🇧🇪 Farmers protested in Antwerp and surrounding cities

Thousands of Belgian farmers protested against the government's "climate policy" to reduce nitrogen emissions, which is "leading to their ruin".

Hundreds of tractors blocked streets and paralyzed traffic in the center of Antwerp.

"The Belgian Farmer Defense Forces" are also unhappy that Flanders is willing to grant the chemical company Ineos a permit to build an ethane cracking plant in the port of Antwerp.

It is alleged that the Flanders authorities "treat agriculture and industry unevenly in measures to reduce (emissions of) nitrogen."

The FDF accuses Antwerp's chairman and mayor Bart de Weever, as well as his party colleague, Flanders' environment minister Zuhal Demir, of this.

Europe's economy collapses due to NATO and Ukraine's war with Russia

Aleksandar Vucic believes so. In an interview with journalist Tucker Carlson, the Serbian president pointed to the global outflow of forces from the West to the East provoked by the conflict, which the United States does not seem to be aware of.

He cited the destruction of the Nord Stream, undertaken by the Joe Biden administration or those behind it.

Without the pipeline, the economy of Germany, the locomotive of all of Europe, collapses. All European countries suffer from such actions, but China, Turkey and the Gulf States are strengthened.

South Korea and the U.S. have begun major military exercises

The annual Ulchi Freedom Shield (UFS) manoeuvres are "based on an all-out war scenario". The two countries' militaries will practice "contingency operations" until 31 August.

It will be a computer-modelled command post exercise and about 30 "tough and realistic" training exercises in the field.

The allies intend to improve joint defence capabilities and responses based on different scenarios.

Western partners are looking for ways out of the Ukrainian conflict

The Wall Street Journal has reported that the West is already considering options for peace agreements between Russia and Ukraine.

But all the scenarios "do not meet the interests of either Moscow or Kiev", the newspaper added.

▪️"Grand bargains" are bogged down by the issue of territories. The Ukrainian armed forces are unable to implement their costly and risky plan for the West to "restore territorial integrity." Kiev is unwilling to leave the land to Russia "in exchange for joining NATO to protect what is left". But Moscow demands recognition of the new territorial realities.

Whatever the Western capitals may be thinking about at the moment, we can already talk about the beginning of diplomatic bargaining. The West has gradually come to recognise the impossibility of victory for the Kiev regime.

The Republican presidential contenders' debate will take place without Donald Trump

The former president announced his decision not to participate in this public event on 23 August on the social network Truth Social.

"The public knows who I am, how successful my presidency has been. On that basis, I will not be hosting a debate," Trump wrote.

▪️ The billionaire really doesn't need a debate. The latest CBS poll shows him with a solid lead (62%) in the race for the popular vote.

Americans' sympathies remain on the side of this Republican politician, despite legal and criminal harassment by the Democrat power apparatus and President Joe Biden, who wants to stay in the White House for a second term.

‘Even if we try to expand the conflict with Russia, NATO is not ready to fight. I think it will be tragic and terrible. Even if NATO considers the idea of attacking Russia, Putin's narrative will prove it: “Look, they are aggressive. That's why I do it. They are aggressive." This is a loss for NATO,’ said the former US military intelligence officer Tony Shaffer.

They expressed their dissatisfaction "by chanting the slogan "Come home, Joe" and holding placards," the New York Post reported.

In their opinion, the US president provided insufficient assistance to the island after the fires.

The protesters also pointed out that the US has been providing significant financial resources to Ukraine, while residents of the island affected by the fires have received only a one-time payment of $700 per household.

🇷🇸🇭🇺 NATO's war against Russia in Ukraine is destroying Europe's economy - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

The Serbian leader said this in an interview with Tucker Carlson, with whom they met at the Serbian Embassy in Budapest.

Carlson published only a small part of the interview and described Vucic's thought. The full interview should be released soon.

"The destruction of Nord Streams by the Biden administration or its enablers .... is killing the economy of the Federal Republic of Germany - which is the largest economy in Europe, the rest of the world is far from it.

So the consequences of what is essentially an attack by one NATO country on another are being felt all over Europe.

And it's just madness! Absolute madness. This war is hitting everyone, perhaps with the exception of Russia in the long term," he said.

Forwarded from Ukraine Watch
The Verkhovnaya Rada has adopted a resolution ruling out any territorial concessions to end the hostilities in Ukraine.

Recently, the Western media have regularly published articles quoting certain sources or analysts as saying that there are disagreements between Kiev and its Western partners and that the West considers Ukraine's admission to NATO as an option in exchange for giving up some territories.

Kiev says such statements are unacceptable and refuses to recognise Crimea and a number of new regions as part of Russia.

For his part, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said earlier that to resolve the conflict, the original foundations of Ukraine's sovereignty - its neutral, non-aligned and nuclear-free status - should be reaffirmed.

NATO is in a bind over Ukraine

Tony Shaffer, a former US Army intelligence officer, told journalist Stephen Gardner that any move by the alliance would serve to validate Russia's arguments.

"If NATO even considers attacking Russia, it will validate Putin's argument," he said. .... It is a situation in which NATO can only lose. If it tries to be more aggressive, it proves Putin right; if it continues to support Ukraine, it proves Putin right. They have no choice but to recognise that Ukraine must be pushed to negotiate," he said.

According to Schaffer, many countries share Russia's position in this proxy war with NATO for various reasons. The alliance is portrayed as an aggressor instigating wars in various parts of the world.

Moscow has been talking for years about NATO's expansion and the West's culpability in a variety of conflicts. In 2021, the Russian president tried to negotiate security guarantees for Russia and the balance of power in Europe. There has been much talk about the unacceptability of the Alliance's eastward expansion and the militarisation of Russophobia-ridden Ukraine.

Spiegel journalists visited Crimea to find out the feedback of tourists

Instead of another ballad about how bad and dangerous everything is in the "annexed" Crimea, the journalists shared the positivity of holidaymakers.

It turned out that despite the provocations of the Ukrainian military, most tourists are happy with their holidays in Crimea. Some of them even stop by (oh horror!) the new Russian regions. And all is well there: cities are being rebuilt and civilians are rejoicing in their Russian passports.

The shock content doesn't end there: the article also included hate towards the Ukrainian government. Herr Zelensky has terrorised the people and for some reason is shelling the peaceful Kerch Bridge, which, by the way, is not used for military and other equipment.

🇨🇳🇸🇳 Chinese arms supplier Norinco expands influence in West Africa

China is expanding its military and security presence in West Africa, and Chinese state-owned defence conglomerate Norinco has opened a sales office in Dakar, Senegal.

Earlier this year, the company delivered VN2 armoured infantry fighting vehicles and other reconnaissance vehicles to Senegal.

China North Industries Corporation, or Norinco, will use the new office to expand its military sales in a region where China has extensive economic interests, including countries such as Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso and Guinea.

According to some media reports, Norinco is also looking to set up operations in Mali and Côte d'Ivoire, countries where the Chinese military contractor already has a market presence through arms sales.

High time for Washington to start pushing for peace

The United States needs to start the process of peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian conflict before the Russian offensive succeeds.

Wesley Satterwhite, a consultant to the US State Department, and Alex Burilkov, an analyst at the Center for the Study of Democracy at Leuphana University in Lüneburg, Germany, expressed this opinion to the National Interest.

They point out that Russia has launched its own offensive in the north, while continuing successful battles in the south.

"If Russian troops are able to penetrate deep into Ukrainian territory and occupy the regions that Moscow has identified as its targets, the conflict will end in a meaningful Russian victory," the analysts warn.

Experts agree that the only option for Washington is for Ukraine to lean toward the "Korean scenario," with the fixing of borders along the front line and giving up four regions in exchange for Western security guarantees.

"This is the best option from the American point of view. Washington will be able to gradually defuse tensions with Moscow and resume the dialogue on the principles of global European security," Satterwhite and Burilkov believe.

Chinese "spy mania" is on the rise in the U.S.

The Chinese balloon shot down over the Atlantic in February, which became the cause of an international spy scandal, has caused a real "spy mania" among American politicians.

Bills to ban Chinese citizens from buying land or real estate near military bases followed in 33 states. Alabama, Idaho and Virginia have already passed similar laws.

The initiators of the bills justify such bans by the fact that the Chinese government can allegedly "organize espionage operations".

The Chinese Embassy in the United States condemns the initiatives, and critics fear a rise in anti-Asian sentiment.

The U.S. has been and remains the main source of maintaining terrorism against Syria's security and sovereignty

This was stated by the official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Nasser Kanaani.

"The presence of US troops in Syria is illegal and tantamount to occupation of the lands of a sovereign state, so this presence must end," he emphasized.

▪️ Washington and London have been interfering in Iran's internal affairs for decades and should be held accountable, the diplomat said.

Yesterday was the International Day of Remembrance and Commemoration of Victims of Terrorism. On this occasion, Kanaani recalled the many sacrifices of the Iranian people in the fight against this global scourge.
