🚩Yugoslav partisans honored on 84th anniversary of Igman March
The traditional march pays tribute to the members of the First Proletarian Brigade and the great campaign of the People’s Liberation Army. From January 27-28, 1942, hundreds of partisan fighters crossed Mount Igman in freezing temperatures, to reach liberated territory in Foča, breaking through Nazi encirclement.
The Igman March is remembered as a crucial moment for the Yugoslav resistance in World War II and is often cited as a reminder of the determination and perseverance of the partisans.

“The attack on Niamey Airport amounts to an act of sabotage against Niger, given the airport’s strategic importance and its proximity, second only in security significance to the presidential residence.” Aboubakar Alassane, a Nigerien leader of the anti-imperialist West Africa People’s Organization (WAPO), told People Dispatch.
Nigerien defense and security forces said they thwarted a coordinated militant attack on Diori Hamani International Airport in the capital, Niamey, late last week. Nigerien forces killed 20 assailants, and four soldiers were wounded.
The Islamic State (IS) group claimed responsibility for the attack, claiming that it had inflicted significant damage on the site. Nigerien authorities said the attackers attempted to infiltrate the airport and airbase, facilities that host key military installations and the headquarters of the Niger, Burkina Faso, and Mali Joint Force, a regional mechanism established to combat armed groups operating across the Sahel.

In a major victory for the Palestine solidarity movement, six Palestine Action activists who faced charges over a break-in at an Elbit Systems plant in Filton, near Bristol, were either acquitted or not convicted of all offenses.
“Despite government efforts to prejudice this trial, citing allegations of violence to justify treating Palestine Action as ‘terrorists,’ as if they were already proved, the jury which heard the evidence has refused to find the defendants guilty of anything, not even criminal damage,” a spokesperson for Defend Our Juries said following the verdict. “It shows how out of step this government is with public opinion, which is revulsed by the Government’s and Elbit’s complicity in genocide.”
