Archiving encrypted data
Do you think there are people out there, that save all encrypted data, that they can get and save it until the time has come that computers are fast enough that they can easily decrypt this data? Are some encryption protocols more affected by this problem than others?
Thanks for your answers

Contextutron: A Linux Touchbar
About a week ago, I posted an idea for a touchbar for Linux ([https://www.reddit.com/r/linux/comments/d4nchc/idea\_for\_a\_touch\_bar\_for\_the\_linux\_desktop/](https://www.reddit.com/r/linux/comments/d4nchc/idea_for_a_touch_bar_for_the_linux_desktop/)). Now, I am happy to show a simple python prototype, at the moment it works with; kate dolphin, konsole, and gedit. I would like to show it: [https://github.com/boredom101/contextutron](https://github.com/boredom101/contextutron). Instructions are in the readme. Please tell me what you think.

What are some cliches and stereotype about your distro that are actually true?
A few days ago I saw the opposite being asked, with interesting replies. I thought asking if any cliches are actually true would be similarly eye-opening.

Is Linux Getting Boring (perhaps in a good way)?
Is Linux is getting boring to anyone else? - I mainly follow Ubuntu. Each update seems less and less exciting to me. A few years ago there was a sort of Window Management War going on, and each release on each distro had exciting and new changes that I loved following and reading up on. Now things are settling down, becoming more stable, and the big sweeping changes turned into small incremental ones. No huge WM changes, no big and crazy unified phone/desktop system being worked on, not really much of an investment from Canonical to take over the consumer desktop market, just gradual stability and speed improvements. I think the most exciting projects I am following these days are Proton and VSCode (of all things). -- I'm not really complaining, just noticing.
