This is why I switched to Linux:
1. It's buggy when you load an app or a text file.
2. It's bloated with junkware.
3. It's slow on bad hardware if you try to play a game or a video.
4.They Removed the option to downgrade to any previous version of Windows
5.The Linux community is a better place
Since I can't post pictures you can just picture it

Simplest network downtime logger?
I want a simple open-source Linux program that will log network downtime. I want something super simple. Either a graph or a table with the network downtime is all I care about. I don't care about the ping time or the network speed. I just want a list of outages with their date/time and duration.
I've looking into advanced solutions like netdata and smokeping, but they're too overkill in my opinion. I just want something I can use to directly compare ISP downtime.

USB Gadget Boards?
I've used a BeagleBone Black to create a USB gadget in the past. I'm currently contemplating a project that would want to create several gadgets controlled by a single PC, though, and I've not been able to find a board that allows that.
Does such a thing exist--either as a singleboard product like the BeagleBone or as an add-on card like a PCI card? Has anybody heard of someone attempting to do something like this with off-the-shelf hardware? Simple googling has not been effective.

Willing to pay someone to help me trouble shoot tonight - Linux Mint
I’m having a lot of trouble and I need help getting this setup.
I have a ton of work due, and an interview tmrw.
I would love if someone could just trouble shoot with me and guide me through this shit.
It’s really basic level stuff, but even sitting on google researching for 10 hours hasn’t yielded the results I expected.
So if anyone’s out there, please be my savior

Best snippet sharing platform with syntax highlighting?
Usually, in IRC and elsewhere, an external link with the snippet under discussion is used.
What CLI/noscript/webapp do you guys use which supports syntax highlighting?
Personally, I have found these:
http://ix.io/client
http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/trusty/man1/pastebinit.1.html

Coming from windows and missing some features in common desktop environments. Can you help me find them ?
Hi, these features are:
Drag&drop of URLs from the browser bar into a folder which automatically creates an URL shortcut there. I use this to create and manage bookmarks.
Quickly create shortcuts (symlinks) via right-mouse drag&drop-> create shortcut.
Shell here (not from windows, but a must have imho! I don't know why MINT Mate's file explorer doesn't offer this)
Dock windows to the left, right, maximize, restore, move them to another monitor via keyboard shortcut (this is so easy and intuitive in windows with just win+arrow keys)
Allow copy and&paste of the current location in the file explorer AND file chooser dialog. Mate has is in the file explorer only.
An easy way to create shortcuts to favourite folders (in windows you can just right-mouse drag them on to the task bar, then you have a 2-click access to them from the task bar)
These are so basic things that improve productivity and i care about them so much more than any new fancy widgets or themes. Can you point me some tips where to find them ?
Also a dektop wide (DPI) scale factor would be nice.

The Linux Foundation and The WINE project
As far as I know, WINE is developed by a group of volunteers and coders that only gets financial support by codeweavers. It is a VERY important project for Linux and IMHO it's probably the best way to increase the desktop market share.
Does the Linux Foundation provide any funding to the project? The Foundation has a budget of $15mln last year. Or are the commercial interests too big (lobbying from a Platinum member called Microsoft maybe?) to allow such a funding?
Same goes for Canonical: are they just developing WSL and Linux SW for Microsoft, or do they think that could be nice to have Windows SW on Linux?
Is it time that 600.000 /linux users start complaining with Jim Zemlin and Mark Shuttleworth???

What is the best PDF editor for Linux?
Is there any good pdf editor in Linux(Other than Libre)? I'd like to switch to Linux but the problem is I can't find a good pdf editor like Adobe Acrobat pro DC. Libre hangs when I load a big pdf file. Now editing pdf is essential for me for some reason and I'm familiar with Adobe Acrobat. In Adobe Acrobat there are many options which Libre lacks. So what do you suggest?
