Are flatpak really a security threat?
I came across this article on site which claims to be a flatpak killer, how much these claims valid till date? I'm concerned as I just start relying on flatpak for many programs due to recent switch to fedora?

Audio coming from speakers even if headphones are connected (Dual boot)
I installed Ubuntu about a month ago but since yesterday I'm facing a problem when I boot into windows and connect headphones it still plays though the speaker
To solve this I have to reboot the laptop to Ubuntu and then boot again into windows
Is there a proper solution or do I have to do this all the time?

If I uninstall a DEB package with Malware, does the Malware disappear?
Sorry for the question, I'm a linux ~~noob~~ layman and just started using it more often with Linux Mint (as my main system).
But I'd like to know.
I'm pretty neurotic with security, privacy, and that sort of thing.
I installed a .deb of dubious source, and obviously you can not guess if the package .deb has viruses or not, but:

1: Is there any way to know if the .deb package contains any malware based on System Monitor processes? (As in Windows Task Manager)?

2: If I uninstall the program from the .deb, the supposed virus or malware, would it leave my computer?

3: Is there any recommended anti-virus for Linux? (with graphical interface)

4: Sorry for the bad English, ~~I had to use the Translator~~ XD

Doubt about linux
Hi, I recently got my new thinkpad laptop and I've been curious about linux, but I have some doubts.
Is there a distributor that competes with windows or something similar? I have seen that many people change and that there is a distributor for each "theme" some to play others to program and others to watch movies etc .... But is there one that covers everything? and if so, does it have longevity? I'm afraid that once I start using it in a few years it will be left aside and I will have to change distro.

Looking for simple text editor with index functionality
I'm looking for a lightweight Linux alternative to Windows Notepad. I don't need much, basic functionality is fine. I just want it to be lightweight and have some kind of index similar to google docs, so that that I can find a specific chapter without having to look for it manually.

Tuna UI 0.1.33021
Here’s the first beta release of Tuna UI a mobile ui for xfce based on phosh, here’s the notes
Update notes
-Rebased on phosh 0.9 (previously based on phosh 8.0)
-changed style.css to new theme (Falia)
-added back some phosh files that were missing
Hopefully in the next release the bottom task bar will be added with some icons that makes more sense and shows what they do (thanks for that comment on the announcement post) and maybe getting that quick settings menu to appear at the bottom not the top

Mousai - FOSS shazam-like identifier for Linux
https://github.com/SeaDve/Mousai
It is currently only buildable from source , but soon, It will be released in flathub.
The main features of the app is it can detect music through microphone and save the noscript, link, album art to the application.
Note that it uses audd.io's API to work, so for more trials per day you need to login to their website. Although, in the future, if I got enough funding I might remove this restriction.

Finally decided to quit windows after I got fed up with its 'backup and restore'
I had done the process several times before, its pretty easy, to install a bigger SSD into the laptop. Windows has that pretty neat 'backup and restore' feature, and like I say, I had done it a couple of times before.
Well, this time was different. Windows would not restore, not many how many tricks I tried, re-mounting drives and partitions, looking at the EFI settings in the bios. Windows would not find the image that it had just created on my hard drive - what fucking bullshit! The backup and restore just completely shit the bed on me. I do have an image that should be good on a hard drive, it sure would be nice to get my portfolio and photos back at some point. But, at this point, I am so fucking over messing with windows and just how fucking stupid it is, and how stupid I am for thinking it would all work.
Anyways, I'm pleasantly surprised on how quickly I was able to get Ubuntu up on my PC. Seems a lot less light weight. Looks clean. I hope it works with my hardware OK.

A windows story
You probably heard few of them already...
First at all I'm a windows fan boy I run windows for the past 25 years and is absolutely no reason for me to ever move to linux or even be interested in it.
Well until I actually bought a mac book air for the wife. I have to admit I hate apple more than anything else but I was absolutely mind blow with the no fan and 17 hours battery that the M1 bring into the table...
Then a stupid idea came to my head. As I will never run ever macos could I install Linux? Fast enough I discovered that the answer is no well at least at the moment... Then becoming more and more stupid I ended up runing Linux into a vitural machine first Mx, then Zorin then Manjaro, Then ubuntu well pretty much every Distro available... I end up knowing the answer Linux is absolutely crap it's complicated it's slower than windows (by the way windows doesn't need to restart every 5 min and no now the virus are pretty dead there too)...
I got absolutely so frustrated with Linux even installing the simple little tasks made me sweating! And remember linux running slow? Well my ultra book running a virtual machine didn't do a favor there...
Surprising Linux was kind of a drug. Even I hated it I couldn't stop trying it Manjaro Plasma got me pretty good there. I just couldn't stop learning about it. Don't get me wrong I was still getting frustrated but after three days I got better.
Today I made a weird choice... I actually dual boot my ultra book and start working on my business with Linux for the first time in 25 years I did not use windows. I just use Linux. I know it's seem stupid for few of you that has been using linux for years but I felt like today was a good bye to Windows. The point of the story is don't give up on Linux cos it's absolutely the most interesting OS I ever touched yes I did hate it and I'll still hate it for few months but when you got that keyboard shortcut in you will never look back!
