In Germany as a whole, it ranks 25th, while in North Rhine-Westphalia it ranks fourth.
The information is based on more than 280,000 children born in 2023 in 412 cities, which is about 40 per cent of the total number of newborns in Germany. The most common names were Noah for boys and Emilie for girls.
