PSA: If you buy a Lenovo laptop you are forced to accept the Microsoft EULA before you can install Linux instead
I bought a new laptop that seems nice: Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen7. I'm currently working on setting up Ubuntu on it. However, even after extensive trying I was not able to circumvent the Windows activation on it. As if wasting time on a unnecessary Windows installation wasn't bad enough, during the Windows installation you have to accept the Microsoft EULA. Without installing Windows there is no way to access the UEFI BIOS and to change the boot medium to a memory stick.

Help/sponsors needed - further development of open source software
I'm the author of Polynimbus, open source multi-cloud infrastructure inventory and management tool (https://github.com/polynimbus). Development of Polynimbus started in 2015 and until today it supports 13 vendors of cloud services.
Unfortunately some of these vendor drivers have bad code quality, and functional limitations. Mainly:
1. Alibaba Cloud driver doesn't allow to create compute instances, and the rest of the code is untested, written only after documentation - since Alibaba Cloud company didn't accept my verification documents, which are required to activate their account and launch any resources (even outside China).
2. Rackspace Cloud (regarding their OpenStack-based cloud offer: https://www.rackspace.com/openstack/public/pricing) driver is also read-only, since Rackspace closed my account some time ago, and wants $50/month (apart of resource usage costs) for "management".
additionally:
3. Google Cloud Platform driver allow full compute instance management, but enumeration of other types of resources is incomplete. I have some fully working GCP accounts, but for further development and testing, I need read-only access to accounts with some bigger setup, not just 1 compute instance per account.
4. Exactly the same for Microsoft Azure - I have my customers' accounts, but with very simple setup, and I need access to accounts with more complicated setup (as above, read-only access is perfectly fine).
5. It would be great to write drivers for even more vendors. If you represent a cloud vendor, that could be interested in any type of integration, please let me know.
**If you want yourself (or your company) to be shown in Polynimbus Sponsors page (I'm about to create it) - or if you simply want to do something good for cloud services users - and you can help with the above problems, please just contact me** - we'll discuss the details. Note I can sign Non-Disclosure Agreements, if required.

Clear current line - command prompt
Hitting up arrow cycles through past commands. Sometimes, I accidentally hit up arrow and if I hit the down arrow right after it will go back to the blank line. But sometimes it doesn't, and the last command just stays there. If it's a long command, it's a pain to have to delete it. Any way to clear the whole line quickly?

Nervous about finally making the move to Linux
Hey folks, I hope this post is alright! I've been flirting with switching to Linux for my personal computer for a while: been running a dual boot of Ubuntu for machine learning, trying to get used to working with the shell, and figuring out how to get my software and games to function. I think I'm finally ready to switch to a full Linux boot for my personal laptop (deciding between a maxed out "System 76" Oryx Pro running Pop and a Lambda Labs Tensorbook running Ubuntu [any advice between these two options would of course be appreciated!]).
But I'm a nervous type guy, just waiting for this all to fall apart and learn that I'm not as capable of living beyond the safety net/stranglehold of Windows 10. So let me ask: what was the single biggest issue you had when you first switched to Linux, and how did you get past it? Looking for some stories to inspire confidence in me this week!

Hi Linux! I'm new to this community and OS... Can you recommend me a decent Video editor Tool for light 1080p footage?
I said light video editing footage because I will be using my Chromebook Pixelbook go (8th gen Intel core i5, 8gm ram) with LinuxBeta enable on it...
So I think like daVinci is out of question (or I'm wrong?)
So, reading a lot of you guys recommend Kdenlive.. but I also Read is super unstable.
Olive maybe?
If you can share with me any advice I'll appreciate it!
