Introducing Torrentr!
Hello fellow Linux Enthusiasts,
Like many of you, I torrent Linux distros as a way to pay back to the Linux community. The only issue I've found with torrenting distros is keeping track of when distros get released. Naturally, as a techie and developer, I didn't let this problem just sit, I solved it. I created Torrentr which helps you keep track of new distro releases by texting you when they get released. It's fully open source and you can read more about it here: [https://github.com/theREALaltoid/torrentr](https://github.com/theREALaltoid/torrentr)

Linux: Affiliate marketing
Are there any Linux based companies offering affiliate marketing programs? I recently started a linux page on Facebook and wonder if I can find anything related to my content to do some affiliate marketing with.

XFCE has a "secret" color picker!
How to find it:
1. Settings -> Panel -> Appearance
2. In the Background section, for Style select Solid color
3. Click on the rectangle next to Color

Complaint: Lack of GUI option for dynamic range compression
Windows has an easy toggle for enabling (system-wide) dynamic range compression (they call it "audio normalization" or something like that). It's a feature that I need in my day to day usage, yet none of the DEs I've tried have an option for enabling it. You have to install a plugin, edit pulseaudio conf files, restart pulseaudio, and in order to turn it back off there's no reliable way to do it, because volume levels get all messed up.
Why don't DE makers and distros care about this? What do you do when you need dynamic range compression?
I'm sorry about the rant, but I'm kinda tired of editing pulseaudio conf files manually, wasting time on the www looking for solutions just because I forgot some obscure detail about pulseaudio's interface.
What's your opinion?

Does the kernel in Opensuse Leap 15.1 contain the latest AMD drm somehow?
I installed the latest Opensuse Leap on a raven ridge system and I was surprised to see a GUI considering it has an older kernel. I tried to play Minecraft and I noticed something odd. The drm is at least 3.something. Did Opensuse decide to integrated newer AMD kernel driver in there or something? On other distorts, I wasn’t able to get video card working until at least kernel 4.16 and it’s working with 4.12 on this.

I would like to thank all the people working on PowerPC for their amazing work
I am posting this from an iBook G3, a laptop that was released when I was two years old. I'm absolutely astonished by the fact that a twenty-year-old computer, rocking what is essentially a long-abandoned CPU architecture and 256 MB of RAM, can be running Firefox and other day-to-day tasks with relative ease, even without hardware acceleration.
I don't know what to say, other than "thank you!". Thank you very much to the amazing free software teams that make this possible.

Advice about Linux+/LPiC-1
Recently I completed the Linux Essentials course at Linux Academy and I was extremely disappointed, so much that I was going to continue but I cancelled the subnoscription.
I found that free NDG @Netacad covers far more in depth key topics, now I wonder if the course for the LPiC-1, which is divided in two modules, is as good as the Essentials is and prepares you enough for go and take the exam.
Thoughts? Ideas?
Thanks !
