This js my first time trying anything like this. For the past almost week ive been working the linux beta terminal on my chromebook and also crouton and both haven't worked so i thought that linux mint seemed to have a nice community so im trying to switch Chrome OS over to Linux with USB boot.

New Linux Distribution: Clear Linux by Intel

Hi there, I'm amazed!
I came across a new Linux Distribution developed entirely by Intel and Intel claims it can surpass in performance any Windows OS and any Linux Distribution nowadays.

With its software specially optimized for running in Intel hardware, even if it is very old Hardware (some web sites claim it works even better with AMD Ryzen CPU's) it's a must to any distro-tester out there to try.

It also has a brand new "package manager" to install software called "SWUPD", instead of "yum", "apt" or "dnf". And I say "package manager" in quotes because Intel says it does not install packages but bundles; saying that bundles is a better way to install software with all their dependecies included instead of installing and checking for separate dependecies in every installation (something like flatpak).

Converting Telnet to SSH

Hi

I have a console server that only supports telnet. So if I want to connect to 3 devices console port I telnet to my console server on [10.0.0.10](https://10.0.0.10) port 2001-2003

How do I setup a SSH server that will automatically connects my SSH session to a telnet session?

I want to be able to SSH to SSHPROXY:2001, login and get the telnet of [10.0.0.10:2001](https://10.0.0.10:2001).

I have looked all over the internet but cannot find a good solution for this.

Looking for a clipboard app with a specific feature

Maybe I'm really dumb, but google is not helping me to find this: I would like a clipboard app that, after copying 20 o 30 blocks of text, gives me the option to have a txt file with all of them pasted, one after each other. Does that app exist?

Do you have any SATA disks? I'm asking 10 seconds of your time to help with fwupd/LVFS

I'm trying to make updating ATA drives a bit safer and want to lock the firmware to a specific vendor. I've got a big (possibly incomplete) table-of-data with some globs that detect the vendor for each model string. There's nothing in the ATA spec for the vendors to use and so it's all quite inconsistent, hence the fuzzy matching.

Can you add a reply to this post with the output of `cat /sys/class/block/sd*/device/model` please. It's completely safe to run and no device access is done. Thanks in advance!

Considering switching to Ubuntu

So right now I have Win10 and its just horrible. Its slow, my computer randomly turns on and off for updates and the UI is a fucking nightmare. I actually dont do a lot on my PC other than web surfing, word for essays and some light gaming. Like Minecraft, Terraria and a special client (iw4x) for MW2 that is still played by a few hundred people. And generally games that are available on steam. Would I have to refrain from some of those things?
