100 YEARS OF MALCOLM X

Today, on his 100th birthday, we remember and celebrate the US Black revolutionary and internationalist Malcolm X. Malcolm X dedicated his life to dismantling white supremacy, capitalism, and imperialism, with the firm belief that a united working class and a revolution was necessary to overturn these systems.

#PeoplesHistory | 🇨🇺 Today, on his death anniversary, we remember the Cuban independence leader and writer José Martí.

Martí was a Cuban poet, thinker and an essential figure in the Cuban struggle for independence from Spain. Through his writing and undeterred leadership, he became a symbol of liberation and freedom for all in Latin America and the Caribbean, reaching the heights of Simón Bolivar and Augusto Sandino. Martí coined the concept of "Our America", a political, social, cultural, and economic alternative to the America subjugated by US imperialism.

Demands grow stronger for Israel to fully lift the blockade on Gaza and to allow for the distribution of aid throughout the besieged enclave.

UN humanitarian chief Tom Fletcher warned during an interview with BBC on Tuesday, May 20, that 14,000 babies in Gaza could die in the next 48 hours if the trucks carrying aid do not reach the affected communities in time.

At least 500 trucks need to enter Gaza each day to meet the basic needs of its population, which is estimated at 2.1 million, according to the UN. However, Israel has allowed less than a dozen trucks to enter the enclave, and the UN teams are not able to distribute the aid due to logistical hurdles imposed by Israeli authorities.
