Windows are fucked, I'm switching to Linux

After many years (and problems) using Windows, unstable OS, TONS of blue screens, crashes ect. I finally decided to switch to Linux, after spending for another time 3+ hours trying to find WHY THE FUCK IM GETTING A "Automatic Repair" LOOP. I tried everything:

Restarting

Closing it and opening it again (it's not the same as restarting)

changing settings in bios (because I thought that the problem CANT BE AGAIN WITH WINDOWS)

Opening Windows in "safe" (HA) mode

Trying Windows "repair"

Trying to run commands in command prompt in order to fix possible drive issues

Reading every single article, Forum/Reddit post

Watching every single YouTube video

I tried every setting in the crappy window that pops up when there is a problem and Windows can't boot up (usually when it has full moon and the time that it has passed since last time Windows crashes divided by 3, is less than the million's of dollars that Microsoft makes every day (I know, it was a bad joke)), but guess what,

I tried to uninstall updates, but guess what,

I even tried to reset Windows, but guess what,

WINDOWS DINT FUCKING LET ME

People (including myself) complaining about Windows bugs all the time and Microsoft does nothing to fix them. That was not the first time that I had problems with Windows but you know what?
It was the last one, after I'm done writing this post I'm gonna install Linux (most likely Ubuntu).

I have read a little bit about Linux and everything looks good to me.
It's open source, free, simple, has few/none bugs, big companies run their servers on Linux because is more stable (imaging Windows taking down all Google's servers because Cortana wanted to send private data to Microsoft LOL), you can pretty much customise everything and it has a great community.

I have only 2 questions for you:

What problems do you had with Windows before switch to Linux?

What a Linux user can do, that a Windows user can't?

I'm writing this from mobile now.
Thanks Windows.

How do I make a custom Mint live USB?

So I got Linux Mint on a live USB, easy enough. But now I’d like to have a custom Linux Mint live USB with my system preferences, maybe some applications, a lockscreen, etc. I’ve googled, but most guides are for Debian or Ubuntu.

What’s the simplest way to do this? I’m guessing installing Mint, customize it, then make it into a bootable ISO somehow?

As a Linux user, do you prefer an Android or iPhone and why?

I prefer iPhone because I can still reliably use my old 5s.

Where to donate?

Free software projects have given me a lot and I want to start giving back.

I am thinking about compiling a list of free software organizations to donate to. I could rotate through it whenever something to donate is left. Projects that I use like The Linux Foundation, GNU, Gnome, Kde or Arch come to mind.

What are some other projects that are worth donating to? Where do you donate to?

The paradox of choosing a distribution

Hey, folks. I'm a computer enthusiast and programmer. I've been mainly using Windows as my OS for like 10 years but I have some experience with Linux. I started taking Linux seriously recently, I am considering using it as my main OS. I've used Ubuntu, Mint and Debian. I also have Arch installed but the long installation process was very boring and kinda discouraged me.

Now the question, what distribution should I use? I want to really dive deep into Linux and understand how it works. I want to become a computer professional, hence things like operating systems should be grasped well for me to be so.

My experience with Linux so far

1. It is ugly out of the box

Linux has been largely used in the server scenario, yet there are many deluded morons out there who think it can compete against both Windows and Mac OS when it comes to desktop usage. If you have ever used Linux, you know what I’m talking about: it is EXTREMELY ugly. Not to mention the bad UX, I have had many crashes using both Ubuntu and Fedora. Never tried Arch or Gentoo, I just don’t get why fucktards use these distros, maybe they think they are 100% anonymous and their data won’t be collected anymore, or they feel superior because they use a different package manager and went through a command-line installation (LMFAO).

2. Mistakenly claimed as “stable”

Debian is where Linux started, and where it should have ended. There are many retards out there who claim that Debian 10 is the “GOD of stability”. This is fucking hilarious, I have NEVER had any crashes using Windows 10 on VirtualBox and NEVER had any BSODS or stuttering on my Windows 10 workstation, however when I decided to deploy a Debian 10 VM the GUI won’t simply appear. I tried again, and again and again until it simply won’t work at all and I was just being fooled, but that’s what Linux is all about – a fucking joke.

There will always be that guy who says they have an Amiga at home and a Linux workstation and server, and left it turned on for years. If you believe people who claim nonsensical bullshit like this, you should really go see a shrink (one can easily fake the uptime of their machine).

3. It is not safer than Windows

Windows is the most exploited operating system in the history of the entire world. But, why? It holds over 90% of the global market share. So, if it is the most used OS out there it simply means it’s the best, and therefore the most profitable to be exploited. Don’t come with that bullshit that it’s a trendy OS made for domesticated low IQ users just because you use a tilling window manager on Arch and runs cmatrix and neofetch on your zsh terminal, then posts it on r/unixporn, not to mention “I use arch BTW”.

Windows is an operating system made by serious people who work for cash in a company that protects their trademark, not for donations, nerdy acronyms like “LINUX IS NOT UNIX” or “WINE IS NOT AN EMULATOR”, HAHA HAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA, not to mention having a penguin as their trademark (What the actual fuck). Microsoft developers have had plenty of work ever since the first release, and Windows just keeps getting better.

Linux is not safer than Windows because it’s less attacked. In fact, it can be easily exploited since it’s open-source. Any motherfucker can open GitHub on their web browser, get the kernel source code and easily look for security flaws and exploit them, it is fairly easier to damage a computer running Linux because of the poorly written reverse engineered drivers. I myself have watched a presentation in which a pentester easily breaks into a Linux server via SSH, and officially claims it is NOT safer than Windows. Moreover, Windows is just safer than ever now with the new patches, one can simply rely on Windows Defender and not install an Antivirus. I have never had my PC infected, and I’ve started out with MS-DOS.

4. It won’t make you a better programmer AT ALL

Windows supports software development in most programming languages out there, expect Apple-made languages like Swift and Objective C. The fact that you run a file manager and vim on your terminal doesn’t make you a better programmer, nor because you’re using a UNIX-like operating system with a messy file structure, not to mention being case-sensitive which is a really bad practice. Windows file structure uses backslash (no big deal) and is NOT case-sensitive, forcing you as a programmer to wisely name your files and folders, and avoid mixing up lowercase and upper-case characters.

What makes you better as programmer is writing clean and efficient code, including strong debugging skills, team-work mindset and out-of-the-box thinking. I’m sorry but every single time
a co-worker says that they use Linux at home, I just can’t help myself but laugh as soon as they’re gone.

So, you spotted another shitty job offer who needs someone with Linux experience? Simply don’t apply. People are not supposed to learn this crap, regardless of what they work with. Companies that require developers to have Linux knowledge should go back to the trash can, because what they’re doing is simply transferring the responsibility of network admins to programmers, so that instead of paying a full-time salary to a sysadmin, they fire them and pay you 100 bucks more just to do their job. It’s not because the internet runs on UNIX that you need to be a Network Administrator, again you’re a fucking PROGRAMMER, you are paid to do one and only one thing: build SOFTWARE. If you’re doing anything but only this, then you’re not a programmer, just another jack-of-all-trades so-called linuxtard guru.

I have been deploying Linux VMs at work for years, and I can’t stand the dependency hell and UNIX clusterfuck, everything is just a mess and you have to do lots of workarounds, sometimes I just wish I never knew Linux existed in the first place.

Linuxtard: Oh you’re a programmer, you should be a LINUXTARD. Join the penguin gang!

Normal Person: Fuck you, filthy bitch. A bad workman blames his tools, Windows – born and raised.

5. Lack of REAL software

Linux users just can’t have Visual Studio, Adobe products and other private software that would be required for professional work because companies won’t support it since they should focus in making cash, not attending needs for edgy assholes, right?

Thus, Linux fucktards claim that some of these companies are secretly paid by Microsoft not to deploy their software for Linux (not saying this couldn’t be true, MS got them smart moves. LOL) Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella is an open-minded guy, pretty much the opposite of Steve Ballmer, and is embracing Linux – but that’s another smart move. They have become platinum members of the Linux Foundation and are slowly buying control of Linux by showing support to the open-source initiative. “If you can’t beat your enemy, join them” describes The Linux Foundation sucking Microsoft balls perfectly.

6. Controversies

I’m not even going to talk about the ego controversies between Linux users when it comes to being superior by using an editor over another, or even if it’s about distros. Linus Torvalds flipped his middle finger and said “Fuck You” to NVIDIA, well I guess you know why… NVIDIA doesn’t really like GNUtards sucking on their balls for decent drivers, specially if they don’t know how to suck balls.

Richard Stallman is a fucking moron, the dude even said on a video he’s never installed GNU/Linux (doesn’t mean he’s never used it though). But the thing about him that I find disgusting is his thoughts on pedophilia.

“From the perspective of someone who cares about technology, Stallman’s views undermine the progress of free software, and will cement its reputation in some quarters as a fringe sphere populated by weirdos.” – extracted from TheNextWeb article “Free Software Icon Richard Stallman has some moronic thoughts about pedophilia”.

On the other hand, Bill Gates, alongside his wife, is a brilliant philanthropist nowadays, and has improved life on Earth in many senses and has never been involved in such a shameful polemic and doesn’t have disgusting thoughts. He emphasizes reading physical books as a MUST for every single human being out there as he’s passionate about reading and acknowledges we are life-time learners. His billion dollars is nothing compared is humility – something that someone just can’t have or buy, you are born and raised with it.

TL;DR

Linux users, fuck straight off.

I would like to thank both Tim Sweeney (despite hating Epic Games, including all Fortnite community, and gaming in general) and Steve Ballmer for their endless efforts on showing the world how cancerous Linux can be and showing these communist delusional morons their lives are extremely pathetic because they are retards who think using
an OS over another make them better than everybody else. Ballmer, however, was hypocrite when he said “I may have called Linux a cancer but now I love it”, it’s not because he doesn’t run Microsoft anymore and has made a lot of cash out of it that he should say something stupid like this – shame on you, pal.

Damn, the 90’s was a golden time. I remember back then when I was in college and my professors told me Linux was going to take over the world – I feel really bad for them now.
