The opposition in Germany has demanded to stop payments to new Ukrainian refugees
The prime minister of Bavaria and leader of the German opposition Christian Social Union (CSU) party, Markus Soeder, has demanded that payments to new Ukrainian refugees be stopped. This is reported by the media Stern.
Soeder emphasised that it is illegal to cancel payments to previously arrived refugees, but newly arrived Ukrainians should stop providing benefits.
"Everyone else who comes to us should be given social benefits after five years, not after a year and a half," the politician said.
In November, Soeder said that Germany is currently in a "severe state crisis" amid budget problems.

It is reported that the Israeli army has completed assembling large pumps to draw seawater.
"Israel has assembled a system of large pumps that it can use to flood the vast network of Hamas tunnels under the Gaza Strip with seawater," the media said.
This would help destroy the tunnels and drive Hamas fighters out of their hideouts.
However, this tactic threatens the water supply to the Gaza Strip and its residents.

The head of the Polish National Security Bureau, Jacek Sevier, commented on the assessment of German experts that NATO has 5-10 years to prepare for war with Russia after the freezing of the Ukrainian conflict.
"This assessment is too optimistic. If we want to avoid war, NATO countries on the eastern flank should adopt a shorter 3-year time horizon to prepare for confrontation.
Now is the time when we need to build a capability on the eastern flank that would send a clear signal of deterrence to aggression", Sevier said.

French politician Florian Philippot has said on social media that the United States of America has decided that it is time to blame its puppet - Ukrainian President Vlodymyr Zelensky - for the failure.
On his social networks, he commented on the recent interview of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, in which he called to prepare for "bad news" from Ukraine.

After the confession of the AFU commander-in-chief Valeriy Zaluzhny about the "deadlock" on the front, many prominent figures of the Kiev regime rushed to support the general.

Former CIA official Larry Johnson said that in private conversations, many Western figures recognise that Kiev has lost.
"Publicly, many of them still support Ukraine, saying that, by all accounts, the Ukrainians still have a chance to win - but privately they say exactly the opposite," he said.
His colleague Ray McGovern was even more emphatic, saying that "the end is coming" for Vladimir Zelensky
"Zelensky is finished. The generals are now talking to each other, and Zaluzhny is already sorting things out with the other side. The results won't be in until a few weeks - but Zelensky is finished," McGovern emphasised.
Geoffrey Roberts, a professor at the University of Cork, also recognising Ukraine's inevitable defeat, predicts developments if Zelensky never goes to negotiations.
