Barnier’s administration had been in office for just three months, and will now go down as one of the shortest-lived in French history. The situation already sparked warnings about a looming political crisis, as the country finds itself under pressure from EU institutions due to deficit management matters.

#PeoplesHistory | 🇵🇸 Today, we remember the brave Palestinian people who stood up against the Israeli military occupation of Palestine in the massive uprising known as the First Intifada.

In 1987, protests began at the Jabalia refugee camp after an Israeli vehicle ran over and killed four Palestinian workers. The anger over the incident ignited the deep discontent of the Palestinian people that had been living under Israeli military occupation since the 1967 war.

Under Israeli occupation, Palestinians were subjected to curfews, raids, arrests, imprisonment, deportations, property demolitions, and displacement of Palestinians to suppress popular resistance and make way for the Zionist settler-colonialist project of creating a completely Jewish state.

In an unexpected turn of events, Romania is heading toward a repeated presidential election after the constitutional court annulled the first round held at the end of November two days before the second round.

The annulled vote saw right-wing “sovereignist” Călin Georgescu take the lead, followed by Elena Lasconi of the Save Romania Union (SRU), another right-wing candidate, championing neoliberal policies.

The court’s decision followed allegations of election manipulation, with some alleging Russian interference in the electoral process in favor of Georgescu.
