Best modern software for distributed computing on Linux?
Are there any alternatives to BOINC? It's such an **outdated** piece of software, I don't know how to add GPU projects and it's very... ugly to use. Currently managed to get it working with CPU-only Rosetta@Home.

I have a Ryzen 3900x, and a Vega 56 that I really want to put to work. Honestly, I'd ideally like to be part of a blender render farm if anyone knows of a modern distributed computing project for that, to help out struggling artists.

Ubuntu or Ubuntu Studio?
Hello I have some old desktop with core2 duo 3ghz and 2.8gb of RAM, in case the GPU matters, it's Nvidia GT310 , I want to install Linux on it but I don't want to have poor performance, also I'll be using it for light-weight programming and CG, Some I guess I'm looking for some Debian based OS, I've tried both Ubuntu and Ubuntu Studio from USB drive, I felt like Ubuntu Studio is running better, so what do you recommend me? Is there a better version for my potato?

Block IP address once they access certain pages?
I see a ton of shit in my acccess log about
- /wp-login.php
- /sqladmin/index.php
- /php2MyAdmin/index.php
etc
There's no PHP on my server. I want to outright block people who try to get any pages that has "/wp-" or ".php" in it. How do I do this? I once tried fail2ban but it was complicated and didn't end up working (or I needed to write a noscript for it to work or something)
I was thinking of scanning the log files and automatically adding the IP address to iptables. Is that a good idea? Maybe `iptables -A INPUT -s THEIR_IP -j DROP` but I haven't tested if this is the right command.

Fastest RDP Server for Linux
Most RDP like xrdp are using alot of traffic, since they send everything as "video".
Is there an Linux alternative to the Windows RDP Service?
(Which is just sending meta data instead of like a Video)

Gamers who switched from Windows to Linux
Hi everyone
I am really loving linux but i personally find it lacking tons of basic features that need to be added manually which is silly imo.
But my main personal issue is Gaming. Yes proton has improved vastly over 2019 and is becoming better near bi weekly now in 2020.
But if you as a gamer are now on linux , what games do you play? How does performance differ if at all? What gpu,cpu ? Freesync or gsync?
I play AAA noscripts. What distro do you use? I LOVE ubuntus look and feel.
