Best DEs for a touchscreen?
So I recently bought a little 2-in-1 (Lenovo Flex with all Intel/Wacom components) that I intend to use as a tablet sometimes and it's gotten me thinking about the state of Linux and touch screen interfaces. I've been distrohopping around a few GNOME distros as its what I'm most familiar with prior to getting a touchscreen. Some little issues I've been having revolve around some interface buttons being small like the noscriptbar buttons or menu buttons. I've remedied a lot with GNOME Tweaks etc and for the most part it's very usable but I'm curious what kind of setups do y'all use for your touchscreen devices?

How do you provide SSH access to developers in your infrastructure
Curious about how do you do it, keeping in mind
\- different teams having access to only those boxes which belong to that team
\- providing ssh access without hand smashing the server.
\- revoking ssh access for someone as and when required.
Would also be interested to know of possible ways to do the above.
Heard the recent AWS announcement for the IAM based ssh access, but would be great to know cloud agnostic ways in which someone solves this problem.

Any way to make xrandr only apply to a certain portion of the screen?
So here's the thing, I dropped my laptop on the bus this morning, now half the screen is dorked. With xrandr, I'm able to make the colors look pretty normal, but then the other half of the screen is completely dorked. Is there any way I can specify a region to operate on with xrandr, or a similar too?

HP Pavilion 14 ce-1000tu B&O speakers sound very low. Any workarounds?
After googling around a lot, I still didn't find a solution, but I've learnt the cause of then problem. Not all the speakers are working because the pin connections are not routed properly. I tried to manually set pin connections using hda-jack-retask, tried a lot of combinations but I am yet to get it working. Is there a solution to the problem? Can this bug be fixed in future.

PS: I have tried a lot of distributions and have the exact same problem, the speakers work fine with windows.

brightness_switch_enabled
Hello. Is there something simillar to hwdb from systemd for kernel module parameters? hwdb let's you applay device specific quirks for your devices. My problem is that video module have brightness_switch_enabled set to true on default. But for my specific hardware it should be set to false. I know how to fix this for myself but it would be great if I could fix it for everyone using the same laptop.

ulauncher-mpd now available for ulauncher 5
I've updated ulauncher-mpd to python 3 (ulauncher API level 2) I hope everything is still working, but there might be some fixes needed.
The python2 version is now located in the python2 branch, while the python 3 version is in master.

Replacement laptop for programming
My Surface Pro 4 fell victim to one of our puppers the other day (see picture), just as I finished my last credits to graduate. It worked pretty well, but once I was programming more I spent most of my time in CentOS 7 on OracleVM.

I would like to focus more on Linux operating systems moving forward, and will likely be doing a lot of programming in my personal and professional life, so I will need a new laptop. I noticed that most of the Computer Science professors at my university used Mac laptops, despite working primarily with Linux; I asked two of them about it and really what it came down to is they're similar as far as bash commands and other functionality to Linux, and are just reliable tools.

So I would like some advice.. I am torn between getting something like a Dell XPS 13 Developer Edition (or another non-Windows machine that I can run CentOS on instead), or a MacBook Pro and using a virtual box software. I am willing to spend extra to get premium hardware, and need something that will "just work," as far as the hardware is concerned. Obviously I could save a little money getting something that has no operating system costs, but I feel like it might be worthwhile to learn the Mac OS. I'm also wondering if the VM software that is available for Mac would work better than it did on Windows - I found OracleVM to be lacking in a couple ways, primarily lack of video ram.

Thank you!

Best onedrive client for Linux?
Hi, I have tried a few OneDrive clients, and I would definitely prefer a GUI. I have a gigabit symmetrical connection.
I am currently using ExpanDrive, but it does not have an option for storing some folders locally and the folder directory listing is slow. I have also corrupted files I was working on when saving. Downloads of large individual files are very fast 30 MB/s+
I tried Insync 3.0.5 beta and that gets stuck trying to sync. I am only syncing \~6000 files through it and it doesn't finish downloading.
The OneDrive client on Windows is extremely fast for me even if the files are not local. Directory listing through Windows Explorer is very fast.
I am on Manjaro Deepin, so I don't have access to GNOME sync.
Anyone have any recommendations for a good client?
