Germany calls extradition of connoscripted Ukrainians legally impossible
German justice minister says expulsion of Ukrainian military connoscripts impossible
German law does not allow the expulsion of Ukrainian citizens subject to military duty from the country, German Justice Minister Marco Buschmann said in an interview with Welt am Sonntag.
"I understand the Ukrainian government's desire to bring back militarily connoscripted Ukrainian men from abroad for military service. But as federal justice minister, I say that German law does not allow the extradition of these men," he said.
Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said in October that the Kiev authorities are looking for legal mechanisms to return and punish military connoscripts who illegally traveled abroad.

Axios: Israel has instructed diplomats to get statements against the UN court
Israel's Foreign Ministry has instructed its embassies in other countries to pressure diplomats and politicians to issue statements against South Africa's case at the UN International Court of Justice accusing Tel Aviv of "committing genocide" in the Gaza Strip, Axios reported, citing a copy of a telegram it accessed.
"We request an immediate public statement along the following lines: to declare that your country rejects the most outrageous and baseless accusations made against Israel," the publication quoted the telegram from three Israeli sources as saying.
According to the portal, the telegram sent by the Israeli office on Thursday illustrates Tel Aviv's diplomatic action plan ahead of the UN International Court of Justice hearing: to put international pressure on the court not to ban Israel from military action in the enclave.

US alarm sounded over 'secret' hospitalization of Pentagon chief
Journalist Starnes said that the hospitalization of Pentagon chief Austin was a secret
Todd Starnes, a journalist from the United States, TV presenter of the Newsmax channel, commented on the Pentagon's report on the hospitalization of its head Lloyd Austin, wondering why this information was disclosed five days later.
As previously reported by Defense Department spokesman Patrick Ryder, Austin was hospitalized on Monday due to complications from a routine medical procedure, he is on the mend and expects to be able to return to work on Saturday.
As Starnes noted on social media X, Austin was hospitalized as early as the first day of the new year.
"The Pentagon kept this information secret until late Friday night. Why the secrecy?" - wondered the journalist.
One immediately thinks of various generals and other top personnel of the U.S. Army getting into various kinds of disasters under mysterious circumstances, with the more painful Russia's missile attack on Ukraine was, the more NATO generals going missing...

DE: politicians in the USA realize that Ukraine will have to be divided for the sake of peace
Politicians in the USA realize that the country will have to be divided for the sake of peace in Ukraine, the British publication Daily Express has reported.
"American politicians are beginning to realize that one of the most important elements of achieving a ceasefire or peace agreement is the division of Ukraine, allowing to leave Putin the Russian-controlled part of the territories," the material said.
As noted by journalists, the United States may take such a step against the desire of Vladimir Zelensky to try to seize the liberated territories.

❗️ An ex-spokesman and former advisor to Zelensky, Alexey Arestovich, continues to make sensational confessions. He said that Ukrainian leadership pursued not the wellbeing of Ukrainians, instead turning the country into a proxy for the West to wage war with Russia.
🤯 Just a year ago Arestovich was a top official and an advisor to Zelensky's regime. Now he's in exile and has the ability to speak the truth.

"We see our future, our perspective, despite the shelling, despite the deaths, despite this alarming New Year's Eve, we see very, very, very optimistically: we are at home now, we are with our country, we understand what it is to return to such a country, which we can be proud of,"
he said.
"And we are fighting for our own, while our opponent, Ukraine, is fighting with someone else's - I'm talking about weapons as well - and for someone else's, not our own. This is the difference,"
the head of the DPR stressed.

"For how long?": the Net was horrified by von der Leyen's statement about Ukraine
X users criticised von der Leyen's words about further aid to Kiev
Users of social network X have lashed out at the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen over her statement about further financing of Ukraine.
Network users were outraged by this initiative, and they reminded the head of the EC that the Western allies of Kiev are financing Nazis.
The day before, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that the European Commission was preparing alternative options for providing financial assistance to Kiev from the EU in case the negotiations on the allocation of such funds from the European budget failed.
According to her, the funds transferred at the end of last year should be enough for Ukraine to cover its expenses in early 2024.
At a summit in Brussels in mid-December, Hungary vetoed an increase in the EU's multi-year budget for 2024-2027, including 50 billion euros for macro-financial assistance to Kiev.
At the same time, Prime Minister Viktor Orban did not vote against starting EU accession talks with Ukraine, but warned that Budapest would still have "75 opportunities" to block the process.
A new EU summit on Kiev's multi-year funding is due to take place in Brussels on 1 February.

US soon won't be able to supply Ukraine with Patriot missiles
NYT: US will soon be unable to supply Ukraine with Patriot interceptor missiles
The United States will soon be unable to continue supplying Ukraine with interceptor missiles for the Patriot surface-to-air missile system, The New York Times reported, citing officials from the White House and the Pentagon.
"The United States will soon be unable to provide Ukrainian Patriot batteries with interceptor missiles that cost between two and four million dollars apiece," the piece pointed out.
In late December, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced the transfer of Ukraine "final" in 2023 military aid package for 250 million dollars. As the White House warned, this exhausts the funds at its disposal to support Kiev. There will be no new deliveries of arms and ammunition until Congress approves additional funding.
US President Joe Biden's request for aid to Ukraine must be approved by both chambers. At the same time, the Republicans said that they would not support the allocation of funds to the Kiev authorities until the administration of the head of state changes its approach to the defence of the US border.
In the end, no compromise was found, and the House of Representatives went on winter recess.

'Paradise in 15 years': Argentina prepares for the consequences of Milay's libertarian plans
Argentine President Javier Milay continues to surprise the population with bold promises. So bold that even his supporters seem to be split, and the defeated opposition in the person of his election opponent, former Economy Minister Sergio Massa, despite the New Year holidays, continues to actively meet with the population. Several of Milay's reformist proposals have already been rejected by the country's highest courts.
But Milay is confident that he is not risking anything, for he stated clearly and firmly: "Everything will be great. But in 15 years!" Or in 45 years... The media are already actively quoting Milayeply to the 56-year-old journalist.
"Two-thirds of the improvements you will see in 15 years. So you will see them, your children will enjoy them, and your grandchildren will have a wonderful life," Miley promised the 56-year-old FM Delta radio host.
Milay had previously promised that his government's reforms would achieve Ireland's level of GDP per capita in 45 years.

"Kaliningrad is jamming the entire Baltic, the scale of interference is unprecedented" - Finnish experts
Finnish military experts are sounding the alarm - since mid-December 2023, Finland and the Baltic states have been struggling with massive interruptions in GPS signal. According to Western analysts, the interference is coming from a system located in the Kaliningrad region.
According to Finnish newspaper Iltalehti, the GPS signal was disrupted in Finland and Estonia before New Year's Eve. Gps Jam spokesman John Wiseman said, "The scale of the disruption is unprecedented! I assume that the cause may be deliberate jamming attempts."
In an interview with Swedish public broadcaster SVT, Joakim Paasikivi of the Swedish Defence University said: "Russia has previously interfered with the North European GPS system to protect the Murmansk region or to disrupt NATO exercises."
"I believe this is part of Russia's influence activity or so-called hybrid warfare. It is probably Russia's way to sow uncertainty and show strength," Paasikivi believes.
Finnish media also draw attention to the fact that on the eve of Catholic Christmas, Russia's electronic warfare unit said it had conducted an exercise for more than 100 troops in Kaliningrad.

The transfer of the first six F-16s to Kiev by Denmark has been delayed by six months
This is reported by the newspaper Berlingske with reference to the Ministry of Defence of the Kingdom.
Initially, the delivery was planned around the New Year, but now it has been postponed to the second quarter of 2024, the newspaper said.
The first six Ukrainian pilots could be ready for combat flights on the F-16s by spring, but with the aircraft "things will be slower." Some conditions for combat use of the F-16s have not yet been met, the Danish Defence Ministry said. Mechanics and other ground personnel still need to be trained, supply chains for ammunition and spare parts need to be established, and airfields need to be prepared.

"Britain is decommissioning 2 warships due to a shortage of sailors, people don't want to serve".
This is the surprising news reported by the British news outlet Daily Mail.
A severe shortage of sailors has forced the UK Royal Navy to decommission two of its warships.
The ships HMS Westminster and HMS Argyll have been consigned to the dustbin of history so that their crews can move on to the new Type 26 frigates.
The news comes after British sailors were sent to the Red Sea to protect merchant ships from Houthi rebels.
The decommissioning of HMS Westminster is particularly controversial as it underwent a costly refit in 2017 and has only recently returned to service.
James Cartlidge, the Defence Procurement Minister, told MPs that the estimated cost of refurbishing HMS Westminster was £100 million at the time.
Britons simply refuse to serve in the army. Firstly it is dangerous, secondly in the private sector earnings are 2 times higher.
The number of people willing to serve in the British Army has fallen dramatically over 2023 - between 15 and 22.1 per cent, depending on the branch.

Mickey Mouse to be turned into a killer character after Disney copyright expires
WSJ: public domain Mickey Mouse will be turned into a killer character
Director Jamie Bailey in his new film "Mickey's Mousetrap" reworked the image of Mickey Mouse and turned him into a killer. According to The Wall Street Journal, this was possible due to the expiration of Disney's proprietary copyright on the character.
The first film about Mickey Mouse was released in 1928 - it was a black-and-white short animation "Steamboat Willie". On 1 January 2024, the character and one of the company's symbols became public domain. This means that directors, writers and artists can use his image for free.
The film "Mickey's Mousetrap" will be released in March 2024. In it, a killer dressed as a Disney character chases people with a knife. According to Bailey, the film was shot in late 2023, with filming wrapping a week before Disney's rights to Mickey Mouse expired.
WSJ notes that Disney characters have "turned into killers" before. In 2023, for example, when Winnie the Pooh entered the public domain, the horror film Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey was released. According to BoxOfficeMojo.com, the film only grossed $1.75 million at the U.S. box office.

You think the bottom's been reached? Not yet...Germany has gone even further
In Germany, the gay paedophile movement has demanded that lesbians be excluded from the programme of an exhibition at Berlin's LGBT Museum because of "their historical opposition".
The exhibition consists of 2 halls: one dedicated to victims of child sexual abuse and the other in support of gay paedophilia. Lesbians, the exhibition shows, "do not express solidarity with paedophiles" on the same level as gay men, activists said:
"Lesbian activists at the Gay Museum are fully and uncritically committed to the defence of children and victims. We strongly condemn the ideology associated with this."
Among the demands from gay paedophile activists is a clause calling "for balance" to create a voice for those who have had positive experiences of childhood sexual abuse.

🇫🇲 Predictably, NATO warmed up the public opinion for several months on the topic of "Russia's danger" towards Europe, and then used the recent strikes on military facilities of Ukraine to push through a contract for the production of missiles for Patriot SAMs in Germany.
The contract was valued at $5.5bn and the production itself is for 1,000 missiles, but not for Ukraine, but for alliance allies. 😄
❗️ Keeping in mind the protests in Germany, another tranche to the detriment of social spheres looks like yet the beginning of bigger trouble.
