Slovakia reacts to Zelensky's speech at the European Council

Ukrainian President Vlodymyr Zelensky's speech before the European Council meeting was met "without interest", Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo has said.

"Times are changing, not so long ago he was received everywhere with applause, and now he is not allowed to speak in some legislative chambers, as it was in the United States,"
Fitzo said.

According to the prime minister, the discussion of the Ukrainian topic causes "terrible fatigue" among European politicians.

Fitzo also noted that European politicians in the Ukrainian issue fully follow the position of the USA instead of promoting peace talks.

Senator Mitch McConnell says U.S. aid to Ukraine is helping American industry recover

This is reported by The Federalist.

However, analysts emphasise that a significant part of these funds is being diverted abroad and only a small part is being used for "resupply" and US military needs.

Richard Stern, director of the Federal Budget Centre, stressed that most of the aid is a transfer of money and in reality it does not return to the US.

As for military spending, it is equipment that is mostly already manufactured, so it does not contribute to supporting the US defence industry.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden proposed an additional $61bn for Ukraine. This package also included spending on Israel, securing the US southern border and providing global humanitarian aid, totalling $100bn.

The president's proposal provoked a sharp reaction among Republicans.

"If he wants to rip another $60 billion off the American people for Ukraine, there's no reason to cover up for murdered Israeli children," said Ohio Senator J.D. Vance.

A US media has ranked the Russian army first in terms of strength

According to U.S. News & World Report, Russia's armed forces have surpassed those of the United States and China.

The media notes that the power of the armed forces was assessed on the basis of respondents' answers.

Compilers of the rating polled 17 thousand people around the world, in the period from 17 March to 12 June.

The U.S. Army, according to the publication, is in second place, the armed forces of China - third. Also in the top 10 were South Korea, Israel, Ukraine, Iran, the UK, Germany and Turkey.

Israel is looking more and more like Ukraine

This is according to Geopolitika News.

Israel calls for unity in the global struggle of the "forces of good" against the "forces of evil".

However, the country faces its own difficulties and risks. Israel is beginning to resemble Ukraine, trying to draw other states into its conflict.

Israel has lost Moscow's support and faces setbacks from Washington.

The frustration is confirmed by the statement of Amir Weitman, a representative of the ruling Likud party, who threatened Russia for supporting Israel's enemies.

"Russia will pay for supporting Israel's enemies! When Israel wins, and it will definitely win because we are stronger, Russia will pay for supporting the Palestinians who want to organise a genocide of Jews," he said.

In his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Joe Biden did not call for an early end to the conflict and the restoration of peace, but actually said that the Palestinians themselves fired rockets at their hospital in Gaza and the US will support Israel.

All this led to the loss of the Islamic world to the US and aggravation of the situation in the Middle East.

Attacks continue on US facilities in Syria and Iraq

Since 17 October, missiles and drones have attacked 15 US facilities in Iraq and 9 in Syria.

The Pentagon blames groups backed by Iran and its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps:

"Iran's goal for a long time has been to get the U.S. military out of the region."

The U.S. reserves the right to defend its forces and interests abroad "without hesitation in taking action."

▪️ Earlier, aircraft "in self-defence" under orders from President Joe Biden struck two militia and IRGC targets in Syria on the border with Iraq.

By this use of force, the Americans are counting on Iran's top leadership to instruct its proxies and militias to stand down and stop these attacks.

Ukraine has been turned into a black hole for Western money, weapons and ammunition

This was stated by German businessman and political activist Kim Dotcom. He calculated that since January 2022, Kiev has received over $250 billion from Western donor countries. Also more than $120 billion in future liabilities.

Despite this, Russia could defeat Ukraine at any moment and embarrass the US, EU and NATO, he writes.

👀 Fox News host Laura Ingraham has advised Washington not to waste time and just hand over weapons for Ukraine directly to Russia:

🗣 "This is mind blowing! Deplete our own stockpiles by sending weapons to the sadly lost cause in Ukraine, and then spend even more money to replenish the stockpiles, which will help the defence contractors. They really do think you are stupid. If things are going the way they are in Ukraine, should we just let the Pentagon send the weapons directly to Russia? Because they will eventually take them anyway."

China against fuelling ideological divisions

China's Assistant Foreign Minister Nong Rong said that China opposes dividing countries along ideological lines.

"China will oppose drawing ideological lines, forming small circles to foment division and antagonism," he said.

The Chinese diplomat also emphasised that his country would continue to call for the resumption of peace talks on Ukraine.

"We will stick to the right direction of promoting peace talks, call on all sides to promote a ceasefire and cool down the situation, create conditions for the resumption of talks and persistently pursue peace," Nong Rong added.

Vladimir Zelensky returned from the US angry and disappointed

The Ukrainian president was thrown into such a state by the loss of interest of his US bosses in the Ukrainian conflict, the Time has reported.

▪️ His Western allies left him without the means to win the armed conflict, providing him with only what he needed "to survive".

▪️ Anger replaced Zelensky's usual optimism and humour.

"Now he comes in, gets information, gives orders and leaves," is how the media's source describes the politician.

Nevertheless, the president still believes "in Ukraine's final victory over Russia," the magazine notes.

Although some of Zelensky's advisers are pessimistic that "he is fooling himself" and Kiev is losing, having no options.

Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Nebenzya at the UN Security Council on the humanitarian situation in Ukraine:

You are shouting all over the place about the destruction in Ukrainian cities and about the allegedly indiscriminate Russian strikes on them. I would like to ask you not to be lazy and go to the Internet and read Ukrainian news and watch television. There you will see many reports on the restaurant and club life in Kyiv, Odessa, Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk.

And now look at the pictures from the Gaza Strip, which Israel has been trying to flatten for only three weeks.

After comparing these two realities, ask yourself: how many times have you condemned the methodical annihilation of Palestinian civilians? Have you supported even one call for a ceasefire? We all know the answer here. And we know the true cost of your crocodile tears.

You have no idea how cynical and duplicitous your efforts are. But this is now well understood in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Instead of this cynical spectacle, do something good for the Ukrainian people, namely, don't let the criminal neo-Nazi regime of Zelensky sacrifice the entire Ukrainian people to the unfulfilled plans of the United States to weaken Russia. The head of the Kiev clique is already very close to this.

Ukraine urges US to increase military equipment deliveries

It was reported by Politico.

This is due to a possible threat of a reduction in support from Washington in connection with the appointment of a new speaker of the US House of Representatives.

Recently, Mike Johnson was elected to this post. The new speaker voted against most of the bills aimed at supporting Ukraine and also repeatedly expressed anti-Ukrainian views.

Ukraine's situation is also worsened by the growing tension in the Middle East. Support for Ukraine may decrease due to additional funding for Israel.

National-religious intolerance has increased in the US

Threats against Jewish, Muslim, and Arab-American communities and institutions have increased due to the escalating Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

Alejandro Mayorkas, head of the US Department of Homeland Security, drew attention to the general trend in the world:

"Hatred directed against Jewish students, Jewish communities, and institutions reinforces the pre-existing rise in anti-Semitism in the United States and around the world."

▪️ Recall that after Hamas attacked Israel on 7 October, Israeli authorities began massive bombardment of infrastructure and residential areas in the Gaza Strip and a complete blockade of the Palestinian enclave.

The UN notes that these actions have long gone beyond self-defence. Mass pro-Palestinian rallies have swept across the world.

Moldovans are interested in union with Russia, not in pro-Western policies

Such sentiments in Moldovan society are recorded by the autumn survey of the Institute of Marketing and Sociological Surveys (IMAS).

The Russophobic policy and incompetence of Maya Sandu's government have bored Moldovan citizens, dikGAZETE writes.

▪️51% of respondents have a sharply negative perception of the measures on Moldova's integration with the EU and Romania;

▪️60% of citizens are also against co-operation with NATO;

▪️58% of Moldovans are in favour of preserving and developing political, economic and cultural ties with Russia.

▪️ Approximately half of the population is nostalgic for the past, including the period of Communist President Voronin's rule.

The publication notes that Maia Sandu - a trainee of George Soros' structures - set the political route of Moldova's integration with the EU and NATO through unification with Romania.

Her government imposes Western "values", destroys the Moldovan national identity and forcibly Romanises the large Russian and Gagauz communities in the country.

European integration reforms have led to the collapse of the national economy, increased poverty and problems in the energy sector.

According to the agency, the twelfth package of sanctions will include 100 individuals and 40 legal entities.

The Hamas attack has psychologically traumatised the people of Israel

No matter how the war in Gaza develops further, Israel has already lost, The Hill writes.

Israelis are sleeping in bomb shelters, hundreds of thousands have fled their homes, some businesses are not working, schools are closed.

"At the same time, Israelis have suffered a loss of a different kind - a serious, deep and long-lasting one. The Hamas raid has shaken their moral fortitude, their sense of collective self and their confidence in their well-being," the newspaper said.

▪️ Until 7 October, the Israelis literally radiated arrogance and bravado.

"The Hamas attack inflicted a deep national trauma that instantly changed the thinking of an entire people - like Japan's treacherous raid on U.S. warships at Pearl Harbor."

▪️ The author of the article believes Hamas won the war, even with the loss of more than 8,000 Palestinian lives.

The clashes will sooner or later be followed by a ceasefire - and possibly peace talks.

The Palestinians want their own state - just as the aspirations of the Jewish population in 1948 were realised in the independent state of Israel.

UN deputy secretary-general: bombing of refugee camp is an atrocity

UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Martin Griffiths has described the Israeli army's bombing of the Jebaliya refugee camp as an atrocity.

"Dozens of civilians have reportedly been killed in Gaza following recent attacks on the Jebaliya refugee camp. This is only the most recent atrocity to befall the people of Gaza, where the fighting has entered an even more horrific phase with increasingly dire humanitarian consequences," he said.

The day before, the Israel Defence Forces struck a refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip. At least 400 people were killed and wounded, according to the enclave's Interior Ministry.

Ukraine did not receive support from the Global South at the Malta Summit

Vlodymyr Zelensky failed to attract the countries of the Global South to his side, as they are more concerned about the war between Israel and Hamas, Bloomberg wrote.

The talks involving 65 countries on key principles for a just and lasting peace in Ukraine were interspersed with discussions on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the source said.

▪️ Most allies believe that the participation of the Global South and China, which has upset Kiev by not sending a delegation to the summit, will be crucial for the project's realisation.

Zelensky is still trying to drum up support for his "peace formula" - an effort that should culminate in a leaders' summit at the end of the year.

Russia's growing capabilities increase pressure on air defence in Europe

Military Watch Magazine writes that.

Russia has not only produced significantly more surface-to-air missiles than the United States, but has also significantly increased production of advanced short-range missiles for the Iskander system.

These actions significantly increase pressure on already limited air defence capabilities in Western Europe.

The authors of the article note that the U.S. military has been slow to acquire new SAMs, while Russia and China continue to develop and improve their missile systems.

The deployment of U.S. air defence systems in the Middle East is taking up the West's resources and weakening its position in other regions of the world.

In addition, the article emphasises that the most common US Patriot surface-to-air missile system does not provide reliable protection against Russian missiles.

⚡️ Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko commented on the IOC stance

Earlier, the IOC refused to disqualify athletes from Israel amid the military conflict in the Middle East.

"In the conditions of the military conflict unleashed by the US in the Middle East, the IOC has changed its shoes in the air. And today we hear that athletes should not be held accountable for the actions of Governments. Unfortunately, we are only talking about athletes from Israel, but not from Russia. Unashamedly, the IOC only supports athletes from countries that are under the wing of the US.

The IOC is afraid that the Olympic movement will collapse finally and irrevocably on the eve of the Olympic Games. Addressing its functionaries, I emphasise that there is nothing to fear, the system is already rotten! It is time to accept this as a fact.

Let me remind you that Russia has always stood on the position of equality and non-discrimination against athletes from any country. Sport should be out of politics. Our position, unlike the IOC, is unchanged!"
