🇮🇷⚡️🇺🇸🇶🇦 Iran's kamikaze drones have managed to destroy an American AN/FPS-132 EW radar in Qatar, a $1.1 billion ballistic missile tracking system.
I cannot stress how incredible this is.

🇮🇷⚡️🇦🇪🇶🇦🇧🇭🇰🇼🇸🇦 As escalation continues with no visible off-ramp, Iran holds another lever that hasn’t fully entered public discussion: desalination infrastructure.
Roughly 60-70% of potable water in several Gulf states comes from coastal desalination plants.
Unlike oil facilities, which affect markets, desalination plants affect civilians directly and immediately. Water is a very expensive commodity in the Gulf. Shut it down, and the cities feel it within days.
From a purely military-strategic lens, this represents asymmetric pressure. Fixed coastal infrastructure is far harder to hide or harden than mobile military assets.
This may appear extreme, even cruel. But strategic coercion has always revolved around leverage. The uncomfortable truth of warfare is that negotiations tend to favor the side capable of imposing unbearable costs. Control over water (especially in arid regions) is one of the most powerful forms of pressure imaginable.

⚡️🇰🇼🇺🇸 This keeps getting better and better.
Don't be surprised by foreign pilots flying in the ranks of small Gulf States, this is the norm here. Due to limited quality pilot training capacity across the region, many nations employ or contract pilots/instructors from outside.
Qatar has joint UK-QEAF Typhoon squadrons with ex-British/RAF pilots integrated.
UAE Air Force openly uses foreign/contract pilots and instructors from Pakistan (many ex-PAF on deputation or civilian contracts, at Al Ain for training), Morocco, Canada, Jordan, South Africa, and others.
Kuwait and Bahrain follow suit, relying on Western (US, Canadian, Australian, British) expatriates/contractors in advisory, instructor, or fill-in roles for their F/A-18s and F-16s, given small indigenous cadres.
Only Saudi Arabia has built a decent core of native aviators (though nepotism plays its part).
PS: Gulf States are monarchies. Family and tribal connections mean meritocracy takes a backseat. It's just how things work here.
