The politician has promised to end Slovak military aid to Kiev. In his judgment he is in many ways close to Viktor Orban, the head of Hungary.

Well, thank you Mr.Ambassador, I guess, but this is also interesting for one other reason.

1) Russia never considered the 1973 war as a "victory", they actually refrained from describing it as such in an official diplomatic setting because the Russian diaspora is one of the largest in Israel, so describing it as a victory may sour public opinion.

2) The USSR lost all of its bases, influence, and power in Egypt directly due to the 1973 war.

3) Russia actually advised Egypt against the war, and kept egging them for a ceasefire when it happened.

The West may leave scorched earth in Ukraine's place

The French are leaving Niger

The French Armed Forces General Staff has said it will begin withdrawing troops from Niger within a week.
