Android-style launcher/wm
I've had no luck with Google. Does anyone know of any project which offers a window manager in the style of a basic android launcher?
I'm looking at using Arch as a base system for a media center but I want a very simple user interface which I could configure to use a remote (basic up, down, left, right) to select an 'app', which would be a configurable link to some installed program, launched in full screen with no window decoration.
I'd also want a a single remote input to minimise all windows and one to open a task switcher.
If it's out there is like to contribute, but if not I'd be looking to fork something(s) and get to work.
Thanks

We need beta testers for Insync 3! (A Google Drive & OneDrive sync app)
Hola everyone!
I'm Greg and I'm part of Insync --a reliable Google Drive sync app that has supported Linux users for the past 10 years (we’re cross-platform too).
Insync 3 (currently in beta) is our latest version which welcomes 2 big features (among many others). Namely:
* Core 3: a brand new sync engine we rebuilt from the ground up that provides:
* More reliable syncing
* Faster syncing speeds
* OneDrive syncing!
We’re reaching out to the Linux community today because we need quality testers to help test our app. If you’re interested, check out our beta page here: [https://www.insynchq.com/3](https://www.insynchq.com/3)
I also made a post before announcing the beta which you can find here: [https://www.reddit.com/r/linux/comments/annm5n/insync\_is\_bringing\_onedrive\_to\_linux\_beta/](https://www.reddit.com/r/linux/comments/annm5n/insync_is_bringing_onedrive_to_linux_beta/)
There were a few common questions in that post and I’ve made a short FAQ that hopefully answers them. But if you have any more questions, feel free to ask me! I’ll answer them the best I can. :)
To learn more about Insync, visit our website at [https://www.insynchq.com](https://www.insynchq.com/)!
# FAQ’s
1. *Is Insync FOSS?*
No, Insync is proprietary software with a closed-source. We’re a 16-person company with each member fully focused at delivering quality software and service for Linux, Windows and Mac users.
2. *Does Insync store any of my files?*
No. Insync uses [Google OAuth 53](https://developers.google.com/accounts/docs/OAuth2) (Authorization Tokens) for authentication and authorization. OAuth is an open standard authorization protocol that allows third parties to access user data without the need to know a user’s password.
3. *Does Insync support OneDrive for Business?*
Yes!
Hopefully you’re interested in testing our app! Cheers!

Direct IO vs Dax
I understand that both are used to bypass page cache but what are the technical differences between them? And can Dax be used on a regularly formatted ext4 file system?

Infomagic linux developers resource
Hi, I am not crazy tech savvy at all, I am new here to find out what this is. I explore abandoned places as a hobby and I came across an antique store with an unopened box of “infomagic linux developers resource” 6 disc cd sets. I have no idea what these are but I am very curious because I love learning about any and all of my finds. It is the december 1999 version. I will post pictures in an edit when i get the outside wraps wiped and cleaned off.

Linux on Arm for Snapdragon 8CX powered devices
Hi r/linux,
I recently discovered these devices are planned for a Q3 2019 release, and I was wondering how linux will work on them, since they seem like the first mainstream Arm devices?

nftables wiki down?
I had been trying to set up my nftables firewall on my Debian-based Linux router, but after taking a break from the project it looks like the wiki is down now. Does anyone know if or when it's expected to come back up, or have any recommendations for other resources on configuring nftables?

Venus 0.1.6 - Set wallpapers from Unsplash.com
[Venus on GitHub](https://github.com/AlfredoSequeida/venus) [Venus on PyPI](https://pypi.org/project/venuspy)
Venus is a cross-platform tool I wrote to set random wallpapers from [Unsplash](http://unsplash.com), which started as a Linux project, but since it's written in Python, it didn't take much to add multi-platform support.
As of release 0.1.6 it now also has support to set an interval to change the wallpaper in the config file every X amount of seconds.
To install:
pip3 install venuspy
Feature requests, comments, and insults are welcomed.

ecryptfs-migrate-home is done but the home directory is not really encrypted.
I created a new admin users, logged in as that user and then I ran ecryptfs-migrate-home -u old_user_name
after a while it said it was done and that I should log in as the old_user_name. I did that and everything seems fine.
Then I log out and I log in as the new admin user and go poking in the old_user_name home directory and all the files are readable (after I sudo). It seems like none of the files are actually encrypted.
Then I run ecrypt-migreate-home again and it says the directory is already encrypted but it's clearly not.
This is on mint BTW.
What is going on?
