Russian diplomat Vasily Nebenzya tells the UN Security Council that Washington threatened to blow up the Nord Stream pipeline, then expressed happiness that it had been blown up, and now rejects demands for an independent investigation:
"In response to all attempts by Russia, as the party affected by the Nord Stream explosion, to get involved in the national investigations by Denmark, Sweden, and Germany, we received only refusals and stonewalling...
You don't have to be a detective or an analyst to understand that the United States and its allies are trying to cover their tracks, including throwing in all sorts of fabrications and delusions and refusing to respond to facts that are inconvenient for Washington.
I am sure the more detailed facts will emerge, all those involved in the sabotage against Nord Stream will be identified, and the details of this crime will be revealed. It cannot be avoided."
