Midnight Commander behaves differently with sudo?

Since I'm mainly managing Nginx I like to always run MC under sudo. But when I do that it no longer recognises my default editor (micro) and always uses nano.
Also switching to plain shell to type commands don't work because it seems the shell is not released for new commands after running "sudo mc".

Is there any way I can fix these two issues?

Thanks!

Edit:

my Fish config looks like this:

export EDITOR="/usr/bin/micro"

export SUDO_EDITOR="/usr/bin/micro"

export VISUAL="/usr/bin/micro"

Sometimes there are too many options

While I love that there are so many distro choices so everyone can find the right one for them it can also be annoying. I have OpenSUSE Tumbleweed with XFCE on my laptop because "it just works", Raspbian on the Raspberry Pi and Manjaro with KDE on desktop. I also have to ssh occasionally to other Linux (and BSD) boxes. For shells I have to use bash, zsh or tcsh depending on the system and so often I find myself wondering why something isn't working till I realize I'm using wrong syntax or command for the environment in question.

Sorry, rant over now.

SQL Server on Linux Usage

I'm doing research for an upcoming course and would be really interested to hear how people are using SQL Server on Linux out in the wild. What have been your best/worst experiences, especially in comparison to using it on Windows? Loves/hates vs other RDBMS on Linux. If you were designing a course, what would you want students to know? Thanks!
