Things to learn/implement this new year
Im kinda lagging behind on latest tech about linux server administration. So as the new year starts, i want to learn things.
What do you use on your infrastructure? we have colocation, cloud and aws/azure infra but thinking of getting into "compliance" this year like OSCAP
thanks.

Ardour: 20th birthday
It’s hard to pinpoint the precise day that a project like Ardour started. But if that’s the goal, then right now, December 28th 1999 is probably about as good a date as any. That means that today Ardour is 20 years old. It’s hard to write this, let alone…

Node.JS developers! What linux distro do you use?
I am developing an desktop app using Node, Vue and Electron. I am a big fan of Windows, but it is uncomfortable to me sometimes; it requires me to install something seemingly too much!
I researched for a week to find best OS, but I have concluded that there is no perfect one.
So, I don't ask for what distro is the best, but what Node developers actually use in development.
Please let me know what you are on, and cons and pros.
p.s. My interests for now: KDE looks nice but not sure it is good for development. I have a Debian based web server for 5yrs, I don't care your OS is Arch based or anything else.

How do I market Linux installs/service to my area?
I am starting a side gig installing Linux on computers.
I'd like to find ways to put Linux in the best light.
I will be using (just for ease) Ubuntu, Linux Mint, and Peppermint.
Not looking to make millions. I'm just looking to spread the good word of Linux and make a few bucks along the way.
Advice on direction is very much appreciated!

I'm also looking for a non-web based CRM/Invoicing system or systems. (GnuCash and KMyMoney don't work well enough). I am using Pycocuma for Contact management but would like to have a more "unified" system.

Thanks in advance.

GIF issue, Peek!
Hello, I'm a KDE user and I'm getting this issue from so long, I have posted everywhere but haven'e get any useful answers.
I'm using Peek to record GIF and Videos, though I have not got issue while viewing my .mp4 files, but I do have a big issue whenever I view my saved .gif file. I have given my gif file and this is how I can see my gif file (though I have recorded my whole page it only show my 2 sec captured view). Although I have checked SimpleScreenRecorder but I didn't find it very simple to use, like Peek.
I want it to get solved because I have many works related to GIF.
Please give me a solution.

Discuss: How's the Linux availability comes as OEM in your country.
Here I mean the PC (mainly refer to laptops) that offers Linux pre-installed on it before shipped to buyer.
In my country Malaysia, there was a few available choices to buy OS-free/Ubuntu pre-installed laptops many years ago. But nowadays, it's non-existent. No vendors would offer "Windows-less" devices, and if you want to buy a new PC, you have to buy Win 10 included.
So far there's only 2 sources I can get "Windows-less" laptops, they're all custom laptops and aim for gamers.
I admit I'm price sensitive, since I'm full-time Linux user for almost 5 years, I wouldn't want to spend the money on Windows license which I never want to use. Or I end up getting a gaming laptop that I don't game and fancy stuffs. So, the current market status in my country gives me a difficult choice on getting my next laptop. Windows is a monopoly here.
Let's discuss here how is the situation in your country, are the vendors in your country sell Linux pre-installed PC?

As this is the first official release of this plugin, it still has a lot of rough edges.

Indecisive on distros and WMs/DEs
I've experimented with Arch and Ubuntu (Kubuntu specifically) and I'm a bit torn as to which I prefer and is better.
I like KDE and it seems good for everyday use, however it seemed a bit bloated?
I used I3 on arch and loved it, however it took a lot of tinkering to achieve what I wanted and I still ran in into certain problems almost everyday.
I've heard good things about AwesomeWM, however have not tried it
Any input would be appreciated!!
