It's bugged me for years but why is Open Source software so spectacularly and seemingly universally unable to include a single paragraph in their publication - be it a website, a page, release notes, a repository - that provides a statement of function.
A statement of function that says something as simple as:
"This is xyz. It is a driver/noscript/widget that does blah. It was started in 1862 and the latest release was on 1 September 2019.”
I've lost track of the number of projects that just assume that you know what their reason for existence is.

macOS Catalina "upgrade" is all about entertainment and has nothing to do with computing...
I just upgraded this week, and the slow down is noticeable.
And I just watched the highlight slides (14), and it's basically all about TV, games, music and selling me something.
Brutally horrible!
I literally have a dozen+ Linux CPUs running in my home, and I'm finally going to make Linux my main desktop by converting this 2.3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 to Ubuntu or Yocto (unless you moderators delete my post).
Come on man, open computing is about freedom, freedom from spying, & freedom of speech!

I know (and use Alacritty) and Kitty, but what would be your terminal recommendation?
I'm not fluent on terminals that exist out there, I would use gnome-terminal if nobody says to me there are alternatives I would never switch. I'm currently using Alacritty but was wondering what other alternatives there exist aside from Kitty.
