PSA: Google Calendar is broken for some users and will not sync recurring events properly [fix inside]

I wanted to post this since I've been having an issue with my shared G Suite calendar not syncing events that are recurring. It's been a huge issue, as I can't rely on my calendar for notifications or planning my day.

It seems like it is fairly widespread and has been going on for a while. Turns out, there is a workaround that somehow works:

Opinion: With the release of Note 10 and Note 10 pro, I really feel that companies are cannibalizing their regular Flagships to milk out more from the customers. [DISCUSSION] Does anyone else feel that the idea of a waterfall display or all curved display is not only an eyesore but also impractical and unecessary?

Been hearing a lot about a new generation of devices coming out with a curved display that goes all the way to the base of the phone. Oppo is releasing one this year with the "waterfall" display. I believe these phones are pretty gross to look at, but also the idea of this makes cases a nightmare. I was just watching this video from a Youtuber Austin Evans ([I'm OVER Smartphones...](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1QC8NNODsw&feature=youtu.be)), and was thinking, maybe he is right. Smartphone design haven't changed a lot in past couple of years. I haven't changed my phone (OnePlus 5) in about 2 years, and i don't feel the need to. The hardware is pretty capable of doing everything i want.
