Anyone else save links on Android and then completely forget about them?
I save links all the time - articles, videos, tools, mostly with good intentions.
But weeks later, I can’t remember:
* Why I saved it
* Where I saved it
* Or if it’s still relevant
Between browser bookmarks, notes, and random apps, things get scattered fast.
Lately I’ve been trying to simplify:
One place for links, less manual sorting, better search.
Still experimenting, but it’s made me realize how broken the default “save for later” experience is.
How do you handle this on Android today? Any apps or workflows you actually stick with?

Best files reader app
I use Microsoft 365 but its interface is more focused on the AI now. I want something simpler to open/read/edit files (doc/PDF/ppt). No adds or one time payment would be appreciated.

Would you rather be able to BLOCK all distractions or CREATE tasks and PLAN your days with your voice?
I am currently deep in the trenches right now trying to figure out in what direction to take my productivity app in.
I have 2 core features that both seem useful to me and I would use but I'm realized that in order to make a successful app I need to choose solve one problem really well so I've been trying to figure out which feature to cut and which one to keep.
One on hand being able to block/track any and all distractions between desktop and mobile seems super useful so you know when and how much you're procrastinating but also being able to create tasks and projects while planning your life with voice and talking to the app seems super useful.
Would appreciate your guy's thoughts on these two ideas and which feature you guys would find more useful!

Looking for notes app with widget and search function
I currently use the Googles Notes app, but since my notes are usually very long, it's frustrating I cant search inside them. Before, I used the Samsung Notes, which is great, but I switched phones and currently dont own a Samsung. So, I would like to have a simple Notes app, that offers the following:
- Large Widget, 4x4 that immediately lets me see my notes, no tapping into it needed (like Google Notes or Samsung Notes)
- Search inside note possible, the search leads you to the keyword
- No clutter. I need the design to be minimalist/clear and no bright colors
- No subnoscription. One time fee of up to 20€ or free.
- Optional: More characters possible than in Google Notes (has a limitation to 20.000 characters)
- Optional: Cloud function would be neat, if I ever need to switch phones, but not necessary

An app that forces you to do 5 squats to open TikTok/Instagram
I'm building an Android app to stop doomscrolling by making you "pay" for screen time with physical exercise.
The Concept:
To open a specific app (like Instagram), a lock screen pops up. You must do physical exercise—verified by the front camera AI—to unlock it.
Key Features:
\- AI Pose Detection: Uses the camera to count actual reps. You can't just shake the phone to cheat.
\- Exercise Options: Choose between Squats, Pushups, or High Knees.
\- Emergency Button: You can skip the workout, but there's a 60-second "penalty wait" so it's not instant.
\- Usage Stats: Tracks how many squats you did vs. how much time you wasted scrolling.
My Question:
Would this actually help you reduce screen time, or would you just get annoyed and uninstall it? Be honest.

I like namida concept, but that app is super prone to crashing for me. Is there alternative to it?
I love the concept of more folder based library.
This is what I currently use, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.musicplayer.player.mp3player.white. but it's old so it's runs the risk of being discontinued

App to move chrome tab groups to another phone/browser?
I'm switching phones and using this move to go from chrome to Firefox
But I'm a tab horder and I actually have groups of tabs that I've organised and want to access on my new phone, but I have so many that going through and individually bookmarking each page is just impossible in my life atm
I've seen lots of desktop apps like workona, or tabbox etc but haven't been able to find something for android or even just a way to mass bookmark group tabs

I Tried Too Many Productivity Apps - These 5 Stayed
I've tried way too many productivity apps on Android over the years. Most are either bloated, distracting, or just glorified to-do lists. These 5 genuinely help me stay focused and organized.
# 1. Todoist
Still the gold standard for task management.
Clean UI
Powerful recurring tasks
Works great across devices
📱 Play Store:
# 2. Clock Orbit
This one surprised me.
It’s a minimal, distraction-free clock + productivity tool that focuses on time awareness and focus, not endless features.
Beautiful, calm UI
Helps with time blocking and deep focus
No ads, no clutter
📱 Play Store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.clockorbit
# 3. Notion
Best all-in-one workspace.
Notes, tasks, databases
Insane customization
Learning curve is real, but worth it
📱 Play Store:
# 4. Habitorbit
Great for building and tracking habits that support productivity, not just reminders.
Habit tracking with progress visualization
Builds routines that reinforce focus and consistency Play Store: [https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.habitorbit](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.habitorbit)
# 5. Forest
If phone distraction is your enemy, this helps.
Gamified focus sessions
Encourages staying off your phone
Simple but effective
📱 Play Store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cc.forestapp
Productivity apps only work if they reduce friction. If an app makes you manage the app instead of your time, it’s already failed.

Video compressor app that preserves metadata including location data?
Are there any Android apps that compress video files while also preserving metadata – including location/GPS coordinates – for the compressed output file?
I know the FFShare Android app can preserve metadata when compressing both image and video files but it absolutely refuses to preserve location data for MP4 files. And unfortunately Google Photos doesn't let you add location data to video files unless they're uploaded to Google Drive, which is a problem if you don't have enough space or otherwise don't want such videos on the cloud. I've used quite a few video compressor apps that preserve metadata including location when I was using iOS, but I haven't been able to find any Android apps that can despite researching for some time.
Does anyone know of any such apps? It'd also be a bonus if they were open source.
Thanks in advance.

Paid Android apps forgetting that I paid.
I recently had some strange issues after Play Store updated where it kept crashing. I tried clearing data but this did not help. I thought I might trying clearing Play Services Data. I also then noticed an option to uninstall Play Store updates. One of these seemed to fix the issue.
After clearing Play Services, I noticed alot of issues with apps. Lots of permissions being lost and not auto requested again so it took a while to re-enable those.
Finally, I had several paid apps where when I opened them, they immediately told me I need to pay and forwarded me to the play store. The only fix I found was to reinstall the apps.
However there is one app "LiveATC" that won't work. For whatever reason, when I go to the play store now, it says my phone is no longer supported (eventhough it was working fine). This means I can't reinstall it.
I even managed to download the APK from the store using aurora store and manually installing the apk via ADB but it didnt fix anything, still fowarding me to the play store.
Is there any solution to my issue to get it to realize I paid so I can use the app again?
BTW, play store auto updated again and started crashing again.

Looking for an app for random wallpapers
I've used to use an app called "SB Wallpaper Changer", but it would seem it got so deprecated and abandoned, it's no longer available. I liked its features for changing the wallpaper every x minutes, on unlock and on double tap on home screen and the fact it had no problem with my 3000+ wallpapers folder. Though I had to keep my wallpapers on my phone memory as it's so old it couldn't ask for microSD access. Now I'm looking for anything similar since it would seem that for whatever reason Android still doesn't have such a basic feature as random wallpaper from a folder every x minutes. Would be nice if the app was open source, as of now I'm using "Paperize", but it often crashes and sometimes zooms way too much on the "Fill" setting. (I guess that's when it crashes, because it can work fine on the same wallpaper.)
