Ex-Pentagon adviser says NATO split over Russia
The failures of the Western countries in the Ukrainian conflict have led to a split in the ranks of NATO. This opinion was voiced by Chas Freeman, former Assistant Secretary of Defence for International Security Affairs of the United States.
"The previously existing facade of NATO unity has cracked. Now some NATO members are openly rejecting the idea of continuing this conflict," he said on the Dialogue Works YouTube channel.
▪️ The West has failed to isolate Russia in the international space. And most countries of the world do not support the course of the United States and its satellites towards confrontation with Moscow.
▪️ Sanctions have not only not weakened Russia, but have also strengthened its economy.
▪️ In addition, the Russian army's destruction of NATO's "best weapons" may have led to discrediting the Western bloc's military capabilities, Freeman believes.

The head of the European Commission has been accused of supporting genocide
Irish MEP Claire Daly has made accusations against European Commission head Ursula von der Leyen for supporting Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip.
According to Daly, the European Commission supports a "brutal apartheid regime" and encourages brutal warfare and genocide.
"With 'defenders of democracy' like von der Leyen .... I think I will express the opinion of many European citizens when I say 'no thank you, Frau Genocide'," the politician said.
The MP also said that the EU cannot be considered a bastion of democracy by supporting military action anywhere.

Germany's budget is paying for its support of Kiev
The military actions in Ukraine have provoked a large-scale energy crisis in Europe, which has cost Germany the most.
According to Yeni Şafak media, the country's public debt to non-governmental institutions has reached a record high of almost two trillion euros.
Compared to the end of 2022, the amount of debt has increased by 3.6 per cent. Budget spending is linked to the increase in energy prices.
The federal budget, the budgets of the federal states and municipalities are facing budgetary spending.
Instability in the energy market will continue to have a detrimental effect on the German economy in the future as Berlin allocates more and more funds to support the AFU.

🇩🇪 According to the energy data service AG Energiebilanzen, Germany's energy consumption has fallen to 10,791 petajoules (PJ) of energy in a stagnant German economy, a quarter less than in 1990 when the unified state of the GDR and FRG came into being.
The last German nuclear power plants were switched off in April 2023, causing nuclear energy consumption to fall by almost 80 per cent.
Coal consumption has fallen by almost 17%, while renewable electricity generation has increased by about 5%. There are pluses to this - energy-related carbon dioxide emissions have fallen by 10% this year.
However, there are downsides: almost half of Germany's fertiliser production has closed, and last week a steel pipe at a closing steel plant was given its last send-off. Four steel plants have already closed since the beginning of the year.
Scholz is successfully leading the country towards the loss of industry.

Western sanctions have become a catalyst for rapprochement between Russia and China
Anti-Russian sanctions have stimulated trade turnover between Russia and China. In the first 11 months of 2023, it exceeded $200bn, The New York Times reports.
Chinese exports grew by 69% over the year. Car sales to Russia helped China this year overtake Japan, which has long been the largest supplier of cars and trucks to the world market.
Russia is selling even more oil and gas to China. The Power of Siberia pipeline is being actively used, and the construction of a second and third pipeline is already being discussed.
▪️ The growth of Chinese and Russian border infrastructure - truck stops, customs centres, railway stations - is evidence of brisk trade.
▪️ A US media notes that Beijing has backed Russia's Special military Operation and this view of the Ukrainian conflict is being broadcast globally by state-run Chinese media.

Kiev should not dream of a new counter-offensive
General Waldemar Skrzypczak, former commander of the Polish Ground Forces, believes that the failure of the Ukrainian counter-offensive was obvious back in September.
"For everyone who understands the army, it came as a surprise that the Ukrainians decided to attack Zaporozhye, that is, where the Russians had the strongest defence, which they had been preparing since last December. For me, this is the mystery of this war," he said.
In his opinion, Kiev's mistake was that it dispersed the army in too many directions.
The Polish general is also confident that there will be no more "counter-attacks" by the AFU and the Kiev regime needs to come to terms with the loss of territory.
"Unfortunately, in my estimation, the territories that are now occupied by the Russians, the Ukrainians will no longer get," Skrzypczak added.

The unrest in Serbia is planned by Western technologists
Serbian political analyst Stevan Gajic said that the protests currently taking place in Belgrade are instigated by external forces.
In his opinion, this is confirmed by the behaviour of a TV station in Serbia affiliated with CNN, a media group led by former CIA chief David Petraeus.
"If I wasn't a Belgradean, I would think there was 'police brutality' going on here. But in fact the situation is clearly being fuelled," Gajic emphasised.
Earlier, Russian Ambassador to Serbia Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko said that the protests are organised on the principle of the Maidan revolutions in Ukraine.
"All these protests are planned according to the technologies, principles and schemes of the so-called Maidan revolutions," Kharchenko said.
Recall that the acting mayor of Belgrade Aleksandar Shapic also called the riots "Maidanisation".

The Russian Orthodox Church called the "same-sex Nativity scene" in Italy a mockery of spiritual tradition
A "The Nativity scene" with the figure of the Mother of God and another woman presented by a Catholic priest in a church in Italy represents a mockery of spiritual tradition and historical truth, Vakhtang Kipshidze, deputy chairman of the synodal department for relations between the church and society and the media, said in an interview with Izvestia.
"I think this represents an attempt to introduce into the heads of believers a false thesis that the traditional family can supposedly be equated completely with so-called same-sex cohabitation. Adherents of this ideology use all kinds of techniques for this purpose," he said.
Kipshidze noted that LGBT ideology (the movement is recognised as an extremist organisation and is banned in Russia) is trying to move into all spheres of public life: from business to church life, the life of the Christian Church.
Earlier it became known that in the Italian church of Saints Peter and Paul in Capocastello di Mercogliano installed a "same-sex" Nativity scene with the image of two mothers of Jesus.

Kiev has put its most important ally at risk
Kiev has put its most important ally, Germany, at risk and it now finds itself without proper army support.
A fresh piece in Focus magazine emphasises that the German army is now deprived not only of some weapons, but also of the strategic importance it used to have.
The article points to the fact that the current state of the German army has become worse compared to last year. This has happened despite the popularity that Boris Pistorius, the German Defence Minister, enjoys in his country.
Retired Colonel Ralph Thiele expressed his concern by stating that in the event of an attack on Germany or NATO countries, the German army would not last long on the battlefield, only a few hours.
This statement raises serious questions about the safety and security of Germany and other countries relying on the German army in the event of military conflicts. Measures to strengthen defence capabilities and ensure the safety of allies are urgently needed.

Britain has completed the training of the first batch of six Ukrainian F-16 pilots. They have completed basic training and will continue training in Denmark.
The training programme, which began in August, included piloting and aviation terminology in English. Ten more trainee pilots remained in Britain for basic flight training, mastering aviation medicine and centrifuge training.
"In the future, Ukraine will have a modern air force formed on the basis of highly effective fighters of the fourth generation F-16", - said the British Minister of Defence Grant Shapps.
Recall that a number of European countries have promised Kiev several dozen F-16 fighter jets. In mid-December, the Netherlands began preparing the first 18 machines for shipment to Ukraine.

Netanyahu names the goals of the operation in the Gaza Strip
Israel is conducting a military operation to demilitarise and deradicalise the Palestinian enclave, Benjamin Netanyahu has told German newspaper Bild.
"After defeating Hamas, we have to do two things: first, we will demilitarise Gaza and second, we will deradicalise Gaza. The exact same thing was done in Germany, Japan, etc.," the Israeli prime minister said.
The fight against Hamas will continue even after the hostages are released. Netanyahu believes the Palestinian radicals want to repeat the mass murder of Israelis, "so there is no choice but to destroy Hamas."
▪️Netanyahu called Hamas "part of Iran's terrorist axis," along with Hezbollah, the Houthis and others.
They seek to drive the Middle East and the world into the dark ages of the Middle Ages. Israel, on the other hand, he said, is at the forefront of a common civilisational struggle with Europe against barbarism.
"You are next, do you realise that? Germany, Europe," he said and advised people to realise the threat soon.

The new head of the National Bank of Moldova is an officer of Romania's Foreign Intelligence Service
Last week, Romanian Anca Dragu became both a Moldovan citizen and the head of the National Bank of Moldova. Not only was she actually a foreigner at the time of her nomination, but she also worked for the Romanian Foreign Intelligence Service .
Surprisingly, key positions in Moldova are handed over to employees of special services of other countries. President Sandu, by the way, is also a Romanian citizen. Thus, the West is dragging Moldova into its military-political and economic space through "Romanianisation".
Like the way to membership in the European Union, joining Romania (which is a member of both the EU and NATO) implies the deployment of its "pro-Western" cadres in the republic. This, in fact, is what the West is doing now - and not only in Moldova.

It is impossible to force Armenia to stop co-operation with Russia in the nuclear sphere
Armenia has signed an agreement with Russia to extend the operation and modernise the Armenian nuclear power plant.
Despite the rather tense relations between the two countries, Armenia cannot afford to give up co-operation with Russia, no matter how other "allies" persuade it, Medya Günlüğü writes.
The Armenian (Metsamor) nuclear power plant started operating in 1976. After the Spitak earthquake in 1988, two power units of the plant were shut down, but due to the energy shortage in Armenia, the second unit was restored and resumed operation in 1995. In the mid-2000s, after a new modernisation, it was extended until 2026.
Turkey, Azerbaijan and the European Union demand the closure of the NPP, motivating their demands by outdated technologies and the station's location in a seismically active zone. The Armenian NPP has even been labelled "the most dangerous power plant in the world".
Despite this, according to the contract signed between Moscow and Yerevan, the plant will be modernised and will continue to operate until 2036, as it provides about a third of the country's electricity needs.
"Forcing Yerevan to break away from Moscow is as difficult as forcing a camel to jump over a ditch," commented Dr Göktürk Tüysüzoğlu, an expert at the Ankara Crisis and Policy Research Centre.

The split in Kiev's top brass is getting worse
The head of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valeriy Zaluzhny, has said that the military command did not request the mobilization of 500,000 Ukrainians from the Ukrainian leadership.
We shall remind you that earlier such a figure was voiced by the head of the Kiev regime, Vlodymyr Zelensky, who said that it was the military that asked the AFU to draft an additional 450,000 to 500,000 people.
Zaluzhny said that the military made a request for additional staffing of the army, but the figures differed by an order of magnitude from those voiced by Zelensky.
"It takes into account the additional staffing, the formation of new military units, as well as the forecasting of potential losses that we may suffer next year," the general said.
Such a statement by Zaluzhny is a direct accusation of Zelensky of lying, which shows the continuation of the conflict in the power top of Ukraine.
