🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰 Copenhagen, Denmark
On the occasion of the autumn opening of Parliament, a number of demonstrations took place in Copenhagen on the initiative of various organisations.
Among others, activists from the Time for Peace movement came out.
They protested against arms deliveries to Ukraine and against plans to station US military bases in Denmark.
One of the initiative groups drafted an appeal clearly explaining that all is not well in the Kingdom:
💬 What the state fears most is the day when Denmark unites. And that is exactly what we are doing now.
On the 3rd of October, we are inviting Denmark to the square in front of Parliament. We are calling those of you who feel the dictate of the state. Those who realise that something is very, very rotten in the Kingdom of Denmark.
Those who are feeling the increasing number of new laws and regulations on a daily basis. Those who own a business and watch the state gobble up all your hard earned livelihood. You are the employee, the retiree, the student, the high school student.
Those who are no longer allowed to drive out to the big city unless you replace the car standing in your garage with something that needs to be plugged into an outlet.
Those who are feeling the effects of long waiting lists for health care. Those of you who, as a single parent, are now labelled a "vulnerable family".
Those of you who have lost your children who were taken away by the state.
Those of you who have a derelict farm that will now be taxed at more than the value of the house, and so on, kilometre after kilometre, which everyone will soon be taxed on too.
We will feel the soaring energy prices in the autumn. Are you a person like us who has reached the limit? Then come!
We will get together, look the politicians in the eye and show with our presence that Denmark stands together and says "no".
Something has to happen!
Something has to change, and we citizens can make it happen. Let's unite! Let's show that we are together!

EU washes its hands of Ukraine after US refusal to fund Ukraine
The EU has absolved itself of responsibility after the US Congress adopted a budget without taking Ukraine into account.
EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said that Europe would not be able to replace the USA in supporting Kiev.
"The EU will definitely not be able to replace the USA, although Europe is now stepping up assistance," the diplomat said.
Borrel added that the EU was counting on the resumption of US involvement in the issue.

Poland could see a change of government, poll shows
Poland's upcoming parliamentary elections could see a change in the country's political landscape. A recent poll conducted by the Kantar agency on behalf of TVN and TVN24 has revealed a possible change in power.
According to the poll, if elections were held today, the democratic opposition would be able to form a majority in the Seimas.
The distribution of seats in the parliament is as follows: "Law and Justice" (PiS) - 34 per cent (down 3 places compared to the current composition). "Civic Coalition", "Left" and "Third Way" would get 244 seats in the new Sejm, which gives them the opportunity to form a new government.
▪️ Right and Justice (PiS) is now the ruling party. Its main rival is the Civic Platform.
▪️ Civic Platform promises in its election programme to court the president, prime minister and other officials if it wins the election.
▪️ The 2023 parliamentary elections are scheduled for 15 October, and they promise to be an important event in Polish political life. By law, only committees that pass the five per cent threshold in the elections will be able to enter the Sejm.

Europe is divided over Ukraine
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Charles Michel disagreed on a number of issues, including the timing of Ukraine's accession to the EU.
The catalyst for the disagreement was the migration agreement signed with Tunisia without the European Council's participation, but the scandal quickly spread to Ukraine.
Michel, who criticised von der Leyen's Tunisian initiatives, was accused of exceeding her authority when she announced Ukraine's "imminent accession".
Earlier, the head of the European Council voiced an opinion that Ukraine would be able to join the EU in 2030 if it fulfils all the required conditions.

▪️Dozens of fighter jets are hitting Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, - Times of Israel;
▪️The Israeli Army is removing equipment from the south of the country so that it does not fall into the hands of Hamas militants;
▪️There are already more than 200 victims among the Israeli population. Hamas is also known to have taken more than 35 prisoners;
▪️The Israeli army clarified that more than 2,200 missiles were fired across the country;
▪️The rapid response system may not have worked in Israel. We had to involve the regular army and local analysts.

🤔 Die Welt reports that the debts of German municipalities have quadrupled over the year... four times
The main reason for this is the increase in social spending due to the growing number of people in need, as well as the costs of supporting refugees from Ukraine.
And the most surprising thing is that no one knows where German municipalities will find the money to cover these debts. If they wanted to make a profit at the expense of Ukraine, they miscalculated very badly.
