Is there a Linux music player with ReplayGain and good library management that doesn't suck?
In the past year since switching my personal laptop from Windows 10 to Linux, I've been searching for a good music player app. On Windows I used MediaMonkey.
I must have tried at least 20 or 30 different Linux music players since then. I finally settled on Clementine, but it has some bugs which are making it nearly unusable for me. The biggest issue is that it seems to have a bad memory leak. I spend a lot of time creating playlists, which means I'm listening to the first 10-20 seconds of a ton of songs, one after the other, trying to decide if I want it in my playlist. Every time I do this, it bogs down after a few minutes. Songs start to buffer for a few seconds when I click on them, instead of playing immediately. Then it buffers again if I try to skip ahead in the song. Eventually it just freezes up altogether. So I've gotten in the habit of restarting the application as soon as it starts to buffer. Since development on Clementine seems to have halted in 2016, there's seemingly no chance for a bug fix, unless I want to delve into the code myself. But even when it's working normally, I don't like Clementine that much. So investing the time to fix the bug(s) doesn't seem worth it. And I have too many side projects as it is.
So, are there any Linux music player apps that don't suck? Ideally, there would be something like MediaMonkey for Linux. But as a bare minimum, I need something with ReplayGain support, good (but not necessarily stellar) library management features, and ease of creating/managing playlists.
Btw, I have gotten MediaMonkey to run in Wine, but not reliably. And I'd prefer to have a native app rather than constantly having to troubleshoot Wine issues for every new MediaMonkey release, or every time I decide to switch Linux distros.

Linux kernel maintainer says that Intel chipsets have more Spectre like vulnerabilities. No way to fix besides disabling hyperthreading with 20% performance cut.

* An operating system is commonly considered a whole environment but also primarily based on the core of the system (kernel). The Kernel is what makes the core of how the OS functions different between Linux, Windows, MacOS, and the rest.
* A Distribution is a collection of applications and the kernel/Operating System. This is the complete package that is installed for most users. This also includes the Desktop Environment, Window Manager/Compositor, Windowing system, and init system, all of which are listed as more questions in the poll.
* A Desktop Environment is considered in this survey a collection of shared applications using a similar similar design methodologies (and GUI toolkits) - meaning these applications share core features on how a user interacts with their system.
* A Window Manager/Compositor works between the windowing system (see what a windowing system is below) and the user. This is what controls what and how most programs are drawn on the screen and presented to the user.
* A Window System does the most basics of how something is drawn on the screen - the Window Manager/Compositor talks to the Window System, then the Window System talks with the Operating System/hardware.

It's a platform for grid computing where every computer gets tasks depending on the projects you are subscribed to. The idea is to use the computing power of your computer (or server) while it is IDLE for scientifical purposes. It has a very nice but dated GUI (you can still use CLI), and it can be controlled remotely through the GUI and an unofficial ncurses GUI.
It has helped on many scientific breakthroughs, like the detection of gravitational waves or the analysis of tabby star. And is used by organizations as important as the CERN and the SETI.
It has tasks for both GPUs and CPUs (depending on the project), and some projects run on Android too (although i don't recommend running it on a phone you are currently using) .

I personally run the LHC@home as CPU tasks, and einstein@home as GPU tasks.

Wiremapper: a Linux application for the Pockethernet hardware
I bought the Pockethernet hardware back when it was still on indiegogo, for people who never dealt with ethernet testers: It's a device that you use to test network cables, in the pockethernet case the tester is a bluetooth device you're supposed to use with an Android phone.
The phone requirement annoyed me for a long time and would like my test results directly on my laptop. I finally took the time to write a nice GTK3 application for it that can now do some of the basic features. I haven't managed to make some of the more advanced features work like the cable length tests and more advanced link tests like DHCP and the various port-id protocols.
It's written in python and split in two parts, [Wiremapper](https://gitlab.com/MartijnBraam/wiremapper) is the GTK3 application and the [pockethernet library](https://gitlab.com/MartijnBraam/pockethernet-protocol) that actually handles the communication with the hardware. This makes sure that it can support other testing hardware and probably a QT5 frontend.
I hope that I can make some other network administrators very happy with this application :D

TRying to get QT Creator and Android sdk to get along. I've been working on this for three days. Videos, articles, etc and just can't get this one little error to go away. Can anyone give me a push in the right direction?
