Strategy to manage multiple linux installation personal
I have been using Linux for about 15 years in different flavors and machines.
It has been a lovely marriage, however, it is getting more complex as I am having more computers than when I was a teenager (3 + family) and each of the machine has a great deal of tinkering.
I would like to know what are your strategies for this, this is, how do you:
- Keep your personal data across multiple personal computers.
- Keep your aesthetics confs across each computer.
- Keep your backups running and visible in the three machines.
- Keep regular updates.
I have a great deal of experience in sysadmins, however, there things are more straightforward as you want to keep the same distro/version/update in every machine, and every machine specs are same.

Businesses that solely use Linux ?
What are common companies that use Linux for business? I am seeking a discussion and a beta test of security software that will prevent Stuxnet or SolarWinds et cetera attack vectors. We're a pure InfoSec small business with powerful software.

Having trouble getting linux to boot on older Mac
I have this old 2007 a1181 macbook that is no longer supported but otherwise works fine and I was trying to put Mint or something on it but I can't get the boot USB to be recognized, it works fine on my other mac. I tried different versions but no dice, it just doesn't show up. It's running OSX 10.7 and I tried Mint 32bit and Ubuntu MATE 32. You're supposed to hold the option key and boot but only the HD shows up no matter what I do.

Linux guidance
Howdy,
Been doing some research on RHCSA certification. What would you suggest is the best approach to studying effectively? Dedicating 6 months to studying before taking exam. Should be ready in 4 but really want to learn this. What distro/books/online resources do you recommend for this journey?

I have a NOOB question.
I have a old dusty laptop left to me by my dad, from when he sadly he passed away.
The laptop runs pretty slow.
I was interested in becoming a web developer in future. And i need a laptop for that.
So if i could run linux on this windows, it would help a bunch.
So, in short how do i get Linux on my windows 7 32bit laptop?
Thanks in advance for any replies, love you all. :)

What are the implications of deprecating the k10temp?

Restrict shell so u can only use some commands
Hey guys. I am pretty new to Linux so I am sorry if this is a starter question. Is it possible to restrict a shell to some commands? I am looking for a way to have ssh but only being able to use some commands.
For example. A shell where I only can use commands like
Ls, cat, grep, cd, find
So only commands where I can lookup some stuff and not being in danger of changing or deleting something.

Absolut Beginner: How to use CONFIGHZ1000 for a gameserver?
Good morning everybody. I am hosting a gameserver from home and Windows isnt cutting it despite very powerful hardware. After a lot of research it appears the way to go is Linux/ubuntu with a CONFIGHZ1000 Kernel.
While it appears straight forward to install Ubuntu, every documentation about how to use CONFIGHZ1000 seems to require some form of advanced knowledge that is way over my head to comprehend. Like compiling a kernel. Any advice or pointing fingers the right way would be appreciated. Thank you very much!

Is it me, or is Libre Writer and Mendeley integration terrible?
Am I doing it wrong?
In my experience the Mendeley reference plugin for Libre Writer is absolutely terrible. In-text citations aren't too bad (but God help you if you want to save as .docx to collaborate with colleagues), but building a reference list is completely broken.
Is there a better way or better software for academic writing? At this point I would happily install Word for an easy life. Mendeley referencing not available for Word365, as far as I know.
I have used Latex in the past, and whilst it works for me, collaborating on documents is not really feasible.
Help me /r/linux.

Tauon Music Box v6.5.0 released
This is my pet project Tauon Music Box. It's a modern style music player for Linux.
While this isn't a major release, its been a while since Ive shared this project on Reddit. Cumulatively there's been quite a few improvements since! The notable changes:
* Added tracker file playback support (mod, xm etc)
* Remote control Android app now available (In fact there's two)
* Added support for the self hosted scrobble server Maloja
* Added radio station search browser
* Added ability to play tracks from a Jellyfin server (Its kind of experimental, no promises)
* Entirely rewritten audio backend
* Enabled Flatpak builds for ARM/RPi
You can check it out the main website [tauonmusicbox.rocks](https://tauonmusicbox.rocks/) or see the [Github](https://github.com/Taiko2k/TauonMusicBox) page.
