OTPClient v1.5.0 is out
Some days ago I've released version 1.5.0 of OTPClient: https://github.com/paolostivanin/OTPClient/releases/tag/v1.5.0
The changelog is:
- add shortcut to quit the application
- use native dialog for open and save actions
- show error dialog if db is missing
- rename "label" to "account name" in order to respect label = accountname / issuer (":" / "%3A") *"%20" accountname (fix #136)
- respect XDG_CONFIG_HOME
- correctly handle empty label and/or issuer when editing a row
Packages for opensuse are already up to date (see the project's wiki for info).
With flatpak I saw there's a build issue which I cannot reproduce on 2 different PCs, so I'll have to ping someone from the flatpak team to help me with this.
I guess in the next few days also packages for Ubuntu and Arch will be updated by the respective maintainers :) (thank you!!)
This week I'm also working on v2.0, let's see how far I'll go ;-)
As always, if you have issues, questions, feedback please open an issue on GitHub (or ping me here if you don't have a GitHub account)

With the increased ram (upto 4GB) on raspberry Pi 4 can we load the complete os into ram on bootup and run it off ram?
With the faster ddr4 ram, wouldn't it be faster to run it off ram and and do periodic writes to sdcard? Are there any oses out there that already support it?

Buster – the new version of Raspbian
You'll need the new Raspbian Buster for Raspberry Pi 4, and it is now the standard version of Raspbian for all earlier Raspberry Pi models too.
Is it Linux or android ? Quectel EC21 / EC25
The 4g modem EC21 / EC25 / EG25 (they are almost the same thing) are supposed to be linux based modems. I need your help to make sure that. Also the guys of osmocom [says](https://osmocom.org/projects/quectel-modems/wiki/EC25) its linux. The EG25-W is also the modem that will be used in the upcoming pine phone.
(**please** don't block this post I know this should be in /r/linuxquestions but i need more people....)
(please dont write here "android is linux")
The first point is the kernel. Is it linux or android kernel ?
I must say that at first there are 7902839 clues that suggest that it android but... I just want to be sure.

With Microsoft discontinuing support for Windows 7/8 in January, I (a small business IT consultant) suddenly have clients actually interested in Linux workstations.
In the last two months, I've gone from supporting nothing but Windows / Mac workstations, with Linux servers whenever I can get away with them, to supporting Linux Mint workstations at three different companies (12 work stations in total).
I'm really excited!
Things I've been hearing from clients:
"Wow, it's so fast now!"
"These installs are so quick! That took like 20 minutes!"
"This is so easy, why didn't I do this before?"
"Tell me again about how I'm less likely to get viruses."
"Full disk encryption! Cool!"
"I thought I would have to throw this computer away!"
"If this is so easy, why don't more people do it??"
My favorite so far:
"Holy crap. I should have listened to you years ago."

How do I find a Linux girlfriend?
Greetings from Belgium! I know this sounds like a troll post but let me approach this topic as seriously as possible. I am a college computer networking student and in my classes I see that it's a very male-dominated field.. sometimes I'll see a Linux user or two, but again, they're all men. I am of the age where I'm at least somewhat interested in looking for someone to love, but I really don't have many other interests besides music, politics, and free software. If there was a girl who loved Linux as much as I did, then I think we'd be on the same page for many things. I'm wondering where I can find said person. Now, I know that many say that you don't find love, love finds you, but can't I just apt install gf? It's getting lonely down here...
And as usual, sorry for my improper English! :)

Beginner at linux
Hi guys. So I've always been interested in the IT field but have more theoretical knowledge and only fluent when it comes to databases or excel (I just finished high school). But that's pretty much it, I don't have much knowledge when it comes to programming or linux. I'm planning on taking up computer science as a field of study in university, but since i don't have much knowledge when it comes to programming I enrolled for a crash course in programming, linux and ethical hacking. I don't wana be that annoying noob but could someone brief me up on why people use linux, what purpose linux is used for and why is it so popular? And also how does it relate to computer science? I surfed the web but couldn't find a solid answer, so i turned to this forum instead.
