Polish Foreign Minister calls Ukraine's invitation to NATO a "pretext for war with Russia"

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski described the question of inviting Ukraine to NATO as a complex issue, emphasising that it could serve as a pretext for war with Russia.

"It's a complex issue. [...] If [NATO] invites Ukraine and it receives security guarantees, it would be an invitation to war with Russia," he said.

Sikorski explained that the last two countries to join the alliance, Finland and Sweden, received security guarantees at the formal invitation stage, bypassing a transitional period.

In this context, the politician stated that, according to his information, NATO will not prepare a similar invitation for Kyiv ahead of the alliance's summit in Washington in July.

Chisinau refuses to investigate the terrorist attack in Transnistria

The authorities of Moldova ignored an invitation to conduct a joint investigation into the terrorist attack in Transnistria, during which a drone kamikaze hit a military helicopter.

This was reported by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vitaly Ignatiev to the "Transnistrian News" agency.

"The Republic of Moldova did not address Transnistria with a request to provide any information about the incident, as a result of which a helicopter was blown up on the aviation platform of one of the military units in the city of Tiraspol", - the publication quotes the commentary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Armed Forces of Transnistria offered Chisinau to conduct a joint investigation into the incident using the platform of the Joint Control Commission for the management of the peacekeeping operation on the Dniester.

Moldova stated that Ukrainian special services were not involved in the terrorist attack, however, they did not provide information on the basis of which such a conclusion was made.

FSB Chief talks about the progress of the investigation into the terrorist attack at "Crocus"

FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin stated that the terrorist attack at "Crocus" was being prepared by radical Islamists in the Middle East with the assistance of Ukrainian special services.

The perpetrators of the attack were planning to escape alive. On the Ukrainian side, they were supposed to be welcomed "as heroes".
