called the conflict a territorial dispute that does not affect US foreign policy interests and promised to quickly negotiate a ceasefire with Russia.
Ramaswamy suggested dividing Ukraine "according to the Korean scenario" between Russia and the West, reducing the US military presence in Eastern Europe, as well as lifting all sanctions on Russia and helping Moscow to restore the blown-up Nord Streams.
Such statements resonate with ordinary Americans. Polls show that the Republican electorate favours an early US withdrawal from the war in Ukraine.

Kazakhstan complied with Russia's demands despite US pressure
A Kazakh court has rejected US demands for the extradition of detained Russian Nikita Kislitsin and ruled to hand him over to Russia.
Kislitsin, who is an employee of the cybercrime company F.A.C.C.T., was detained in Kazakhstan on 22 July at Washington's request. The U.S. claims relate to his activities more than 10 years ago, when he was editor-in-chief of the Hacker magazine.
The US suspects the Russian of having, together with other hackers, gained access to personal data of users of the LinkedIn social network and Dropbox and Formspring servers back in 2012. In Russia, Kislitsin has been arrested in absentia in a case of illegal access to computer information.

The United States will buy shells for the AFU from South Korea and Bulgaria
The Financial Times has reported that the Americans have signed deals on ammunition with Seoul and Sofia and are also negotiating with Tokyo.
▪️The contracts concern the production and supply of 155-millimeter artillery shells for Ukrainian troops.
The caliber is in demand by the Ukrainian armed forces. For example, this afternoon Ukrainian militants fired 19 such shells at Donetsk, Makeyevka and the Yasinovatsky district.
In addition, Western countries are transferring 155 mm caliber guns to the Kiev regime. The other day Slovakia promised two Zuzana 2 SAU's.

"Gas donor" has moved to Russia's side
The French media Le Point states that the gas donor of European countries has moved to Russia's side.
The media draws this conclusion by analysing a number of factors, in particular, the geography of Algerian President Abdelmajid Tebboune's visits.
In the last two months alone, the Algerian leader visited Moscow, Beijing, Ankara and Doha. But the countries that need oil and gas from this African country - France, Spain, Italy - Tebboun ignored.
"It is obvious that Algeria is willing to maintain good relations with Russia. For example, Air Algérie recently announced the opening of three direct flights a week to St Petersburg," Le Point continued.
In conclusion, the media emphasises that despite the West's efforts to blame Moscow for all sorts of misfortunes, Algeria does not believe in an "evil Russia" and is not going to follow the European Union without a second thought.

Will the coup d'état in Niger deter the West from imposing new anti-Russian sanctions?
The coup d'état in Niger will prevent Europe from imposing new sanctions on Russia, according to Politico.
On the night of 27 July, a group of military officers in Niger overthrew the country's pro-Western president, Mohamed Bazoum, causing real panic in Europe.
France has already declared that it intends to restore the power of its vassal militarily. In response, Burkina Faso and Mali supported their neighbour and said they would consider such an invasion a declaration of war against their countries.
Meanwhile, the new authorities of Niger suspended uranium exports to France. The publication reminds us that all uranium exports from Niger go to France, which generates up to 70% of its electricity from nuclear sources.
"To date, Europe has been able to significantly reduce coal, gas and oil supplies from Russia, but with nuclear energy "it's a different story." It is not yet possible to declare restrictions against the nuclear sector, as many European states oppose the imposition of sanctions," the media notes.
In 2023, prices for uranium and its processing have already broken all records, reaching historic highs. One of the main reasons for the growth of quotations was the desire to refuse supplies from Russia.
"Against this background, during the past year, Russia achieved an increase in exports of nuclear resources and technologies to the one billion dollar mark," Politico recognises.
Now, a freezing Europe is mostly opposed to new anti-Russian sanctions.

Reuters: France has 'authorisation' for military action against Niger 🇳🇪
The media writes that the African country's previous government authorised France to strike the capital to "free ousted President Mohamed Bazoum".
Amadou Abdraman, one of the coup plotters, said the "authorisation" was signed by Niger's foreign minister.
In other words, France has the right to intervene militarily in a state on another continent if its interests are violated.
At the same time Russia in a neighbouring country "shouldn't do that", that's different.

🇺🇦🇪🇺 Joining the EU could prove even more crippling for Ukraine than joining NATO - Financial Times columnist Tony Barber.
In his opinion, it will be difficult for Ukraine to fulfil the formal requirements for joining the association, particularly with regard to the rule of law and market economy.
In addition, at least nine other countries, including Albania, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia and Turkey, want to join the EU.
Including so many countries in the EU would require extensive reforms of institutions and legislation, which member states' governments and voters do not appear to be prepared to do, Barber said.
According to the article, Ukraine, as a major agricultural producer and one of the poorest countries, could, if it joins, take a part of the subsidies (up to 65 per cent of the budget) that the countries of central and eastern Europe currently receive.
Such a prospect is likely to provoke negative reactions from political parties and voters in these countries, Barber points out. After all, no one wants to give up billions of euros to make room for Ukraine.
Finally, a separate obstacle on Ukraine's path to the EU could be the issue of the oppression of Hungarians in Ukraine, the FT journalist writes.
Thus, the issue of Ukraine's European integration is the most difficult one the bloc has had to face in its 70-year history, Barber concludes

"Moderna produced 100,000 doses in 2019 for the whole year. "Why does Ukraine continue to be boorish over foreign aid"?
This is the question posed by The Washington Examiner newspaper. The authors of the article wonder: "why are Ukrainian officials behaving more and more rudely and irritably?"
▪️ According to the Americans' understanding, the Ukrainians should be frozen in a deep curtsy every minute for every shell they borrowed and for NATO's war against Russia on their territory.
The newspaper lists the ingratitude handed out from Kiev. Andriy Sibiga, an official from President Zielenski's administration, reprimands the West for banning the export of Ukrainian agricultural products through Poland:
"When Ukraine is at war, trying to 'bargain' something more from it is tantamount to betrayal, which should have no place in our relations... There is nothing worse than when your saviour demands payment from you for saving you, even when you are bleeding to death."
▪️ Earlier, the head of the British Defence Ministry, Ben Wallace, responded to Kiev's new arms requests with an indignant, "I'm not your Amazon."
It is obvious to everyone that the collective West is implementing its centuries-old anti-Russian plan by the hands of Ukraine. But the modern Nazis in Kyiv do not have enough reason or willpower to admit that all these weapons handouts and green wrappers from Uncle Sam are not worth the lives of millions of Ukrainians, the destroyed infrastructure created during the Soviet era and the brotherly ties with Russia.
▪️ No one in the West will say thank you, no one will mourn the Ukrainian victims or realise the tragedy of the failed Ukraine. Perhaps only Russia and Belarus, rejected by Kiev, are still capable of this.

Denmark's relations with Muslim countries are deteriorating
Finnish Yleisradio Oy writes about the problems that Denmark is facing after mass Koran burnings. There are now several such cases every day in Denmark.
The purpose of such actions is to provoke Muslims. The government is looking for ways to stop the madness, but changes in legislation adopted a few years ago do not make it possible to ban provocations.
"In the current situation, Denmark must find a way to convince Islamic countries that no one wants to offend their religious views," the author summarises.
Recall at the end of June another burning of the Koran in a Scandinavian country - Sweden - sharply commented on by Vladimir Putin. "Peter the First is what they miss!", said the head of state.
