Anyone know of a Linux or Linux-software advertisement I could analyze for an English project?

I was assigned an English project where I have to analyze an advertisement for rhetorical appeals (ethos, pathos, logos, etc.) I was thinking about analyzing an advertisement that has something to do with Linux. However, I understand that Linux is not really a company that tries to make money so its hard to find an advertisement for it. Can anyone think of an ad for Linux or really anything related to Linux (like a certain distro or an open source software)? It could be just a picture but preferably a minute or so long advertisement or showcase.

Ninja edit: It does not have to be a modern advertisement.

If you are interested in a design of a new mobile operating system, read my thoughts, share your opinion.

Here is the [link](https://medium.com/@denisobrezkov/designing-a-new-operating-system-to-be-more-efficient-in-information-processing-20e5e8114b8).

I don't really like how puri.sm's one or Plasma Mobile look or how they are implemented. I also don't like many things in Android. I am really missing a mobile touch-screen oriented operating system that would be a great tool for work.

So, I wrote some of my thoughts about future design. If you are interested in the topic, please, read the post, share your thoughts. Since, I am a PhD student and my PhD topic is heavily related to the topic of mobile security and usability, I decided that for the next two years I want to work on the proposed system (I actually started this way by applying for the PhD in that field and by participating in GSoC with a related topic).

Using Windows after trying Linux is...Hell

I was one of the guys who recently switched to Linux, starting with Mint to trying different other distros on my little laptop and i loved it.
It’s night and day compared to Windows, lightning fast and get the job done. My wifi works way better in Linux i don’t know why, apps launch faster, the amount of customization is unreal, and the most important thing is,the community.

Linux users are one of the kindest communities i know( i’m not talking about arch people who thinks they are the smartest in the world),helping you with any issue you encounter, explaining how the OS works, and more.

But two things, made me re-install windows 10 back to my machine,Office and my iphone.
I’m still in the university,we often have group projects and similar stuff, and of course 99% of my colleagues use Windows, the rest MacOS,and i never saw a single one using Linux. So working with them using LibreOffice is just impossible, presentation won’t be compatible(well technically they will be they won’t look the same),neither the big excel or word documents.
And second,my smartphone. It isn’t always plugged to my PC,but sometimes i want to do a backup, transfer some music,pictures..etc.At the beginning i didnt know iphones doesn’t work with Linux, but when i discovered it i was really disappointed.

So my journey with Linux ends here “for now”,I’m currently on Windows 10 PRO and i hate it,everytime i open my laptop i remember when i installed Linux and everything was smooth and fast, made my machine fly,but it just doesn’t do it for me.

I want to thank all of you guys who are helping people migrating to Linux and assisting them, i will definitely come back to a distro once i see that these two things are figured out. Take care !

Was tldp.org DDoS-ed yesterday?

[tldp.org](https://tldp.org) started showing a blank page ca. 9-12 hours ago, although the browser showed that the site finished loading. Also, when trying to refresh it, it was successful about 1 out of 30 times.

Does anyone know if the site was down? And if so, was it due to the same wave of DDoS attacks that affected Wikipedia, Twitter and the new Blizzard World of Warcraft servers yesterday?

Is it true that most poweruser/admins hate Ubuntu?

Chris Titus published a YouTube video where he explains his reasons for hating Ubuntu: [https://youtu.be/L7uL50zVZJA](https://youtu.be/L7uL50zVZJA)

Is this opinion held by most community members? I was under the impression that Ubuntu has the largest install base on both Digital Ocean and AWS.

Or, is this opinion held by most desktop users?

I have been using Deepin OS for a few months now and I rarely come accross other Deepin users. However, I am very curious about other people's opinion towards Deepin OS, feel free to go all out :)
