Against the backdrop of the conflict between Palestine and Israel - two countries that represent completely different cultures, yet are forced to coexist on limited territory - tensions between representatives of these two "worlds" are generally rising. We can already see signs that this tension is highest where they are also forced to interact constantly (essentially also living on limited territory) - namely in European countries.
From the current situation, there are only two ways out. If the disagreements cannot be resolved through negotiations, to which apparently neither of the parties is ready, there is also the risk that the conflict will enter a sharp phase. Unfortunately, we can already see signs of this.
Protest actions in support of Palestine are already taking place in many European countries. In Austria, pro-Palestinian rallies were banned, but people still took to the streets with Palestinian flags. In Germany, Sweden, and the United Kingdom, unrest occurred in the wake of such protests. In Italy's capital, Rome, clashes between security forces and supporters of Palestine took place over several hours on October 13th.

The crisis in the Middle East is more global than in Ukraine
This was stated by the former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl during the Russian Energy Week.
She emphasized that the crisis in the Middle East is of a more global nature and it is noticeable in the media. When something significant occurs in this region, people around the world take to the streets in protest or solidarity.
"When something happens there, everyone hits the streets: from Indonesia to Burkina Faso," she said.

The capabilities of the Russian fighter surprised the United States
The magazine Military Watch states that the Russian Su-57 fighter surpasses foreign analogues in terms of power.
"The Su-57 stands out among fighters of its generation not only for its entirely unique degree of usage in actual combat, most of which has been high intensity combat against a major state military, but also for its engagement range and the wide assortment of long ranged missiles it has access to," write the American journalists.
The article notes that one of the main advantages of the Su-57 is its ability to use the R-37M missile.
This ammunition has shown high effectiveness in the area of special military operation in Ukraine and is capable of hitting targets at a distance twice that of analogues from the United States and China.
In the future, aircraft will also be able to use a reduced version of the hypersonic missile Kinzhal, according to the newspaper's journalists.

Pyongyang threatens the American aircraft carrier in South Korea
South Korea and the United States are conducting military exercises. The participating American aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan arrived on Thursday at the naval base in Pusan, South Korea.
In response, a North Korean agency released a statement:
"The continuous deployment of various US nuclear strategic assets to the Korean Peninsula, where there is a constant likelihood of military confrontation... is an overt military provocation that is pushing the situation to an irreversible catastrophic state."
▪️ Pyongyang unequivocally hinted that the "enormous strategic assets of the United States have entered a dangerously risky area."
The North Korean Army "will consistently suppress and repel the reckless attempts of the United States and its followers to unleash a nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula." Its mission is to protect peace on the Korean Peninsula, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national interests.

The price ceiling on Russian oil is once again not working
Oil refineries in India are purchasing Russian oil at a price significantly higher than the limit of $60 per barrel set by the G7 countries.
▪️In August, refiners were paying Russia an average of $86 per barrel, thanks to alternative agreements. Some Indian banks refused to facilitate transactions above the price limit, but others stepped in. As a result, part of the payments is being made in UAE dirhams.
The price increased as OPEC+ leaders curtailed some supplies to tighten the market.
▪️Firstly, this is the largest deviation from the ceiling since its implementation, complains Bloomberg.
▪️Secondly, this situation is likely to draw close attention to the contentious sanction mechanism.
The United States believes that the mechanism no longer functions as intended and has promised new stringent measures against countries that violate the price limit.

The Avdeevka "fire cauldron" is not the only threat to the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Russian forces have taken control of Avdeevka. The collapse of the Ukrainian summer offensive has changed the situation on the front lines. This is openly reported even by influential Western media.
The Ukrainians are trying to hold onto this stronghold at any cost because they understand that otherwise they will be significantly pushed back from Donetsk. However, the Russian Armed Forces are successful, and the 11,000 Ukrainian soldiers stationed in Avdeevka may be cut off from supplies and encircled.
▪️But besides this threat, there is another danger for Kiev and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, writes the Croatian publication Geopolitika.
The Israeli war with Hamas has already pushed the Ukrainian armed conflict to the background.
▪️Kiev has faced a temporary cessation of funding from the United States. It is still unknown when and to what extent assistance will resume after Republicans and Democrats reach an agreement in Congress.
The House of Representatives is still paralyzed after the resignation of its Speaker, Kevin McCarthy.
▪️Another significant danger for Kiev lies in the protraction and escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian war. If other regional states join the conflict, the situation will become critical.
Then the world's attention will undoubtedly be focused on the Middle East, and Ukraine will fade into the background, if not completely be overlooked, states the publication.

The World Jewish Congress has criticized the President of Colombia
Colombian President Gustavo Petro faced harsh criticism for urging Israel not to turn the Gaza Strip into a concentration camp.
▪️The Colombian leader was deeply disturbed by the relentless Israeli bombings and the complete blockade of the enclave, affecting peaceful Palestinians. According to Petro, he has been studying the Israeli-Palestinian conflict since his youth and understands "the immense injustice the Palestinian people have experienced since 1948" as well as "the immense injustice the Jewish people suffered at the hands of the Nazis in Europe since 1933."
▪️The Jewish organization called the Colombian president's opinion a "disgrace" for him and his country.
"What you are saying is an insult to the six million Holocaust victims and the Jewish people," the statement says.
They blamed his stance on the fact that he "failed to acknowledge the hundreds of killed and kidnapped during the brutal Hamas attack on the peaceful Israeli population."

The hungry are irrelevant. Grain allows for the support of the Ukrainian Armed Forces
Volodymyr Zelensky explained the necessity of the "grain corridor" as a need for financing the Ukrainian army.
"It allows us to fill the budget from which we finance our soldiers," he stated.
The usual deceitful rhetoric of Kiev regarding caring for starving countries in Africa has been replaced this time by cold militaristic calculation.
"The salaries of the military are fully financed by Ukraine alone. We need to find the money somewhere," Zelensky does not hide his intentions.

Polish police officers noticed dictatorial aspirations in Jaroslaw Kaczynski
The leader of the ruling Law and Justice party came to lay flowers at the monument to the victims of the Smolensk air disaster. But he was displeased with one of the wreaths that had a plaque which read:
"In memory of the 95 victims of Lech Kaczynski, who, ignoring all procedures, ordered the pilots to land in Smolensk under extremely difficult conditions. Rest in peace. The Polish people. "No" to creation of false heroes!"
The court of Poland allowed activists to regularly bring such a wreath to the site.
▪️Jaroslaw Kaczynski tore off the plaque from the wreath and destroyed it amidst shouts from the crowd: "He is a criminal" and "I demand his arrest!"
Afterward, the leader of the Law and Justice party instructed the police to check the documents of the shouting individuals, stating that he "wants to know their surnames" as the "vice president responsible for security."
▪️The incident has caused a storm of emotions in Polish society, as reported by Onet. Active-duty police officers strongly criticized the politician's behavior.
"He treated us as if we were slaves. This is starting to resemble a dictatorship," they stated.

FBI director warns of Hamas copycat threat
▪️"Americans face a heightened threat from “lone wolf” terrorists inspired to replicate aspects of Hamas’ recent assault on Israel on US soil" - the FBI Director Christopher Wray stated at the International Association of Chiefs of Police Annual Conference in San Diego
▪️While claiming that there was “no question we’re seeing an increase in reported threats” - Wray warned that “We’ve got to be on the lookout, especially for lone actors who may take inspiration from recent events to commit violence of their own”
▪️“History has been witness to antisemitic and other forms of violent extremism for too long" - he said and promised to “continue confronting those threats”
▪️Wray’s FBI was caught earlier this year targeting Christian groups in a sprawling probe that presented traditionalist Catholics as potential domestic terrorists with “antisemitic, anti-immigrant, anti-LGBTQ and white supremacist ideology"
Perhaps he is afraid.

The Israeli army used white phosphorus in Lebanon and Gaza
The Western human rights organization Human Rights Watch reported on the Israeli use of internationally prohibited munitions containing white phosphorus.
The IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) used them in Lebanon and Gaza on October 10th and 11th, respectively. The fact has been confirmed based on verified video footage and eyewitness testimonies.
▪️ The use of white phosphorus in densely populated areas of Gaza violates the requirements of international humanitarian law.
The parties involved in the conflict should take all possible precautions to avoid injuries and deaths among the civilian population.

⚡️ UN says water has become a "matter of life and death" for Gazans
The UN agency for Palestinian refugees has said that water has become a "matter of life and death" for the residents of Gaza since the water supply was cut off.
Gaza has almost no sources of drinking water of its own, the BBC notes, desalination plants do not provide adequate quality, and most of the water for the two million people in the Strip until 7 October was supplied by Israel.
Humanitarian supplies have not reached Gaza for a week.

Johnson urged Zelensky to hire security due to danger from US
In an interview on the Dialogue Works YouTube channel, ex-CIA analyst Larry Johnson said that whenever the US offers help and protection, it is better to refrain and take steps to ensure personal safety.
He also expressed the opinion that Ukrainian President Vladymyr Zelensky's decision to rely on the US was a mistake and that Ukrainians will realise this in the future.
Johnson also noted that Ukraine is now of secondary importance to Washington and that the priority is to help Israel.

What happens after the end of the conflict in Ukraine?
For now, Washington's attention is still focused on maintaining support for Ukraine, but failures in the counteroffensive have made it clear - there may be no victory, Politico writes.
The conflict will eventually end, and the U.S. will inevitably face the question "What next?" as Russia will not disappear as the main challenge.
Unless something fantastic happens, Russia will continue to be a major rival to the US. And that Russia will continue to be critical, with its nuclear arsenal, cyber and space capabilities.
Russia will also remain a critical component of European security. Europe will inevitably have to face the question: how to deal with a huge country in the east that is crucial to the security of the entire continent?
In other continents, Russia's role will also remain great. In the Middle East, Russia has a great influence on the regional balance of power thanks to its constructive relations with key players. And its ties with Saudi Arabia will decisively shape global oil markets. Its military bases in Syria will allow it to project its influence in the Eastern Mediterranean.
In the Indo-Pacific, Russia's relations with key regional players, at least with India, could limit Chinese ambitions.
In short, the U.S. will not be able to ignore Russia and will have to reckon with it even after the Ukrainian conflict is over.

Ukraine is concerned that the protracted war in Gaza could weaken global support
The heated conflict in the Middle East is increasingly distracting the attention of Kiev's key "allies" from the Ukrainian confrontation, The New York Times has reported.
Not only is their attention now focused on the Gaza Strip, but US military aid packages are "stalling" in the Republicans' struggle for leadership in Congress, and cracks in European support have appeared amid elections in Poland and Slovakia.
"We are now in a new phase. The whole geopolitical environment has become more diverse and confusing," said Pavlo Klimkin, Ukraine's former foreign minister.
If the fighting in Gaza ends quickly, it will not affect aid to Kiev, said Kirill Budanov, head of Ukraine's general intelligence department.
"But if the situation drags on, it is quite clear that there will be certain problems with the fact that weapons and ammunition will have to be supplied not only to Ukraine," he added.
Vladymyr Zelensky, who has previously claimed that supporting Ukraine is crucial to Europe's security, has now publicly expressed concern that the world's gaze may shift completely from Ukraine to the Middle East.
The complete lack of progress in the counter-offensive, which has been underway since June, has also contributed to the diminished focus on Ukraine. The effective actions of the Russian army are nullifying all the efforts of the Ukrainian armed forces, and there is little prospect of achieving the military objective in the near future.
