The “Gold Standard Restoration Act” – Explained
On April 4, 2023, Congressmen, Andy Biggs, Alex Mooney and Paul Gosar, introduced the “Golden Standard Restoration Act,” (H.R. 2435) which proposes that the USD be pegged with a fixed weight of gold.
If the bill is passed, then 24 months will be given to the Federal Reserve and US Treasury to disclose all gold holdings and transactions, publicly. The USD would be officially re-pegged with a fixed weight of gold at its current market price.

In July 2000, Elon Musk, the CEO of X.com, an online payment company, announced a plan to create "the most valuable financial institution in the world."
The plan involved expanding the company's services beyond just online payments to include banking and financial products such as checking and savings accounts, credit cards, and loans; with the goal of creating a one-stop-shop for all of a person's financial needs, leveraging the Internet to offer these services at a lower cost than traditional brick-and-mortar banks and providing a better user experience.
Eventually, the company was sold and renamed itself as PayPal.
Today, modern distributed ledger technology (DLT) such as blockchain, can potentially enable many of the key points of Musk's 2000 plan. For example:

Web1 was a revolution because you could send infomation over the world wide web. Suddenly, you didn’t have to send a letter to grandma - you could send an email.
= Postal/courier service is no longer the bottleneck to communication

Web2 allowed us to send MEDIA like images, audio/music, and video. Suddenly, you could upload pictures of your cat or livestream your childbirth…
= Media publishers/distributors are no longer the bottleneck to the flow of media
- -
Web3 (Distributed Ledger Technolog or DLT) allows us to send VALUE via the world wide web - now you can “text” $5 to your friend - and you can do so SECURELY.
= Central Banks are no longer the bottleneck to the flow of currency
(currents flow between the banks of a river, and when all/most currency flows through [their] banks = they have control = Non Plus Ultra)

More than that - web3/DLT also matures distributed computing and storage - like bittorrent - where anyone can become a “node” that creates, transacts, and consumes.
