To those of you with an jackless phone that use the USB-C port for both charging and audio: How’s the port holding up?

Inspired by a thread from /r/iPhone

I switched a couple of months ago to wireless earbuds but before that I was using the dongle. I am not sure if I didn't notice before, but after using wired headphones through the USB-C port it feels like it loosened up a bit....

[DEV] Update: I updated my notification app Unnotification to be an overall notification manager app. Now completely free with all features!

Some of you [may have seen my last post](https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/c8ei4f/dev_i_updated_my_notification_app_unnotification/) regarding how I updated my app Unnotification from being an app that brings back swiped-away notifications to doing that and being an overall notification manager, from keeping a notification history, to backing up that history and viewing snoozed notifications before they're unsnoozed. However, those features came at a price: a monthly subnoscription.

Many ...

UsageSafe: app that helps with phone addiction

I made an app that should help people with phone addiction to realize how much time they spend with their smarphones providing a lot of data and ways to set limits for most distracting apps.

There were many similar apps out there in the Google Play Store but none of them really suited my needs. Digital Wellbeing is only available on small portion of all devices while other similar apps want you to pay to unlock basic features. I've decided to make something that will give me detailed statistics...

Tappy Fruit - my first app to learn Android Studio and brush up on Java

Made this just to learn some Java and Android Studio and wanted to share. Had some of my friends try it out on my device and they found it decently fun and we have been competing for high scores! I'm currently tied amongst them for a high score of 81! If you beat it let me know. There are no ads and I am not profiting from this application, I just wanted to share my first creation! App can be downloaded here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zetaroid.buttongame

Does anyone here feel like the headphone jack thing could be solved by just putting wireless earbuds in the box?

I get that having wireless mobile technology is the future, but if it is, then why are companies still putting wired earbuds in the box with a device that doesn't have a headphone jack?

Imagine this: a dude buys a new Note or whatever and it doesn't have a headphone jack, *but* it does come with wireless earbuds that he can charge by setting them on the back of his phone for a little while.

I'd honestly take that than have to go spend $100+ on new Samsung-branded earbuds. I suppose this will n...

On the Current State of Android

**tl;dr:** Android's advantages over iOS are gone.

Android has always been my choice for a phone OS. Apple's crackdown on jailbreaking and all their right-to-repair BS and their general exploitation of their position as the dominant smartphone manufacturer in the US has always kept me away from them.

However, times have changed and the benefits that once kept me with Android have slowly been taken away.

I'll start first with custom ROMs and rooting. Simply put, it hasn't been that the ability...

Everyone who says Bluetooth is enough, here's another example why it doesn't always work

My girlfriend and I are on a 12 hour road trip, my phone has local music cause the network is spotty. Her phone is connected to the car for navigation via Android Auto

I try to connect my phone to Bluetooth to play music and this is the message I get
[Image](https://i.imgur.com/DWb0aWi.jpg)

So, it turns out, you can't use Bluetooth while Android Auto is running and my phone didn't have Android Auto

Instead of having to choose, we decided to do a quick stop to get the cable with the jacks ...

PSA: Google Calendar is broken for some users and will not sync recurring events properly [fix inside]

I wanted to post this since I've been having an issue with my shared G Suite calendar not syncing events that are recurring. It's been a huge issue, as I can't rely on my calendar for notifications or planning my day.

It seems like it is fairly widespread and has been going on for a while. Turns out, there is a workaround that somehow works:

I'm not sure if I found a workaround, or the app suddenly started working, but here's what I ...

Can we take a moment to thank Razer for starting the high refresh rate phone trend?

I keep seeing videos talking about high refresh rate phones hopefully becoming more main stream and even the new pixel is getting it and people credit one plus or the Asus rog so I just want to say thanks Razer for actually doing it first! (Sent from a Razer phone)...

Flagships and Luxury Flagships.

Opinion: With the release of Note 10 and Note 10 pro, I really feel that companies are cannibalizing their regular Flagships to milk out more from the customers. Look at the Note 10 and Note 10 'Plus', a person looking for a note and not the s10 series is actually looking for the features of the plus version and not the regular version. Samsung should have made them identical in every spec and charged more for the plus because it's a larger phone. This is going the apple route but still differen...

Is losing the headphone jack in future Android phones really that tragic?

As someone who only uses Bluetooth headphones for music and calls (Note 9 owner, too), I'm wondering what the big deal is about losing the jack (genuinely want to know, this not a comment of disrespect to anyone who is upset). With all the advances in Bluetooth tech, do we really need a jack?

**Edit** Sorry I haven't responded to your replies, I've been in class all day! Thank you so much for your taking time and providing answers/info/perspectives, everyone! I'm a nursing student, so my questi...

The Note 10+ is made for people like me.

Apparently this is a bit of an unpopular opinion on this subreddit, but here it goes...

First, the price:

I'm working with a Pixel 2 XL here. That means when I pre-order the Note 10+, here's what I get:

* $50 off the phone (Just like everyone else)
* $150 off Samsung products (just like everyone else)
* **$300** trade in credit

So the $1099 Note 10+, as far as I'm concerned, is $1099-$50-$300, or $749.

If you're buying from Samsung, that's *literally cheaper* than the Note 9 because the...
