PSA: Google Calendar is broken for some users and will not sync recurring events properly [fix inside]

I wanted to post this since I've been having an issue with my shared G Suite calendar not syncing events that are recurring. It's been a huge issue, as I can't rely on my calendar for notifications or planning my day.

It seems like it is fairly widespread and has been going on for a while. Turns out, there is a workaround that somehow works:

I'm not sure if I found a workaround, or the app suddenly started working, but here's what I ...

Can we take a moment to thank Razer for starting the high refresh rate phone trend?

I keep seeing videos talking about high refresh rate phones hopefully becoming more main stream and even the new pixel is getting it and people credit one plus or the Asus rog so I just want to say thanks Razer for actually doing it first! (Sent from a Razer phone)...

Flagships and Luxury Flagships.

Opinion: With the release of Note 10 and Note 10 pro, I really feel that companies are cannibalizing their regular Flagships to milk out more from the customers. Look at the Note 10 and Note 10 'Plus', a person looking for a note and not the s10 series is actually looking for the features of the plus version and not the regular version. Samsung should have made them identical in every spec and charged more for the plus because it's a larger phone. This is going the apple route but still differen...

Is losing the headphone jack in future Android phones really that tragic?

As someone who only uses Bluetooth headphones for music and calls (Note 9 owner, too), I'm wondering what the big deal is about losing the jack (genuinely want to know, this not a comment of disrespect to anyone who is upset). With all the advances in Bluetooth tech, do we really need a jack?

**Edit** Sorry I haven't responded to your replies, I've been in class all day! Thank you so much for your taking time and providing answers/info/perspectives, everyone! I'm a nursing student, so my questi...

The Note 10+ is made for people like me.

Apparently this is a bit of an unpopular opinion on this subreddit, but here it goes...

First, the price:

I'm working with a Pixel 2 XL here. That means when I pre-order the Note 10+, here's what I get:

* $50 off the phone (Just like everyone else)
* $150 off Samsung products (just like everyone else)
* **$300** trade in credit

So the $1099 Note 10+, as far as I'm concerned, is $1099-$50-$300, or $749.

If you're buying from Samsung, that's *literally cheaper* than the Note 9 because the...

[Discussion/Update/Mod] - Partial AMOLED mode Achieved on Discord APP (v9.3.3)

**spoiler**📷

Hey Folks,

I have finally achieved a non-root solution for AMOLED Discord Theme on Android.

This is based off the solution provided [by u/POPstationinacan](https://www.reddit.com/r/discordapp/comments/aydqme/discords_android_app_has_an_amoled_dark_mode_but/)

I have implemented this. Though it is a bit clunky as of now. The Panel with Servers and Channels is not completely black. I will work towards a fix on it.

[DISCUSSION] Does anyone else feel that the idea of a waterfall display or all curved display is not only an eyesore but also impractical and unecessary?

Been hearing a lot about a new generation of devices coming out with a curved display that goes all the way to the base of the phone. Oppo is releasing one this year with the "waterfall" display. I believe these phones are pretty gross to look at, but also the idea of this makes cases a nightmare. Accidental touches might as well be considered intentional touches because you know that they're going to happen consistently on these displays. And i cant imagine how you'd hold the phone or put a scr...

What version of Android has impressed you the most? Why/how did it do so?

Previously asked about Chromium flags that improved your personal experience and got quite a range of answers ranging from Chrome purists to this with a lot of experimental features enabled they suited them. Chrome is a universal browser though, and I'm not curious what your favourite android skin or version is and why?

Personally, as much flak as it gets, I love me some MIUI 10. Yes, it does require some tweaking out of the box, but I honestly find that enjoyable for setting up a phone an...

Are smartphone hardware interesting any more ?

I was just watching this video from a Youtuber Austin Evans ([I'm OVER Smartphones...](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1QC8NNODsw&feature=youtu.be)), and was thinking, maybe he is right. Smartphone design haven't changed a lot in past couple of years. I haven't changed my phone (OnePlus 5) in about 2 years, and i don't feel the need to. The hardware is pretty capable of doing everything i want.

What do you guys think,

Should companies focus more on innovative designs and features ?

Should ...

Why is OnePlus the only Chinese manufacturer that has gained marketshare in the US?

Why does brands like Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo are staying away from the US market?
(I know Oppo and Vivo are both owned by BBK, as well as OnePlus, but they act like seperate companies)...
