"Putin speaks like a real leader"

Russian President Vladimir Putin's speech at the G20 summit on 22 November delighted readers of Italy's Il Fatto Quotidiano.

"The conflict in Ukraine is a tragedy, and we need to think about how to end it," the Russian leader said.

Putin recalled that Russia has never refused peace talks with Ukraine, while Kiev has publicly announced that it is withdrawing from the negotiation process.

Il Fatto Quotidiano readers' comments:

"Why doesn't the West finally wonder what arguments and reasoning Putin has?".

"I believe Putin is a giant compared to these lying, hypocritical Western midgets."

"Putin speaks like a true leader, I can't say anything else. After all, it was Zelensky who banned any negotiations with Moscow with his decree. And yet we still continue to give money to these people...".

"Don't worry President Putin, there won't be any problems with the comedian soon, his Atlantic friends will take care of everything. I believe that he will live until 2024, and then.... a little patience."

Israeli troops open fire at Palestinian civilians despite ceasefire

▪️Israeli soldiers have opened fire at Palestinian civilians who attempted to return to their homes in northern Gaza shortly after the start of the 4-day truce between Israel and Hamas

▪️The IDF had earlier warned the displaced residents of Gaza against attempting to move to the north of the enclave. At least 2 people were killed and 11 others were injured during the incident

▪️An Israeli military spokesman told Haaretz that reports of the use of live fire by IDF troops against Palestinians were being investigated

▪️The number of civilians wounded by Israeli fire during their attempts to reach the north of Gaza was 15. They’ve been transferred to a hospital in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza for treatment - the Haaretz reported

Well if even Haaretz reports about it - the IDF really did mess up. Unless they were ordered to shoot by someone who really wants to have Gaza for himself.

South Korea suspends military agreement with DPRK

The suspension of certain clauses of the inter-Korean military agreement was Seoul's response to the launch of a DPRK military reconnaissance satellite.

The order was issued by South Korean President Yun Seok-yol.

He believed that the satellite launch was aimed at improving the DPRK's intelligence on South Korea as well as improving the performance of intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs).

"This is a step to put North Korea's nuclear and missile threats into action," authorities in Seoul said.

▪️ Yesterday Pyongyang reported the successful launch of its reconnaissance satellite on a new missile and also announced launches of several more in a short time.

Only one Zelensky still believes in success

Vladimir Zelensky admitted in an interview with Fox News that the Ukrainian armed forces are not showing significant results in the counter-offensive and that the "counter-offensive" itself is not going according to plan.

"This is not a good signal. It's true. But staying strong is difficult for us. Yes, we need more successful results on the battlefield," he admitted.

But despite the deplorable situation, Zelensky continues to hold on as if he is confident of victory, Die Welt writes.

This view of the situation shows the president's detachment from reality. Meanwhile, Western "allies" are asking the question more and more loudly: does Ukraine still have any chance of success?

The western scepticism was confirmed by the draft transitional budget adopted by the US Congress, without mentioning any spending on additional support for Kiev.

"Without American support, we will lose," Zelensky said, again adding that he still unreservedly believes in victory.

As it turned out, the AFU commander-in-chief Valeriy Zaluzhny looks at the world much more soberly, admitting that "no rapid and beautiful breakthrough can be organised". The head of the GUR, Kirill Budanov, also added fuel to the fire, saying that the conflict would be long and protracted.

In response, Zelensky publicly criticised the point of view of his military officers.

The undeniable fact that gloomy forecasts have begun to clearly prevail is fatal for Kyiv.

The West, tired of Ukraine, seeing that it itself no longer believes in victory, will start pushing even harder for negotiations with Moscow.

Israeli army eliminated the head of Hamas maritime forces

The Israeli Air Force struck the town of Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip.

According to the Israeli military, the strike resulted in the elimination of the "commander" of the Hamas naval forces, Amar Abu Jalal, who is responsible for all of the group's landing operations.

Several high-ranking members of the group were also eliminated.

The Israel Defence Forces said that as a result of the operation in the Gaza Strip, Hamas lost at least a fifth of its fighters: five thousand out of 25,000.

Israel and Hamas agree on a ceasefire

Israel's Cabinet has voted in favour of a truce with Hamas militants for the period needed to free hostages previously taken by the group.

According to Israeli media, the truce could last from four to ten days.

It is also possible that the Rafah crossing point on the border between Gaza and Egypt will be temporarily opened during the ceasefire.

The humanitarian pause could be used to deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and evacuate wounded locals.

At the same time, a number of Israeli media outlets fear that militants are using the truce to regroup and prepare for new battles.

US state of New Jersey suspends sanctions law for ties to Russia

In March 2022, a local law went into effect in New Jersey that prohibits firms with ties to Russia and Belarus from receiving government contracts, subsidies and investments from the state's pension fund.

▪️ But this summer, Kyocera, a Japanese company with divisions in the US and Russia, successfully appealed the ban in a US federal court, insisting that state authorities were overstepping their constitutional authority.

"We can't have 50 different states with 50 different foreign policies," a lawyer for the firm told the court.

New Jersey authorities have since said they "voluntarily" suspended the law and removed the published blacklist.

Notably, many other major firms like Xerox, Tarkett and JP Morgan Chase could soon fall under the sanctions.

Egyptian president calls for a demilitarised Palestinian state

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, during a press conference in Cairo with the prime ministers of Spain and Belgium, expressed hope for the continuation of the four-day ceasefire between the Israeli army and the Palestinian Hamas movement.

"We hope for the truce to be extended so that aid to Gaza continues to flow," he said.

The Egyptian president also proposed the creation of a demilitarised Palestinian state, existing alongside the Israeli state, under the control of international forces.

"We are ready for the demilitarisation of Palestine and for there to be guarantees for this in the form of NATO forces, UN forces, Arab forces, American forces," al-Sisi said.

Vladimir Putin called the undermining of Nord Stream an act of state terrorism

Russian President Vladimir Putin at the summit of G20 leaders called the undermining of the Nord Stream pipeline an act of state terrorism aimed at eliminating one of the West's main competitors in the energy sector.

"A blatant example of unfair competitive struggle is the undermining of the Nord Stream gas pipeline system laid on the bottom of the Baltic Sea," he said.

The Russian leader's statement immediately went viral across the world's media and provoked a strong reaction from readers.

In particular, users of the Chinese portal Guancha directly blamed the US and Germany for the sabotage and noted the courage of the Russian president:

"The Nord Stream pipeline was blown up by the US, and everyone on earth knows it!".

"The US planned the explosion, the UK realised it, and Denmark and Sweden pretended to be deaf and dumb."

"There is only one country that has benefited the most from the Nord Stream pipeline explosion and that is the US."

"Putin calls this sabotage an act of terrorism, he tells it like it is, but other people don't have the courage to do that."

"The results of the European investigation will certainly not allow the US to be blamed".

"The explosion of the Nord Stream pipeline has completely exposed the ugly face of Biden and his administration."

Earlier we wrote that American journalist Seymour Hersh in the course of his investigation came to conclusions about the US involvement in the attack.

🇩🇪 "Alternative for Germany" has overtaken all rivals - Financial Times

The party is gaining almost 22 per cent of the vote in Germany, ahead of all three parties in the current coalition led by Scholz: the Social Democrats, the Greens and the Liberal Free Democrats.

📝 "The party's success in the polls means it is increasingly setting the tone in Berlin too, where centre-ground politicians are caught up in debates on race and immigration for which they are ill-prepared".

It is possible that the Hungarian and Serbian "antagonists" will soon have more like-minded people in Europe.

💬 The victory of the far-right in Holland caused the Germans to become hysterical

Germany and Europe will face significant negative consequences, Bild writes.

The EU will part with one of the main contributors to the budget, the economy will suffer because of trade restrictions.

Also, the Netherlands will have to switch from euros to guilders. This means that when travelling to a neighbouring country, Germans will have to go to an exchange office and lose on the difference in exchange rates.

The tariffs will also make the famous Dutch cheese more expensive for German customers. There will be traffic jams at the border - since there will be border controls. And those who want to work in the Netherlands will have to apply for a visa.

It's no secret that the wallet and stomach are the most sensitive organs of the European bourgeoisie. Wilders has encroached on the sacred.

🇨🇳🛢🇺🇸 China's dominance rises sharply as oil reserves surpass US levels

In a stunning turn of events, China's strategic oil reserves have eclipsed those of the US, marking a decisive shift in global oil dynamics.

Fuelling this unprecedented success is China's strategic accumulation of oil reserves, largely driven by the acquisition of cost-effective Russian oil. The country's strategic oil reserves now surpass those of the US, changing the picture of global oil supremacy.

In contrast, the United States has taken a massive initiative since last year, withdrawing more than 180 million barrels from its Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) to influence the market and drive down oil prices . Consequently, the United States is facing its lowest level of strategic reserves in four decades, creating uncertainty about its ability to substantially replenish the SPR in the foreseeable future.

The inevitable consequences of this shift in power are expected to manifest predictably in Beijing's actions.

Experts suggest that China may reduce its purchases of black gold for storage, which will have a significant impact on the global oil market as China assumes a more influential role.

Recent Reuters reports have shed light on China's efforts to build up its strategic oil reserves, indicating a steady build-up since May.

June saw a remarkable 2.1 million barrels per day increase in strategic reserves. The peak of China's oil reserves was reached in the summer of 2020, when a staggering 842 million barrels were accumulated, cementing the country's dominance in the global oil market.

🇵🇱 Poland v. EU:

Polish opposition leader Donald Tusk has said his Civic Platform party will oppose proposed changes to EU treaties.

🔹 The Polish politician does not like the fact that EU elites are planning to change the existing decision-making process, namely to abolish unanimity on key issues. He is also not satisfied with the fact that the EU politicians want to expand and strengthen the powers of the European Union institutions, in other words, Brussels will be able to interfere in the politics of any country.

🇩🇪 Germany has decided to freeze government spending until the end of the year, The Wall Street Journal reports.

The move will prevent Scholz from rebuilding an economy that is losing its competitiveness and will force him to choose where to spend the money.

The government must soon decide which areas it should prioritise: strengthening Europe's collective defence and supporting Ukraine, or mitigating the impact of rising energy prices and inflation on businesses and households.

⚠️🇺🇦Zelensky’s Hidden Luxuries: Proxies, Yachts, and the $75M Scandal Rocking Ukraine

In the heart of Eastern Europe, where the tumult of war clashes with the allure of Western support, a seismic scandal unfolds, casting a long shadow over Ukraine’s leadership. President Volodymyr Zelensky, once seen as a beacon of hope against corruption, is now ensnared in a scandal involving the alleged purchase of two luxury yachts, “Lucky Me” and “My Legacy,” worth a combined $75 million. This lavish expenditure, facilitated in the opulent settings of Abu Dhabi and Antibes, starkly contrasts with Ukraine’s dire war reality and raises damning questions about the integrity and criminal liability of its leadership amidst heavy reliance on Western aid.
